I think the argument is that LeBron used to be a heavy numbers guy. He would analyze where he was most efficient on the floor and focus on those shots. Avoid shots where he wasn’t.

It wasn’t as simple as having a short term memory and taking whatever shot. Every player has their most efficient spots. Lebron is a numbers guy because he still knows what shooter should only be shooting from the corner. Part of what makes him a great passer is knowing where each player is most efficient.
