Yeah, there were a couple plays in the first half that were absolutely maddening. Make an easy pass to a guy on the perimeter to reset the offense? Never heard of her. Drive and kick? Best I can do is contested layup into three defenders. It was kinda ugly sometimes… Mathurin might well turn out to be a useful piece for y’all but he’s got to decide he has teammates and learn to actually pass them the ball.

Norm is an elite shooter who differentiates from other pure shooters because he likes attacking the rim and foul baiting.

But his handle is weak and that’s a huge reason why he can’t playmake for others or even take the pressure off of lead ball handlers (which LAC struggled with last year). There’s a reason you never see him navigate the court with the ball and probe defenses.

Luckily he gets to his spots well, but it’s rarely on ball, and if it is, it’s basically using his gravity to get defenders to bite, followed by driving or doing a quick move to a middie.

Mathurin has been hot and cold so far because of his tunnel vision, although he’s generally a positive for the court. He’s won us some games that we’d have no shot without him, but he’s also had some games where I hope the ball goes into anybody’s hands but his.

His grit and aggressiveness gives the Clippers a consistent edge on the court, as well as his ability to scam free throws with no Harden lol. He’s also only 23 and very willing to learn, so I think he could be a true #2 option next season if his BBIQ develops well.

It’s not impossible but right now I’d take OKC hanging on. OKC’s got a much more challenging schedule ahead (third in SOS compared to the Spurs at fifteenth), but San Antonio might choose to rest Wemby where they can before the playoffs start. Still, the team fundamentally changed and adapted, and Kerr clearly made no real effort to find the proper way to use Kuminga. We all understand he has flaws, but he still has more than enough talent that he at minimum deserved minutes off the bench.

Most coaches will typically say: “We need time to figure it out.” Kerr basically gave him a short leash, and then decided he’d rather play notably less talented guys and stay mediocre than trying to work around the talent.

As someone who has watched countless flawed players get opportunities on the team, it’s wild that Kuminga, who is more talented than any of the flawed guys I’ve seen on LAC, basically was hidden on the bench.

The reality is that Zu is a solid C on a great contract who was elevated to a good/great C when playing with Harden and the right system. His value was only going to go down with us, while I’m sure he’ll thrive with the Pacers entire roster. Hali/Nembhard/Smith/Siakam/Zu is basically perfect around him, and if they get a top 4 pick, they’ll be even more amazing.

It’s looking like Mathurin may be retainable on a reasonable contract and the pick situation is nice either way.

Honestly love what the Clippers have done. They traded an old Harden for a much younger high potential player and a second. And then they traded Zubac for essentially two unprotected firsts (2029, 2031) and a second. For a team strapped of assets, that’s a very nice quick retool that costs you basically nothing.

well deserved loss, warrior fans think they can still make it deep into play offs let alone win a chip when Curry is back, but in reality the warriors looking like a bunch of bums where that probably can’t beat the wizards. Earth to warrior fans, look at the denver nuggets, with Jokic out and Jamal being out some of the games because of load management they still pulled out more wins than losses. Jaylen Brown is carrying the celtics during Tatums injury period, OKC and Spurs were more than fine when SGA, Wemby, and Harper were out for a bit. You guys don’t even have a 3rd option let alone decent role plays that can make their open 3s consistently. You guys literally have no slashes outside from Jimmy that gets to the line frequently, maybe deanthony melton, but thats someone thats on a minute restriction and coming off of a torn ACL. Your team is full of old and injury prone sick players and rookies. Your drafts have been horrible and trade players for peanuts. When Lacob decided to do his whole 2 timeline was when this franchise was cooked. You either commit to one or the other, unless if you were gifted a generational player like Luka doncic to your franchise playing with your old veteran super star lol.
