[Highlight] Hartenstein to Joe connection leads to back to back 3s
What does OKC do about Hartenstein this offseason?
Teach him how to plant trees, I thought that was pretty obvious
I don’t get it.
You can if you aspire to
I don’t get how it relates to a question about Hartenstein and OKC.
Hartenstien could be good at trimming trees, just like some Clippers
Clippers fan acting blind lmao
I don’t get how their comment relates to the question.
They are joking about how the Thunder will pay Ihart under the table like khawi was/is
That seems unnecessarily disrespectful to Hartenstein. Unlike Kawhi, he doesn’t have a known history of surrounding himself with grifters to set up those kinds of deals.
It’s a joke that basically is saying, by any means necessary. We have to keep the guy.
by any means necessary
He has a team option for next season though, OKC can just pick it up without need for shenanigans.
Yeah. One year into the 2nd apron won’t hurt, it’s the repeater.
But Dort is probably in his last year with us, so provided we trade him for picks then that gives some cap relief.
Start a tree company
Sign him to a lower cost long term deal or if they think he walks they probably accept the team option. The 2nd apron impacts targeting outside player right? OKC relies on draft picks and they have plenty.
Yeah. None of the penalties around the second apron will really effect OKC the way people think. The Celtics only broke the team up because of the repeater tax, which OKC is years away from worrying about.
Do you think OKC will pick up Dort’s option?
Yes. They’re not just going to let him walk for nothing
What do you think the chances are that they would pick up his option then trade him?
i think presti will trade him wherever he wants to go.
I can’t think where dort would want to go other than OKC tbh
Raptors.
I actually think this is quite likely at this point.
With Mitchell, Wallace, Joe and now McCain demanding minutes, Dort isn’t as needed as he once was.
Only Wallace and Caruso can defend at his level, but having two replacements for him is pretty damn good, all things considered.
His team option at 18M is a steal, so they will likely have a number of of teams interested in making a trade.
If they could get 3 draft picks for Dort due to the light contract they could do it. He is a pretty important part of the team culture though as he was there from start. He embodies the hard work and ungrateful or 2nd rounds can come up and make impact. It is a business though but I can see them holding on to him if he is willing to stay another year. Trade maybe his call if he wants a bigger role on offense.
I mean not if they’re ungrateful they can’t
50⁄50, either they do or they don’t
Pretty good
Yes, and then trade
Yes, they’ll pick it up for a sign and trade.
They trade dort.
They need him too much. They don’t have any big like him and he’s a very hard archetype to replace in general. I think they’ll be looking to move one of the perimeter hounds (Dort recently signed with Klutch???)
They’re going to have to make some very tough decisions regarding a lot of players. Not only iHart, but also Dort, Caruso, Wallace, and others down the road. They’re so elite at drafting and making trades/FA signings that they’re just not going to be able to keep everyone.
Regarding Hartenstein, he’ll be a tough player to lose because he has some pretty unique skill sets. He’s a pretty insane passer and makes great decisions with the basketball. He also is an elite screen setter. He finishes well at the rim, rebounds very well, and has that little push/floater shot he can consistently make. He fits so well with OKC’s play style as well.
feels like the fucked up but good move is to trade JDub as soon as they find another gem in the drafts
I think they’d originally planned on using this season to evaluate whether Sorber could be his replacement. But Sorber’s torn ACL fucked that up. Now, I’ll be shocked if they don’t bring him back next season. He’s proven too important on both sides of the ball. He’s passed Dort as a priority to bring back.
Pick up his option and go into the second apron. People are too afraid of the second apron. It’s prohibitive for building a team, but doesn’t do all that much (besides ramp a tax bill) if you already have the team.
Dort’s the more interesting conversation. Do they just have a huge tax bill for a year, or do they dump him?
Having jmac on the court just opens up the spacing so much for Joe.
Two moving screens
