Unbelievable Jared McCain stat (courtesy of KOC): in 11 games with the Thunder, McCain has 21 plays with dribble hand-offs. In 37 games with the Sixers he registered 8 (!) total. How is that possible?
Admittedly, I did not watch much of the Sixers in the first half of the season, but it seems really perplexing they did not try to get him shots this way. His off-ball movement is sharp, and Embiid is like the ideal partner for such an action (JJ and Seth Curry ate off this, even Marco Belinelli for that one stretch). Even a huge big like Drummond could be a good fit, maybe with not much dribbling. I don’t really think McCain has the pop to create by himself against most defenders (nothing wrong with that, few do) so I am curious - what type of shots did he even get this season in Philly? And did he get a more steady diet of DHOs at the start of last season?
