I know that is insanely hard to do but I think why defenders don’t do that more often…or try to blow that up even if it doesnt work. Like if its a 2 on 1 fastbreak with Gabe Vincent with the ball and lebron coming the other side, I am going to read that as a lob every single time. Hedge to the ball and then retreat for the lob. They are most likely going to score either way so try to make them make a mistake.
That’s always my move in pickup ball — stunt to the ball handler then retreat to the second guy assuming the pass is coming.
Of course, in pickup I play there isn’t lobs, and we’re all slow. But the theory is the same.
I trained crossovers for a while but then realized the people i played weren’t good enough to bite and i wasn’t fast enough to get by them not biting so it becomes a stalemate 😤
