[Highlight] Stephon Castle misses the free throw with 6.1 seconds remaining in regulation, but gets the rebound off his own miss and scores!
The last minute of that game was incredible lol. Honestly might be the best 4Q I’ve seen this year from a game.
It’s one of the few times that fouling at the end of the game actually made things more exciting
Julian Champagnie has missed clutch FTs a bunch this season lol, he laughed it off in his postgame interview with Inside the NBA but it’s also definitely a pattern (that he’s now aware of so hope he figures it out)
You aren’t kidding, he’s 1⁄7! Crazy they didn’t foul him when he held the ball for like 2 seconds after missing the first 2.
Can you scoot back and take free throws from the three point line? Asking for a friend.
Nick Van Exel
Idk who I want shooting clutch ft in the playoffs. Maybe Fox. Castle and Harper are in the low 70’s while wemby is at 81 I think
For those who didn’t watch, Spurs were up 1 and Champagnie missed both FTs, got his own rebound and passed it out to Castle who got fouled. Castle made the first, and then this happened.
Also all of this occurred immediately after Brook Lopez passed the ball to Batum who was standing out of bounds.
So to sum up, the Clippers were down 1 with 13 seconds left, proceeded to throw the ball out of bounds, and then gave up both rebounds as they watched the Spurs go 1⁄4 from the line.
They also took like 8 seconds to foul someone after the rebound lol
That was CRAZY
You forgot the part where Vassel clearly fouled someone and it didn’t matter because Mitch called a TO right before it happened. Crazy ending.
And it was set up from that Champagnie rebound also because Wemby tipped it out to him, so in the next possession they were extra focused on boxing him out, leaving an open lane for Castle. Poetry in motion
That part was probably the most wild part of it all because if Mitch doesn’t call that timeout, the Clippers get an away from the play offensive foul and get the ball back down just 1 with an eternity and who knows what would’ve happened giving the ball to Kawhi in crunch time
Ty lue has a job because he knows where bodies are buried.
That man is incompetent
I mean, I echo the sentiment, but the last few possessions of this game is really not on him.
Lopez passing the ball so quickly, Batum standing out of bounds, Mitch calling TO at just the right time, and Clippers somehow can’t box out for a missed free throw.
As a coach you really can’t do much when you players all of a sudden forgot how basketball works.
But then again, fuck Ty Lue and fuck the Clippers, they deserve every bad thing happening to them.
That’s on the coach tho. If a team makes one mistake, ok maybe it’s a brain fart. But to make a series of game losing decisions in the final seconds has to do with overall focus of the team.
I only watched the last five minutes and enjoyed the game thoroughly.
The clippers clipped so hard the last like 5 possessions
They set a record for Clips Per Second
That last minute is the worst basketball I have ever seen. I would accuse them of tanking except they have no reason to. How does Batum not take a step out of bounds!? Just atrocious
Batum looked confused when the ball game back to him. If they had some sort of inbound play, he wasn’t supposed to get it. He passed it on and Lopez almost immediately passed it back to him.
Better to be lucky than good sometimes
to be fair, this play happens because the Clippers were so worried about Wemby that they aggressively box him out leaving themselves out of position.
Meanwhile Clippers are cursed
Some would say the Clippers being unlucky is the universe working as intended.
Did you see that lack of Mathurin box out on the shooter? That’s an elementary school basketball mistake. I get it, Wemby exists, but pressing your body up again him is going to do less than actually boxing out the shooter.
Seems like a huge goof from Mathurin. Also well done by Castle by not entering before the ball hits the rim (or close enough). So many times you see players rushing in way early.
How do you blow 2 defensive rebounds after missed FTs in the clutch??
Wemby. He draws so much attention
Yeah there’s 2 dudes on him. Kawhi boxed out Champ correctly but that ball bounced right to Castle
They focused so hard on holding wemby back after the last rebound that they left the lane wide open haha
Unreal 4th, good lord. Spurs are scary
Spurs please make your clutch free throws, I cannot take this anymore
You put one man on Wemby, Wemby get the rebound. You put two man on Wemby, you risk letting the shooter get the rebound.
he played like fucking dogshit – I mean PUTRID dogshit – for the first 47 minutes of this game lmfao. I love this fucking team I’m tearing up like wemby
and being terrorized by Kawhi 😭
He doesn’t even have to be a top scorer for Spurs to win. We are lucky with our guard rotation.
Maybe his worst game of the season, but he makes winning plays! Kawhi had him in the deepest pits of tartarus tho lol
What a clown fiesta of an ending all around. I love it.
That last minute is going to be in every tanking teams game plan. Shit was so masterful I forgot the clippers weren’t even tanking.
Hell, yeah!
Looked to me like the Clippers were too worried about boxing out Wemby to box out Castle, which is honestly fair. Someone from outside the paint needed to crash and take care of that, but didn’t. They also didn’t have a time out, so I guess they wanted at least 1 person to get open down court for a chance at a real shot. Only person I’d really say screwed up here is Dunn (I think that’s who that is), who starts to crash from outside but then hesitates to read the bounce instead of getting in front of Castle.
Mathurin and Lopez were so focused on pushing Wemby away from the rebound neither even appeared to even consider that grabbing a potential rebound was their job. It was functionally castle and champagnie vs kawai.

Hey buddy. We’re all having a good time here
Angry Indian man meme face
What pissed me off the most was the Camera catching Dunn mouthing shit to his team about guarding the shooter. and he half step waltz into the lane.
Clippers have the tools, but too many players lack the IQ/motor to do the little things, especially the guards.
Mathurin needs to shake that I need to score to be effective mentality.
Young kids needs to be better, I remember two weeks ago, Miller was on weak side rotation on the lakers. Luka drew a double, he proceeded to shade toward LaRavia and the pass zips over his head to KENNARD.
Some of this shit should be hammered into them so their natural instinct isn’t their base bad/poor habit reaction.
They are poorly coached. Ty lue is the worst coach in the nba
That’s my G
that’s crazy tough
what an insane ending.
