Was surprised to see this, thought Chet and Hartenstein would be leading them in efficiency (as bigs usually do), but interestingly its the 2 guards, SGA and Isaiah Joe.

SGA obviously just a hyper-efficient 3-level scorer, but Isaiah Joe has been shooting the cover off the ball this season, averaging 11 PPG with a 43% 3-point percentage on 6 3-point attempts per game.

He has been beyond hot lately. 52 3% from 3 on 7.3 attempts over his past 10 games. Over this stretch he’s averaging 15.⁹⁄₃.³⁄₁.8 on 71.8% TS with 1.7 steals just to add even more value

He had one poor shooting game going ¹⁄₅ from 3 and not playing the second half due to injury, the other 9 games his worst 3 point shooting was going ³⁄₇ at 42%. Also shooting ²⁷⁄₂₉ from the line. Also multiple steals in ⁶⁄₁₀ games including a game with 5.

If you look at league stats for the past 10 games each player has played, Isaiah joe is #6 for 3PM and #1 for 3P% for that top group in makes. Hes up with Kon as the current hottest shooter in the league

Yeah it was rough last year. Tossed around on defense every time down the court, and then locked up in the corner. He’s definitely getting a lot more shots coming from moving around off-ball. The defense thing mostly comes down to size. So hopefully he’s got enough weight on this year.

For years they have kinda matched Joe’s mins with Shai because of the awesome small small pnr they run, but I wonder if Joe + Hartenstein shouldn’t play all the non Shai mins because of their handoff chemistry.

Of course this could just mean just play Joe 25 minutes per game, but you can’t do that when they have everyone healthy

Busting out one of my favorite small-guard True Shooting stats, though it is otherwise unrelated: John Stockton led the Utah Jazz in TS% in twelve of his nineteen seasons, including in his 37-, 38- and 39-year old seasons. He finished outside the top 3 on the team one time: as a 36 year old in the lockout year, by 0.1 to Byron Russell. In ‘87-88, his TS% was 64.5%; second-highest on the team was 57.3%. In Malone’s first MVP year, he had a TS% of 60%, good for second on the team; Stockton was at 65.6%. Horrible guy, but a fucking good player.
