[Highlight] Victor Wembanyama gets his 5th block of the first half and then proceeds to drain a 3-pointer on the offensive end.
The block and long distance three-pointer combo is like Victor’s Kamehameha
What would be his Spirit Bomb?
His self Alley-oop
Block and an oop.
Him and Alysa Liu performing the forbidden Iron Lotus move
Not a spirit bomb because he completes it in the same game.
3 point line dunk?
Don’t forget the wink!
He wasn’t attempting those lately, I’ve missed them.
Victor Wembanyamehameha!
If there was a stat that tracked most three-points immediately after making a defensive block, he would have to be up there.
That wink has to become a gif
No wonder Drumund fouled him after that lol
Since we can’t post them in the comments: https://www.reddit.com/user/AchtCocainAchtBier/comments/1rk9s8k/the_wemby_wink/
Doing the Lord’s work
except it’s a blink lol. his other eye closes too. (I thought it was a wink at first too)
Love the scorebug
soooooo good
Pairing that with the 76ers vintage logo is chef’s kiss.
I was thinking I might feel a little old saying it, but damn it’s so clean. So perfect.
Yeeesssss! So simple too
They should make it a once a month thing during the season moving forward, one time isn’t enough.
90s night on nbc, make it a marquee matchup each time.
All that’s missing is faux static from the box tv
Hard to see shot clock tho
I was thinking the same thing. NBA back on NBC has been awesome
BUH BUH BUH BUH BUH BASKETBALL
Block and a three is a 100% fg
Has anyone actually looked up his 3P FG on possessions immediately after a block?
Yes, some guys tracked it in the spurs sub. Block > 3 was like 60%
It was 100% when I first did it. I really need to update though. I think it’s probably not far off. Unless someone updates more recently.
Yeah. I did. I have to update it though. He missed a couple so he might only be around 70%-80% now.

Bruh he’s insane
He plays defense like everyone else is a little kid.
I love how often Wemby keeps his blocks in play.
I’m probably making this up, but I think Duncan might have helped with that. While Timmy wasn’t a massive shot blocker, he was good enough at it, and probably one of the best at keeping the ball in play for his team after a block
While Timmy wasn’t a massive shot blocker
He was averaging 2.2 per game brother.
Not just that Tim Duncan is 6th all time in regular season blocks, 1st all time in playoff blocks and 3rd all time in total blocks.
He’s literally one of the best shot blockers in NBA history.
Old comment of mine I like to spread
Another fun stat to compare is Wemby also has 7 goaltends this season which is just about half the goaltending violations that Timmy had for his entire career… Yes that is correct.
Timmy had 15 defensive goaltending total in 19 seasons. Nic Claxton was last year’s league leader with 21.
It gets better. Most of Timmy’s goaltending calls were in his first few seasons. From the 03-04 season until he retired in 15-16, he was called for a grand total of 3 goaltendings!. That’s 12 seasons. That’s absurd, especially when you consider that more guys were scoring in the paint in his era.
To put that into perspective, another similar power forward who played in Duncan’s era and had a similar longevity, Kevin Garnett, was called for 157 goaltends in his career. Not to mention the uncalled goaltending he would had for his blocks after the whistle ;)
Victor Wembanyama so far has 29 goaltending for the little time he’s had in the league. ~4735 Mins
To an even greater perspective Javale Mcgee was called for more than double (33) goaltending’s in 2019 (1671 minutes played) than Timmy had through his whole career. (47368 minutes played).
It’s astounding.
And here is a recent reply by r/ CitizenCue that helps contextualise this further:
You’re missing a lot of the context that makes this impressive. Here’s another way of saying it: Garnett had a career block-to-goal-tends ratio of 2037:157, or 13:1. Wemby’s ratio is slightly better at 533:29, or 18:1. Duncan on the other hand… had a career block-to-goal-tends ratio of 3020:15, or 201:1. Duncan was incredibly clean.

Part of that is also age (Duncan turned 22 in his rookie year, Victor just turned 22 last month in his 3rd season, and reach. Victor can get much higher so he’s capable of challenging shots at their apex which leads to some more goaltending calls in addition to more blocks.
People forgetting how good my GOAT was 🥲
He wasn’t massive though. Hes only like 250 and not even 7 ft tall
If Shaq didn’t exist then Duncan would’ve been known as the imposing bruiser style of big in his era. He played big, was bigger than most other bigs during his time.
It’s like Joker now, he’s massive but not above 7ft either and uses his body extremely well, nearly impossible to guard.
It’s funny because you’d never know it by looking at them but Duncan was the much stronger basketball player than David Robinson.
The Admiral looked like a statue of a god but had a higher center of gravity and was top heavy.
Duncan looked like a thicker swimmer but had an insanely powerful lower body. Duncan and Yao were literally the only two guys Shaq couldn’t overpower in the post.
First half of Duncan’s career he was a heavy big that would definitely muscle people in the post. In 2011 after the playoff loss to the grizzlies duncan lost about 15-20 lbs in the off season to help with his knees.
Tim Duncan is one of the best shot blockers of all time. Change your flair if you disagree lol
WHAT!? Did you ever watch Tim Duncan play basketball?
Correction: Timmy was a massive shot blocker.
Duncan might be the best (not most prolific) shot blocker of all time because of how good he was about getting his blocks recovered by his team.
Think this was ome of Dwight’s biggest issues based on a random YouTube vid
Don’t forget the wink. That should be a stat too.

Bol Bol /s
skill wise there are many that are better including duncan. Attribute wise and overall, it is wemby.
Defensive instincts, positioning, and timing are great, but you can’t teach or train a mobile 7’5 frame with a 10ft+ standing reach. Wemby is already the most dominant defensive big in history and it’s not particularly close.
It’s honestly unbelievable, back then we watched The Dream, Mutombo or DRob and thought they were the pinnacle of athletic mobility on defense and this guy is 2 tiers a above them.
Wemby is 1 of 1
well yes. i think our comments completely agree with each other. But reddit favors you today.
Puta madre.
Qué jugada
What can’t he bru we got Wilt in 2026
It’s like Wilt and KD put together, honestly insane
Stop, we’re already dead
Horrendous performance by Drummond holy shit
Wemby with the elder abuse
Unc just wants to foul out and go home, none of this alien shit
Wasn’t Drummond calling him a “softie” a couple of weeks ago?
Edit ah my bad saw a short recently but it was from Dec 2024
It was last season when wemby ragebaited both him and embiid into ejections. After Drummond called him a softie.
Wemby really ruins throwback Tuesday because that doesn’t look like the 90s at all lol
I’m at the game, this in person had sixers fan just shaking their heads
I swear he shoots like 70% on threes directly after he blocks a shot
They did the math https://www.reddit.com/r/nba/comments/1rk98jf/comment/o8jcu6d/
It’s surprising that a player known for his high b-ball IQ , Andre Drummond, would try that shot on a 7’5 DPOY candidate.
Drummand was on something stupid last night. He tried to make this a 1 v 1 with Wemby for some reason including unnecessary 3s, pushing, shoving, hard fouls, bumps in the back. And Victor “marked” him like he usually does with guys trying 1v1 with him and just made him his bitch. He’s done that to Chet and many other guys throughout his career already.
The block, the 3, the wink. Dude is + 41 as I type this.
Vic got it all.
Oh boy
Wemby entered the NBA top 250 all time block leaders tonight at 568. 4 away from NBA/ABA combined. Reference: https://www.basketball-reference.com/leaders/blk_career.html
That’s insane, this clip seems like it’s straight out of NBA 2k
That scoreboard is gooood! NBC knows what they are doing.
What if he keeps improving? What then? WHAT IS HIS FINAL FORM?
imagine this defense with even like 70-80% of KDs offense
+41 with 10 points on 3⁄5 shooting in 24 minutes. That’s insane.
If he gets a few more blocks, then they need to do whatever they can to get that quadruple double.
he has the potential to be a good 3-and-D player
Offensively raw lol
The wink as he trots down the floor is so disrespectful.
He swatted him on the block, dribbled down the court, told Drummond to come out and guard him twice, Drummond chose to give him space so Wemby casually drilled the deep 3 and winks at Drummond..
I’m aroused
Think they missed a block too. Not sure if it was maxey or VJ that took a 3 but looked like wemby got a finger on the shot and it fell short
If only they still had mc Cain to provide some perimeter defense…
Yall waiting for the government to drop some UFO secrets meanwhile we already have an alien among us😂🤯
What the fuck are we doing bro he is not supposed to be this good already. We needed more time to prepare. My team still don’t play defense wtf are we gonna do?! 😂😭
That’s an awesome scorebug
why is this legal
Teams should know this by now that after a Wemby block, they have to at least quadruple team him from three.
This guy
Best scorebug of all time
How much hype can one kid live up to? This is fun.
Drummond deserves a “don’t you know who i am?” for this hook.
He’s cheat code for NBA as fuck.
2k type shit
That’s his signature haha
Wemby is honestly a cheat code. Seeing a guy that size move like that and then just knock down a transition three is terrifying.
He’s literally Brendan Fraser in bedazzled but it’s not fiction
This guy might be good
Lol myplayer type shit right there
That court looks awesome, big plus for the slick sixers logo too
This guys gonna arguably be one of the greatest players of all time. Please stay healthy.
A myplayer come to life. Like Paul George before the injuries but better
So glad the Spurs never dishonored the NBA by tanking during this rebuild. It’d be a real stain on the league if that had been allowed to happen.
Well, he is playing against small children
Wemby OP NBA pls nerf
Scoreboard reminding me of my childhood.
I turned this game off yesterday because Victor was too good and it was just a blowout.
WTF did I just witness
Absurd.
Weird to hear Bob Costas talking about something other than how Giancarlo Stanton’s entire lower body has the structural integrity of a poorly balanced ice sculpture.
This dudes either gonna be the Marcadez Lewis or the Drew Dalman of the NBA. He’s too big.
better than on the defensive end
Wemby block, Wemby 3, Wemby 5 point swing.
The old logo and the scoreboard!!
Wemby vs Drummond is two people playing different sports on the same court
Man, he is on his way to being the best player in the world. I say 1 or 2 more years, and he’ll be him.
It’s a great highlight but I hate that this is going to encourage Wemby to keep taking 3s. It seems like he’s been forcing them recently and his 3FG% has to be extremely low the last few weeks.
Vintage scorebug is beautiful
That was cold! GEEZ! and the wink!
Wemby’s version of the LeFuckYou three
