Thing is Bosh actually had the ability to be a 24&10 guy and had past season to prove it and still sacrificed. Ayton has never showed he can do that but always acted like he has and people should treat him as such.

I hate this because it ignores the fact that Bosh sacrificed in order to do things that almost no one else in the NBA could do at the time. A stretch 5 who could credibly cover the corners and the guard in a pick an roll?

You’re right that it was a sacrifice for him, but there’s reason that teams look for that archetype now. Centers who can guard small AND big AND space the floor get fucking paid.

I honestly think he should have been on the NBA 75th anniversary team. If he had a season or two healthy after LeBron left it would have done wonders for his reputation.

He’s never gonna be happy in the NBA. He’s had a number of chances to fit into different roles and even be the guy. He flounders at the sign of any real world and responsibility.

He has a $8m player option for next season. Would another team offer him more than that? Would he pick it up and mope his way through yet another lackluster season?

If he just wants that, he should still be playing with energy this season and then become lazy once he secures the bag.

The fact that after all this time, a year later, and they still have a big lineup of “Jaxson Hayes/ ” is absolutely mental lol. Like we watched this team get cooked by the Wolves and everyone thought ok they need a good big, maybe even a better backup because Hayes could barely stay on the court without looking the worst player ever. The Clint Capela stuff cracks me up. I feel bad for Ayton that he can’t see that being more like Capela in his prime would make Ayton a better fit for every team he’s been on and therefore see him become a more impactful player.
