[Highlight] Andrew Wiggins receives a hard elbow to the face from Alperen Sengun (with replays). Wiggins went to the locker room to gets some stitches and then returned to the game later
It’s always interesting to watch these hard hits on replay, because you realize late physical reactions aren’t necessarily a flop.
It’s even more interesting how much gets called flops as well because there is flopping but these dudes are going full force all game what may look like a little blow be legit smacks
Why are there late reactions then? I’ve probably watched 100+ MMA fights and ive never seen a dude react late like that after getting hit in the face.
You can get hit hard and still flop.
You need to watch more MMA fights because when it comes to delayed KOs, one instantly popped to my mind, Barboza vs Burgos. They’re rare but they happen.

Not making any generalizations about Sengun, more just that move in general. There’s other ways to clear space. Swinging elbows above the shoulders is almost always intentional and is often a flagrant foul

I’ve seen Embiid do this the most. He swings his arms and does it on a spin as well to generate even more momentum. It rarely looks intentional, but it’s so braindead sloppy that IMO it should be a flagrant 2 each time. Control your limbs!
