Good to see. Feels like Charlotte hasn’t even really been given a chance to be a real sports city with the cards they’ve been dealt. In Raleigh they have great college sports and the hurricanes got really good, and suddenly they sell out every game and have one of the loudest arenas in the NHL. I could see same thing happening I. Charlotte if their teams start giving them something to root for

The Canes home arena has always been absolutely wild whenever they’ve been successful. 2002 Stanley Cup run. Winning the whole thing in 06. That barn was insane. It’s cathartic for people in the Triangle because it’s where all the NC State, Duke and UNC fans can combine in their fanhood. And everybody gets annihilated in the parking lot tailgating college football style before the games.

It was always a fun team for me, the 90s colors, the hornet logo itself, Muggsy. I love the fact they seem to have a great future ahead of them… but I cannot cheer for that POS that plays for them.

The Mark Williams/Nick Richards rotation wasn’t too bad either, seems like the Hornets have had good success in recent years to make the best out of raw athletic centers. You could even add Kai Jones before his breakdown.

I mean they proved to be serviceable enough for other teams to try and get them, recent years have shown it’s quite important to have athletic big men in your roster. At least for me they were good fantasy picks but you definitely saw them play more than me!

I donât think Kai was a serviceable nba player at any point. Richards was a disaster, weâre lucky suns were just box score watchers and thought he was valuable.
Were they even that bad in the context of a tanking team? Or did they suffer from the absences of Melo thus taking away their ability to be at least good lob threats?
Richards is fine as a depth big, not great and not a guy a contender wants but hes a warm blooded big, more than quite a few teams in the NBA have.
I wouldnât say 2 solid. Kalkbrenner looked a lot better at the start of the year to me, and heâs just a rookie, but once we swapped and got a lot better, he hasnât looked nearly as good to me. He gets bullied pretty easily by tougher dudes. If he can work on that toughness, weâll see. Still glad to have him though.
