Unless you’re Ant, apparently. Yes, he gets a lot of free throws, but he also has a wild number of missed calls. It’s the curse of his size.

To be clear, I don’t blame Jokic - he should do everything he can to win. It’s just that refs are outmatched by players’ ability to flop and the league doesn’t really want to hand out punishments to stars for any of that.

It’s not the foul baiting that bothers me. Players do that, and I hate it, but that’s the game. I’m not going to bitch about Jokic baiting for shooting fouls when Harden, Shai, Brunson and others are all doing the same or worse. What I don’t like from Jokic is the off-the-ball stuff, and that sneaky little forearm shove he does to drivers who’re off their feet instead of actually playing defense.

Ya they did miss some calls. But watching this game live it was the Nuggets gridning the shot clock into physical defense on one end and then either a 3 pter or George cleanly beating the defense for an uncontested layup on the other end. Or turnovers leading to fast break points. There wasnt a lot of opportunity for fouls to be called against the Nuggets.

I don’t think so - Harkless not only was out of position which made the contact inevitable but his hand tapped Murray in the junk before the knee contact happened.

I don’t like the first one, on Konchar. Jokic holds the ball out straight and low and raises his arms into Konchar’s; he’s the one initiating that contact. That should be a no-call, I think.

Murray/Harkless at 3:03 is a horrible call. Harkless jumps past Murray, who has to contort himself to create contact for the foul. Yeah, Harkless touches him on the way past but that’s incidental contact, come on.

At 4:24, Jokic gets that call because he’s the MVP and Bailey’s a rookie; that absolutely could have gone either way. He’s got his elbows up in both Harkless’s and Bailey’s faces. They’re down low, not grabbing and he’s swinging his upper body around to try to make space.

4:39, Bailey cleanly knocks the ball out of Jokic’s hands.

5:24, there’s an obvious reach on George that’s no-called to keep Jokic in the game. Jokic goes all the way across his body and makes contact with his opposite-side shoulder; it’s super weak defense and George gets the blowby, which is the only thing keeping the no-call defensible.

The Harkless call on Murray at 6:40 is neither wrong nor right; it’s a judgement call and I don’t think it fit the way the game was officiated in the first three quarters. That leads to the insane one where Jokic bulldozes Filipowski into the ground. It’s crazy that that’s not a foul on Jokic.

The overturned Jokic foul on George is horrible. I fucking hate that kind of defense. Pushing a guy while he’s in the air is dangerous and it’s a foul, no matter how sneaky you are with your forearm. And it’s a clear push; his elbow is in George’s midsection and George ends up under the backboard with his legs twisted.
