[Lockedupjb] Jayson Tatum on his recovery journey: “It’s been tough. A lot of times I doubted myself. A lot of nights I spent crying. But I just tried to keep showing up everyday”
My glorious king
A lot of nights WE spent crying
We are so lucky as fans. I love this fucking team.
No less. So proud of this fucking team
In a league full of load management and tanking… I appreciate that tatum genuinely wants to compete and win. You could tell he was mentally devastated by that injury.
Yes I think he wants the individual accolades. But he really wants to win too.
“load management”
tell that to my soaked jeans
My favorite JT quote: “I don’t like to sit out… Especially on the road. There’s so many fans out there with Tatum 0 jersey on.”
Honestly can’t be expressed enough how valuable it is to have a top player in the NBA (or any sport) willing to be vulnerable enough to talk about crying.
Tatum haters can call him corny all they like, this is the type of role model young men need.
I’ve said the exact same thing! He’s always normalized it and I love that about him
I agree but it does lead you to believe that JB is the emotional leader of this team. Kind of like the Pierce/Garnett synergy. Paul was more talented and wanted to win as much as KG, but KG made it a point to push others to be better.
Are you implying that because Tatum cried over a devastating injury, he isn’t (equipped to be) the emotional leader on the team?
If that’s your implication, men are so cooked.
Men been cooked for a while.
Im saying Tatum, by his own admission, was 2nd guessing himself as to whether he wanted to play again. after the injury. His self confidence, and obviously Im only giving my opinion, might be based on his talent and personal journey. Therefore he might be a leader by example. JB seems to be more comfortable speaking his mind and his leadership skills may be more of a motivational , take charge type. Both leaders, just different styles.
This is a wild post on multiple fronts
Long road, but Banner 19 is the destination.
I only own 3 jerseys: Randy Moss, Patrice Bergeron and Jayson Tatum.
So glad Big Deuce is back.
League. On. Notice. JB getting that MVP.
He might have doubted himself, but I never doubted him. So great to see him back.
That’s my emotionally vulnerable super star
Honestly, same.
Real men can admit to tears. Welcome back, king.
He’s just like me fr. (I also cry a lot.)
I love this man oh so much
I wish I could have no ‘Aura’ so I could be just like JT
Achilles tear are pretty bad, 1⁄3 of NBA players never make it back, 1⁄3 do but at a diminished level of play and 1⁄3 fully come back as good as they were before, hopefully he is the later
well he made it back at least
For all the hate this man gets he’s always just kept grinding and letting the results speak for him

It felt amazing watching JT return tonite, I can’t even imagine how good he must feel. The man absolutely loves basketball, in that regard and in his stength of will him and Kobe are cut from the same cloth.
I cried, he cried, we croed.
ANYTHING IS POSSIBLE!!!!!!
JT is back. Now look out League. It’s game time. Welcome back young Man!!
That’s my boy right there
