[Highlight] The Charlotte Hornets defeat the Boston Celtics 118-89 to win their sixth straight. All six of their wins during this win streak have been by 15+ points and Charlotte is now 16-4 over their last 20 games.
nahhh i’m about to start talking irrational
You definitely should.
Dynasty time
Hornet jail is getting full
Get bonked
Buzz Buzz MF
The bonk knueppel is starting to splinter, need to upgrade to aluminum.
I am now in there after trying to equate my waifu to Alex Caruso a bit too much
Miss that guy. He was a fan favourite with us as well.
fuck it, WHO IS BEATING US IN A 7 GAME SERIES? I CANT THINK OF A TEAM
Talk your talk
Thanks for being a cool fan.
Nah not crazy enough hornets will sweep every game to the final
what if the other team just gets demoralized and surrenders after the first game
Would make sense they are playing the greatest team ever
Us
Hawk’s 1 game below .500; wins in 7 to maintain the .500 balance
Bill simmons and Zach Lowe already did the irrational talk for us comparing us to the start of the Warriors dynasty lol, nothing we say can top that
lol tbf they did preface saying they’re going to crazy town with that take.
Lmao yes they did, it was a fun listen
Im waiting to hear the irrational part.
Strictly by positions:
Melo = Steph Kon = Klay Miller = Iggy Bridges = Draymond Diabate = Bogut
“Melo = Steph” I immediately began taking psychic damage
We old bruh I can’t take this no mo
None of these people play remotely like their comparison besides kon and klay
I’m already right there with you. Why can’t we be the champions of the league? Why can’t we be the best team in the league? I don’t see why.
Why can’t we be the greatest sports team of all time?
Will the Hornets ever lose another game? Many people are asking
Thanks D Rose 🌹
You guys are going to win a playoff round this year 100000%, talk all the shit you want
Lmao you have to be joking. They winning the next three chips
What a stupid take.
Only the next three? The downplay is real smh.
Be irrational. Enjoy the ride
Lamelo ball is the greatest pg of all time
BOUGHT SOME TICKETS TO THE PLAYOFFS BUT THE HORNETS THEY WON
Do it homie. I sure as shit would. What a fun team to watch.
Shoot your shot, buddy.
Hope y’all are ready for us in June cuz we’re coming to spread the good news of Bojangles to the big times
Tulsa is getting a Bojangles soon! Cheerwine for the people!
They don’t even know about Bo time fr…apparently some locations up north don’t even have bone in chicken…
Listen to this southern America poet speak on a Bojangles opening in NYC
https://www.tiktok.com/t/ZTh7pRGjB/
That might’ve been the best click I’ve ever followed from this sub 😭
Let it flow
Talk yo shit
The fans need to be absolutely irrational because that will equal more support for the team, which is also a domino effect of all sorts of stuff
I’m not even a hornets fan, I’ve already been talking irrational about the hornets
not irrational if its true
OHHH LAMELO HOW DO YOU DO???
Really happy for yall franchise been through a lot, bobcats, in your Kemba years, jailblazers era, etc. kon is one hell of a player genuinely insane
Talk yo shit king😤
I remember going to Bobcats games growing up where they would offer 5 games and one of them was to see Kobe or LeBron. This team gives everyone in Charlotte reason to go see THEM. When us Hornets fans say we used to pray for times like these, it comes with 20+ years of a mix of mediocrity and downright awfulness. What a time to be alive
$2 Bobcats tickets on Stubhub helped my early 20s broke ass see a lot of NBA games in the early 2010s. I’ll gladly pay face value and more to finally see this team play amazing basketball. Maybe I’ll finally get to see a playoff series win in person for the first time since I was 11 years old watching the Hornets sweep the Heat back in 2001.
Exact same on the bobcats. Id go see them all the time with <$5 or cheaper tickets.
One of my favorites back in the Kemba years when we had McRoberts and Chris Douglas-Roberts on the team. It was snowing the afternoon of the game I snagged some seats about 10 rows back on the baseline for $14 a seat. Won the game and then it snowed like crazy that next day, was back in 2014 I’m pretty sure.
Thinking about the teams back then just reminds me of MKGs jumper. Nightmare fuel
That’s actually badass lol. $2 to go watch an NBA game is amazing. Don’t get me wrong us Nugs fans know what it’s like to have long stretches of shit and I’m glad we don’t have that anymore but ticket prices for a Nugs game now are so bad I never really go anymore. Glad you get to see your team finally on the up and up. I’m rooting for them in the East!
I mean with fees it was like \(10 but still people would put up those nosebleed seats for lowest Stubhub would let them. It was a lot of fun. Drink cheap beers at a dive bar and take the light rail in. If it was a Monday night, there was a local pizza chain (Brixx) by the arena that had \)1.95 drafts and they had like 20 craft beers on draft. It does feel great, I hope we get to experience what y’all got to in Denver.
As a side note, I love visiting Denver! My wife and I were just there a month ago before heading up to Breckenridge. Checked out this sick listening bar, ESP, on Santa Fe Dr. Shame y’all are in a snow drought but still beats snowboarding in NC lol.
Edit: I’m sorry but I have to say fuck the broncos, I’m still salty over 2015 as a lifelong panthers fan. Crocthery caught that damn football! lol
I remember buying $5 tickets to the bobcats and moving down to like the 3rd row because no one was there
Never forget the BOGO season ticket offer after we lost the lottery for Anthony Davis lol
I’m still forever mad about that lottery
Insane times haha
That ticket bundle was such a scam. IN ORDER TO BE ABLE to buy a ticket to the Lakers (Kobe era) or Miami (big 3 era) games they made you buy a bundle of tickets to garbage games nobody wanted to attend. You ended up with one ticket to see Kobe and 4 tickets to see the lamest in the league.
Hahaha yupppp there were some really cheeks games in there. I still remember seeing Ramon Sessions dropping like 25 points on the hawks haha. I thought he was a baller 😂
You really love to see it
everybody gangsta until the hornets start winning.
puts on Starter jacket
Oh my god, the 90s jackets were sick
I put on my Larry Johnson jersey and wizard hat
Grand ma ma!
I was a kid in Cincinnati and my Hornets starter jacket was at the head of the rotation
Also a kid in Cincy with a Hornets starter jacket, to poor for a rotation so I wore it everyday
It’s the hornets, I can’t even be mad. The hornets being good is something we all can get behind
One very rare thing that unites Bostonians, New Yorkers, and Philadelphians.
And Clevelanders
And my axe!
Y’all are making me rethink my issues with the Celtics and Knicks.
Though to be fair, we have a lot of transplants from Boston and NYC down here who show up at the Spectrum Center when those teams are in town and act really obnoxious.
Yeah charlotte (and the triangle) are pretty much the white picket fence destination for 30-40s from nyc/boston/California. Get rich enough to buy a house outright here then coast in the workforce while optionally raising a kid.
These dink mfs got it figured out
Feels amazing being a fan right now but also hurts knowing teams dont see us as a freebie is a badge of honor.
This could also be posted in r/nfl 😭
Panthers🤝Hornets
Some of the best jerseys and THE best starter jacket back in the day.
You can’t top purple and teal. Goat color combo
Early memories of my cool older cousin sporting that jacket. We don’t live anywhere near North Carolina, he just knew the drip
For real. And they are actually fun to watch.
We support Charles Lee around here, go Hornets!
The guy who shit the bed at the battle of Monmouth?
Best team since the turn of the year.
What flipped for you guys?
Well, at first we weren’t winning. And then we started winning. And then we kept winning.
Promote this man
Fire Perk and slot this man in immediately
I think this is it
I knew the rest of us were missing something.
“NBA Analysts hate this one trick…”
why do teams just not win? are they stupid?
Are we talking to Taurean Prince?
So that means in basketball terms is that the team put the basketball in the basketball ring more than the opponents?
Health. Hornets have been snakebitten with injuries for half a decade, but we finally got healthy.
And roster adjustments.
Kalk is decent but Diabate is definitively the better fit for our starters and allows them all to level up. Offensive boards, PNR cutter, dunk spot dump offs, and switch on anyone.
Watching Diabate switch onto White and Prichard with ease was pretty cool
I’m already at the point where I think he needs to be a Hornet for life. Was waived by LAC and on his way out of the league before he locked in and has become just a freak rebounder and defender for us. Any more offensive development from this point is a luxury.
I kept waiting for his size disadvantage to become an issue and it hasn’t yet. He gasses other centers by the 4th every game.
No joke they have to spend all their energy trying to keep him off the offensive glass. Shoutout to kalk for being serviceable when he needs a breather
lets not forget he is observing Ramadan as well. GOAT motor and effort
The Boston announcing crew was comparing him to Ben Wallace. I can see it, but I see a lot of Rodman in him.
Obviously Rodman is the best rebounder to ever play and Moose ain’t THAT. But his drive, ferocity, how he gives 100% always, never takes off, doesn’t take shit … it just screams Rodman to me.
It’s nice to see someone say “adjustments” and actually list what they were.
Thanks. I almost got lazy and stopped but Diabate was the big one.
We gave Sion a bit too many minutes early on and we’ve pulled him off ball now (it was Sexton and Ball starting so no true PG off bench). We toyed with Tre a lot early on off the bench as well which hurt us.
Then the more general roster adjustments of McNeeley to the G-league (he was playing early on) and Salaun reduced minutes when Williams got back.
Diabate is that dude that you just need to be a good team. Such a team player. Whenever I watch him I’m impressed. Watching the Bucks we wish they ever found a player like him during these later Giannis years.
Health, Moussa put into the starting 5, and belief that we can actually play some damn good basketball.
Heath + their starting 5 core is actually super good. They all complement each other pretty well
Unlike my roster which Brunson and KAT do nothing for each other
Definitely can’t undervalue what Kon has done for the offense and team. He’s such steady, efficient scorer and playmaker. Incredibly consistent. Along with the health and Coby White coming off the bench adding another scoring punch
https://www.basketballpoetry.com/p/the-hornets-are-winning-with-defense
Legit good article that answers the question.
To put it simply, health. Can’t win games when your best players are injured. Having Kon doesn’t hurt either.
Lamelo and Miller are healthy. Diabate becoming one of the best PnR defenders in the league. Plus Charles Lee is one of the best coaches alive he just didn’t get to show it in the past because we were tanking
Like actually tho
Buzz buzz mf
This was the pacers story last year. 16-18, then starting the new year went on a tear
The turnaround is similar to the Pacers, but I bet the playoffs goes more like the Pistons last year. Scrappy fighting team no one wants to see that might get screwed by some bad calls/lack of experience.
Shades of 23-24 Mavs.
It’s 2026. The west is wide open while the east challenges the Hornets
The CAVs signed Harden just to beat the Hornets.
Tatum decided to come back on Friday so he could duck the Hornets
Brother when I tell you the gutteral rage I felt knowing we were no longer done facing James Harden this year once that trade got announced
his game against us as a Clipper was perennial MVP Harden performance as well. I was livid seeing the Number 1 on the Cavs that game lol
DUDE I FUCKING KNOW, that guy hates our ass and it’s so frustrating
Man, it would be something if Charlotte passes the play-in for the No. 6 seed in the playoffs. Knicks vs. Hornets would be an awesome first-round matchup
We nearly beat them last year, Charlotte could do it
Hornets putting the Knicks out in the first round after they fired their coach for making the ECF is a wild timeline
it’s the best timeline
Would be a super fun series
no please im good
Easy Hornets win
They might be a top 5 team right now
League is currently in the “Find Out” phase of the FA&FO with us 😏😏
This phase has been loading for a very long time lmao. I’m not sure even the hornets know how to handle it.
you can fuck around with the hornets for 24 years, but you DO NOT wanna know what happens after the 25th 😤😏
Without bias I will say that OKC, Spurs and Pistons are the three teams I’d put above us in power rankings. And we handled the first two when they were fully healthy.
Pistons rematch will be fireworks.
I doubt we play any of our guys that game unfortunately, we’ll probably be resting most of the starters assuming we can lock up the one seed before then. It’s our second to last game
We’re talking about the playoffs big dawg
Most ratings would have them as THE top team.
With the CBA making it seemingly imperative to have quality rookies and players that outperform the cap I don’t think there are m(any?) rebuilding teams I would rather be right now.
Other teams have good players too, but we really don’t have any silly contracts. Even if we could attract a “star” I don’t think it would help us in the long run because our key players are all under 25.
This is the first time I have felt genuine hope. And it isn’t just because of the players or the wins, it’s because the ownership isn’t constantly doing stupid stuff. I think some fans of well run teams take it for granted, bad ownership rots the apple from the inside.
Moose.
Man, this is a hell of a fun rebuild to watch. These guys are absolutely electric. Y’all deserve every bit of this.
This is kind of where I’m at on this team. There’s starting to be talk in the media and within our own fanbase of “who’s the big player we bring in to take us over the top”.
Are we sure making a big move like that is actually what we need? Or do we keep going with what we’ve got at the top and work more on improving our bench/depth? I think I lean towards the latter.
What’s the Hornets pick situation looking like? Could they pull an OKC and just stack up a really strong homegrown team over the next few seasons?
We have all of our own 1st round picks, a 1st in 2026 that is the least favorable of like 5 teams that I’m too lazy to figure out, Dallas’ 2027 pick top 2 protected, and lottery protected 1st from Miami in 2027 that conveys to unprotected in 2028 if it doesn’t come in 2027. So we’re kind of loaded on picks
Those miami and dallas picks could end up being really good
They have 2 firsts this year
I know all too well
Spurs and Pistons are the only one tbh based on young cores.
Id rather the Hornets than the Rockets or the Blazers
The East literally runs through Charlotte right now boys
brother charlotte is running through the east
Even if we don’t upset a team in the playoffs, this has been the best season of basketball I’ve personally watched the Charlotte Hornets play. Charles Lee has these boys right
climb to 6 and take on the Knicks.
it’d be a real new kids on the block vs the old heads matchup.
Hornets turned the ball over 5 times for the game
And one of them was turned back to the hornets on the first pass out of the back court
A month ago, I thought that next season, with a clean slate and injury luck, this team could be a six, maybe five seed. I’m starting to wonder if their regular season ceiling could be the one seed in the east. I’m fascinated to see how this team develops over the coming months because this core is clearly the real deal.
Honestly looking very likely that this team could leapfrog the play-in and head in to the 5⁄6 seed with ~45 wins. Actually wild from a 4-14 start
Yeah, I just checked the standings and you guys could definitely push past Philly. What a crazy ass turnaround.
Biggest ass whooping Boston received so far?
Biggest win and biggest loss in a week
Thats the way we roll
Belt to ass. Respect hornets bros.
I just love this Honeymoon part, where a struggling team starts being good. Before all the toxicity of expectations, obnoxious fans and media slander start to crawl out of the woodwork.
You think Lakers fans are bad? Just wait until us Hornets fans win a playoff series.
We are gonna make Lavar Ball look like a mime.
The Kings perfected this by only being good for one season, so that they could then immediately become bad again and nobody would grow to hate them for it
The Wrath of Kon
Genghis Kon only leaves rubble behind
My Bulls suck. My therapy is watching Charlotte and yelling “the moose is loose” 🫎. Hope you guys enjoy Coby White, we were sad to see him go!
Coby fits right in already
I love his media takes, he actually makes thoughtful comments and tries to tell you something as opposed to bullshit truisms
I hear the buzz
🤦🏿♂️🤦🏿♂️ I’m so happy for this turnaround but please god do not allow them to get that sixth seed.
celtics and pistons shaking rn
Hornets going to the ECF and I’m not even fucking joking. There’s no one in the east I would pick over them in a 7 game series
Detroit?
Gonna be an actual fight again if they meet up lol
It’d be an ECF between Greensboro and Motor City by game 4 with how many suspensions would be dished out.
CHARLOTTE HORNETS 2026 NBA CHAMPIONS
CALLING IT NOW
At this point, a top 6 finish isn’t out of the question.
This year we have beat the last three nba champs by 29, 26, and 23 points on the road. Insane run from the bugs. God knows we deserve it after watching this team do fuck all for 24 years
Emeka Okafor and Gerald Wallace Bobcat teams dreamed of this day
Waive Tre Mann and send him to South Korea. Love tho Moose.
That back injury really fked him up
Celtics got B2A by the Hornets. Good for them man hope they can make some noise in the playoffs.
Ive seen the hornets six times this year and in each one Kon torches
Bring back those 90s unis and we all Hornets fans
And the throwback Starter jacket
16-3 actually
One of those 3 losses came to the Pistons in the brawl game, and the other two were close losses in Charlotte to the Rockets (105-101) and Cavaliers (118-113) while Miles Bridges and Moussa Diabaté were suspended. Watching that Pistons game, odds are they were losing that game no matter what, but I doubt they would’ve lost to the Rockets and Cavs if Bridges and Diabaté weren’t suspended. They’d just blown out the Rockets in Houston 2 weeks earlier and were only 5 points worse without Bridges and Diabate.
Lamelo gets a bad rep, I’m rooting for them to make noise in the playoffs this year so people can more confidently admit they enjoy his on court antics. Even just watching him facilitate tonight was fun, the Hornets move the ball really well and have the shooters to make you pay for it.
LaMelo in his rookie year played 51 games and we were a 33 win team.
The last (and only) time he played 60+ games we were a 43 win team (sophomore year).
This year, he’s played 52 games so far and we’ve won 32.
And people say he doesn’t impact winning. *rolls eyes*
Their record is hitting and running like LaMelo
In what alternate universe did I just got dragged into now the Hornets are all of a sudden a good team
Drafted one of the best 3 point shooters in the league, a serviceable backup C and a serviceable backup guard all in one year.
Moussa gets thrown away by the Clippers, signed on a two-way, played his way into a contract and is a demon.
Some protagonist shit.
This is not excellent for Clippers fans.
Man this team unexpectedly became incredible during this season.
They are one of the most enjoyable and hottest teams in the league.
Could see them potentially snagging the 6 seed and they will probably get a 7-9 seed. Will be interesting to see how they handle the play-in and/or playoffs.
Has any one team this year held 3 straight opponents under 93 points??
Most obvious first round upset.
That first round Pistons v. Hornets series is gonna be wild.
Imagine playoff highlights with Eric Collins. He’s 100% losing his mind and prolly voice
