[Highlight] Jokic stays in the game after his sixth foul call is overturned
nba to jazz: try to win plz
jazz: ok
refs to jazz: lol fuck you
betting houses to silver: make sure jazz lose
silver to refs: make sure jazz lose
unbelievable
I thought you guys were convinced that the sports books were mad about the Jazz losing too much?
never seen any news complain about sports books being mad about jazz losing too much. It was adam silver who was dishing out the penalties, probably on behalf of the sports books.
I think you should read this comment out loud to yourself.
this subreddit is never going to be happy about anything, isn’t it
Youve seen a happy sports subreddit before?
Recency bias is a hell of a thing but it does feel like it’s significantly more egregious this year. SO many games youll see getting out of a hand and suddenly the refs will start making some of thee MOST ticky tacky calls in favor of the losing team to make it close again and when it’s with in like 10 points they go back to calling the game normally. Its fucking infuriating.
betting houses win way more if nuggets won today just fyi
I’m finally on board with Jazz tank after tonight
Welcome
Keyword is try. They don’t actually need to win.
lolll
That’s their reward
Jazz to refs: thanks guys
Yeah if I’m the Jazz I’m never trying to win again lmao
This is just what happens when you don’t have someone with star power. The nuggets have made 4 baskets this entire quarter and the refs have given them so many points at the line
i mean that was the story for the jazz all the way up to end of q3. the whistle was crazy for the jazz until the 4th. they had like 1 fg in the 3rd and the rest were freethrows for the lead until the final nuggets run
Yup I hate tanking but after this the jazz can do whatever they want
Yea this whole game was awful. The refs have REALLY wanted nuggets to win lately
Some straight up bullshit. Fan Duel pulled some strings
The BWW commercial timeline
It would be funny if this was how the NBA was going to start punishing tanking.
At the same time this shit is fucking embarrassing keeping Joker in the game of of that bullshit explanation.
Like let’s just stop basketball.
If it’s this blatant in our face, it’s essentially the refs saying, “Yeah what are you gonna do about it? Nothin.”
Can’t believe it took DraftKings that long to send the proper call to the refs.
Someone had a downpayment on the game but someone else had their kids college fund
I had a lot of money on the nuggets tbh thank you draft kings
I bet draftkings head office is in Secaucus
Where’s the “integrity of the league” Silver? This officiating is worse than the tanking
They must have not realized who they called the foul on
Now it’s just lol fuck the jazz like usual
Fuck this league
I’m a blazers fan so pretty much given up on the nba because of biased officiating but had seen some really good games recently and this was another great game until the refs had to remind me what a joke the nba is.
It’s crazy. I hate the NBA, but like the Jazz too much. Being a fan of a small market team is like having a son on drugs
Exactly. I can take the “lol no internet utah” comments because whatever, they don’t matter. But when you get shafted by the league like this it feels so bad. I’ll be a jazz fan til I die but sometimes I hate this league. I sometimes feel like a battered wife the way I take the pain and continue to keep coming back. We try to tank and we get shit for it, we try to win a rare game and we get destroyed by officiating. Oh well. Go jazz baby love da jazz
Right?! You gonna be mad about tanking but when they do play to win and earn a big upset the refs steal it from them. Fuck even having reviews if the refs are gonna take five minutes to overturn a call that was obviously correct.
What irrefutable evidence takes so long to determine?
Seriously speaking though, fining teams for tanking while doing fuck all about the ref crews is asinine and irresponsible. Silver is a joke.
Amen
Integrity was never a consideration for silver and that’s why they hired him.
He was literally pushing him. This game is fixed.
100% rigged for Denver. This shit is disgusting
Jokic might not get free throws but he gets away with such shitty fouls on defense
Half his points today are freethrows. He absolutely gets freethrows from grifting but you’re right in that he also draws random fouls that put opponent teams in the bonus and put people on foul trouble
he 100% does. Also the refs are so bipolar. They didn’t call anything for Jokic in the first 3 quarters and are now giving touch fouls
r/nba’s 12/25
Yeah but it’s Danny ainge who paid the refs off
who let r/nba mods ref this game
they were deleting all the posts earlier about jokics flops but reinstated them all after seeing everyone calling them out lmfao
lmfaoooooo man fuck the nuggets
I’ve had 1k-2k upvote posts deleted in the past about Jokic flopping antics saying we don’t post flopping highlights but they allow Luka SGA Embiid slander all the time.
At the height of Embiid slander one of the mods was making Embiid slander posts. At the same time, all the Jokic slander posts were getting pulled down.
Ainge made the call
He already committed two fouls before this (on Bailey and Filipowski) that they refused to call his 6th on. In fact they gave him free throws for them.
Of course they weren’t going to call him for this one.
Jokic is allowed to do that. He gets a bad whistle on offense but he gets a superstar whistle on defense and rebounds. He’s constantly shoving and hooking low bc he can’t elevate and never getting called for it. It usually balances out but today he also got 11 FT’s lmao
I’ve seen some terrible calls but that might be the worst ever.
Jokic really likes to push and hook someone. However, he acts like he was shoved whenever someone touches him.
I saw it live srry
And on top of the 17 to 3 free throw discrepancy in the fourth quarter at that point.
100% Some mafia members had a lot of money in this game for sure.
2021 Finals Game 6, 8 fouls
It wouldn’t have been crazy if it was initially a non-call. That kind of stuff doesn’t always get called.
But overturning it is crazy.
They need “clear and conclusive visual evidence that the initial adjudication was incorrect” to overturn, and there’s no way that video is clear and conclusive that the contact was marginal or legal. Jokic’s arm is against him as he’s pushed off balance and away from the basket.
Worst officiated game I’ve seen in years
I see this comment once a week lmao
Yet somehow, it’s always right
This exact shit is why the NBA and other leagues shouldn’t have gotten in bed with gambling companies. How can you ever trust anything after nights like this? It’s shortsighted chasing of profits now at the cost of integrity and trust in the game.
I mean it’s always been bad and there was big fbi investigation into point shaving by refs 15 or 20 years ago but it’s almost guaranteed to make the problem worse.
What’s crazy is that the investigation failed due to leaks because NBA executives were warned by the FBI in advance and adam silver was in that room. Now the rat fuck is commissioner
NBA is probably the most rigged big sports league in the world
Denver has taken 21 freethrows to the jazz 3…….
In just the fourth quarter. Only two were intentional.
Refs doing tricks on it
Wow
Anything for Jokic. Guy pretending to do a three shot now lmao.
The rest of his bs tonight was indefensible, his defense was atrocious too. But shooting a 3 when you know they’re gonna foul is just common sense
This whole quarter showed exactly why people don’t respect him
IMAGINE IF THIS WAS SOMEONE ELSE HAHAAHAH
Be careful man, Lowe and Simmons will declare you a VILLAIN after this comment!
To be fair refs pull these tricks all of the time at the end of games. When they can decide the game they’ll straight up do it
Imagine if KAT got this kinda whistle lol, mf would be the greatest big in NY history overnight
KAT has almost the exact same free throw attempt rate as Jokic
Imagine it was someone who plays for the Thunder… 🤣
who needs tanking when you have sports betting
It’s not sports betting it’s what happens whenever a superstar has 5 fouls
Betting sucks but people are braindead if they think it’s the only reason for bad officiating if this was Bruce Brown instead of Nikola Jokic he’s getting fouled out every time and you know it
With the way people talk here you’d think that officiating was always great until 2023
Except he would not, doesn’t matter superstar or not this has been the case all season
This has been a very consistent call in the NBA no matter who it is, Tyler Kolek a shitty role player straight up smacked Donovan Mitchell on the clutch and he got a call like this too
They’ve been very brain dead about this all season, if u even get a miniscule touch on the ball u can fuck up players and they don’t care
The rest of the game was awful with awful calls clearly benefiting Jokic/Denver but this one everyone would get this call because they’ve just been stupid
Throwback to when the rules analyst said on live TV in the finals that Draymond having five fouls absolutely changes how the refs officiate him
2 minute report gonna be spicy tomorrow
“Joker did no wrong, we actually should’ve tossed 2 jazz players for breathing on joker too much. Other than that all good”
Most disgusting game of the season
Jocic was assaulting people and getting away with no calls or calls on the other guy. Crazy work of a game by the refs.
I know there’s been worse. But I can barely remember them over the flood of nonsense calls I’ve been flooded with this season.
I remember Cooper Flagg was getting hacked all game a few weeks back and refs avoided each one
Bro it’s absolutely brain dead that u can barely even touch the ball and then anything else is not a foul, we’ve seen straight up smacks to the head like the Mitchell vs the Knicks one and it’s somehow not a foul
Who the fuck came up with this shitty ass rule lmao
He was even armchecking him with his left too
nah you see his thumb barely touches the ball so therefore the forearm push into his stomach is completely fine!
It’s super inconsistent. Sometimes they say ball first and arm after is still a foul if the scorer still has control of the ball. Then sometimes it’s just incidental contact.
I mean they’ve been pretty consistent with this imo, they straight up zoom 50x and slowmow 0.000025x and a slight touch on the ball and u get away with it
Best example i can remember is Tyler Kolek straight up smacking Donovan Mitchell while grabbing his jersey and it was called a clean block lmao
This gotta be mandela effect cus what do you mean he was “grabbing his jersey”?? Most he did was have his hand on his shoulder
Apples to Oranges. Jokic has his arm pushing on George first, then touches the ball. In the christmas game, Kolek touched ball first and then his arm hit Mitchell immediately afterward, hence why it was overturned. Not to mention he didn’t smack his head
I never wanna see Nuggets fans complaining that the refs help the Lakers. I have never seen a game this rigged, that too against a clearly tanking team.
This is probably the worst refereeing I’ve seen since your Kings series in 2002, lol. Disgusting
Sir you’re claiming this game is up there with the most egregiously refereed games of all time? 2006 Finals territory?
Can’t be mad at the Jazz for tanking if you won’t let them play basketball.
Sad ass 4th quarter. Refs working over time. 21 free throws with 4 made buckets for Denver
Rigged ass game
Why should Utah try to win when the nba is going out of their way to screw them like this
In the end this is for the best for them to
LMAO took them 10 minutes to review and get it wrong, fucking morons
I mean call on the floor was a foul. Is there enough between the low hand and the high hand to overrule and say it wasn’t? I don’t think so.
That what makes it really crazy, if they no called to begin with then fine but there’s no way you can say it’s clearly and obviously NOT a foul. And the time they take on these reviews is ridiculous, needs to be a 2 minute limit or something, if you’re debating it for five minutes it isn’t clear and obvious.
According to the Nuggets color guy the ref did a slap motion after the initial call, indicating that the high hand was what they initially called it for. The replay exonerates that aspect, so maybe they just stopped there, or used that as an excuse to overturn? I for sure thought it would stand due to Jokic’s low hand clearly pushing
Ya don’t think they mentioned the low hand but obviously should have been looked at in the 5 minutes they were reviewing, also was really hard to see in all the replays on tv where exactly contact was made with the high hand.
Relatively new to basketball, can someone explain how this WOULD be a foul? There’s no hold, his arm isn’t wrapped around him, he’s close sure, but he’s pushing him slightly at best. Again, real question, I’ve watched like half of a basketball game
Didn’t watch the game, and I hear a lot of people bitchin about fouls late by him.
But this one looks pretty weak to makes the call on in the first place. At best he makes contact with the low wrist, but the dude doesn’t look like he changed direction even.
He fouled out like 3 times in the last minute lol what a disgusting game
Terrible
it literally look like a foul
Because it is
Even if his right hand didn’t touch him, did they not even look at Jokic’s left hand on the hip pushing? SMH
That’s a lowlight
Am I tripping or is that not much of a foul?
Jokic has been pathetic this game, especially with the fouls on Keyonte and Filipowski, but I don’t see that much in this one
Yeah I thought I was going crazy rewatching the replay over and over. Jokic has gotten away with bullshit in other plays tonight but this one isn’t as bad as people are making it out to be.
Not surprised
You guys are acting like Keyonte had to get fucking wheeled out of the arena. Lmao.
This is marginal ass contact and i dont even like Jokic.
Those free throw numbers in the 4th they just showed. LMAO!
I ain’t never seen nothing like this 🤣🤣🤣
welp our favorite sport is officially cooked… time to move onto Curling
Definitely not a foul.
Vegas baby.
Lmao 🤣 I guess the Jazz get the desired outcome for the tank but man this shit is ridiculously one sided officiating
But no refs hate Jokic. look at his arms so many scratches. Jokic gets no love from refs
How many steps do you get without dribbling?
Holy fuck this game is disgusting to watch but you can’t look away as you want to know how much refs and Jokic can push its limits of being so shameless.
Never thought I’d say it took a Ref throw and jokic flop 2piece to beat the jazz
I used to eat like Jokic. He is fat on purpose. When I see jokic eat as he is now it reminds me of how I used to eat and it is frustrating and pisses me off that the NBA allows it. Not proud of it, I was known as Joey chestnut at my local Golden Corral and went through a phase when I ate triple servings of everything. Big rack of ribs turns to my blindside, didn’t care who was there. Charge right into the dessert. Smash into the best steak on D while going for the mashed potato’s, come what may. Limited cardio moves. So make no mistake about it. Jokic knows what he’s doing. He knows people will be disgusted. He knows his appetite is unlimited and this is how he can win. He knows people will go away when he starts eating, think twice on their diet, etc. He will only be stopped by a healthy meal like carrots, lettuce, broccoli, etc. Or by an obviously more balanced carb with equal Type A like wheat bread. He didn’t intend to be obese, but he certainly intends to show you that he doesn’t care if you get disgusted when his fat belly shakes over you. At least that’s how I used to eat. But that was lunchtime. Eventually I got to dinner, ate w bigger servings, ate real fatty foods w hostess. There’s no doubt in my mind Jokic eats more than some villages.
this overturn isnt that crazy tbh, there were way crazier calls. contact was pretty marginal. key def can finish thru that
I mean it was very clearly not a foul, but this sub is really on one against Jokic tonight so go off
Travel asf
Travel
Yeah I was looking for this comment
These refs are trash
Thats a fucking foul this may be the most blatantly rigged game ive ever seen
Jokic should have 10 fouls
The silver files in 20 years will have this game as an example of obvious fixing
Let them enjoy it now. Nuggets fans know exactly what’s coming in the playoffs yet again.
OKC - damn we’re the most hated in the league? Jokic - hold my horses beer
jokic pr gonna be working overtime tonight
Are we just going to ignore the fact that that George carried the ball like a running back there? How is that not a travel?
Referees getting fined for aiding and abetting the tank
Fuck these refs, and fuck Adam Silver and the powers that be that make this game and most other games damn near unwatchable.
They avoided four other calls in the 4th to avoid getting him six. This is an atrocious game for him.
The officiating was absolutely dog water. Unreal that wasn’t called a foul.
Let the hate flow through you.
Jokic is a bitch. Always asking for a foul but act like he never committed a foul.
How much money will the Kings bettors get if they would have won?
Jokic and the refs just turned me from a fan to a straight up hater. Fuck that sloppy ogre
And they wonder why viewership is down , the nba 100% influences some games
xbox kinect mic
This league has a massive officiating problem, far and away worse than any other
I’m confused. I always thought ball first and arm after is still a foul if the scorer still has control of the ball when the contact happens.
Win win for the jazz regardless…… shitty officials
And they wonder why they’re tanking
NBA is rigged. Especially with all the gambling partnerships now
You know I can understand missing a call in the moment because things happen extremely fast, but “missing” something in slow motion and repeated multiple times is just absurd.
But think of how nice it was for the city of New Orleans
Both teams got their desired outcome. Was hilariously bad though.
If I was a jazz player. Id take my clothes off and run naked to make a point about ref being ass lmao.
This reminds me of Booker taking a foul in the NBA finals that would have fouled him out and the refs blatantly ignoring it which even causes Booker to be shocked lol. Never seen refs trying to make one team win with all their might in a while
I mean Jokic had an all time pathetic performance this game and I’m all here for it, but I can definitely see how that’s overturned.
His left arm touches the player but it’s hard to see how much of an impact it really had
in the first half they just held jokic with 2 guys every possession, literally just grabbing his legs in front of the ref and no call, then suddenly in the 4th just calling touch fouls
we’re probably gonna need a new commissioner+10 years to get refs being consistent for a single fucking night
Interesting. Very interesting indeed.
Nothing like a 5 minute review just to get it wrong.
Jokic is turning into a Slick Willie type of player
Why are the refs reviewing their own call? Also could the replay tv they are looking at be any smaller. Why doesn’t the NBA have a replay office that reviews all calls like the MLB or NHL?
The do. They review it with the league office in real time.
I didn’t think you could push players in the air
Its simply rigged
DAWG WHAT!
One way to circumvent the refs effect is by chucking up threes and staying far away from any opposing players with good passing. Seen enough questionable reffing through the years and that’s one avenue to a win.
Jazz paying Adam silver to not give us the pick
These Jazz announcers sound miserable.
Fouls 1-5: easy
Foul 6: impossible
Does anyone not clearly see him hack the shooting arm? Why has nobody seen it?
Like what are we even doing man?
He fucking jumps towards George while his hand is on George’s waist. What is so legal and incidental in that? Are watching the same video as the entire replace centre?
What a joke
Honestly shocked this is still up
Disgusting 🤮
Hey Doris, care to comment on this?
Holy shit that footwork is terrible lol
The NBA is a business.
integrity of the game
His boy did get him on the floor first
As a nuggets fan at the game last night I can confidently say the Jazz should have won that game. There were so many egregiously bad calls against the jazz in the last 5 minutes. Ultimately it was better for the jazz to have lost that game but those players deserved a win, they were giving it their all.
Did he get him on the arm? I wasn’t watching the game these are the only 2 angles I’ve seen
