The question persists, if the Clippers had instead owed their 2026 Draft Pick, to the Lakers, Knicks or Warriors, (or even the Clippers themselves) would this investigation already have delivered an outcome?
I mean, maybe they don’t penalize the Clippers or Kawhi at all: but if they do penalize them, given it’s possible ramifications for where the pick ends up, the potential of not expediting but rather slow walking these findings, is effecting where this draft pick ends up!

OP only went back to the 2004-05. The real answer is the 1977-78 Sonics, and it’s not particularly close if you add in the playoff run. They started 5-17, fired their coach, hired Lenny Wilkens, went 42-18 the rest of the way, were up 3-2 in the Finals against the Bullets, then blew it at home and lost Game 7. Came back the next season and won the title.
