[Highlight] Tyson fouls Daniss Jenkins at half court with 5 seconds left; Jenkins ties the game
Jokic been trying to get this call for 3 years
Mitchell too
He must be furious š
I feel like I’ve never seen someone successfully get the 3 free throws on one of those, wish it happened more to scare it off from happening.
same i wish there was a way to fix/discourage the end of game fouling overall but for now itās just part of the game
Teams that are up 3 should be penalized for intentionally fouling. 2 FTs and possession.
So teams losing are allowed to foul intentionally but teams winning arenāt? Itās unfortunate cuz itās boring but you canāt make it unfair like that
Itās not unfair.
Currently, the team thatās up getting fouled gets to keep their lead if they make two free throws. The team thatās down 3 getting fouled is at a total disadvantage unless they get a one in a million chance at successfully getting into their shooting motion while attempting a 3.
Penalizing the team thatās up from intentionally fouling forces them to play defense and makes end game situations both fair, keeps the spirit of the game, and is more exciting to watch.
I know you’re implying in end of game situations, but I’m thinking how funny this scenario would be like 4mins left in the first quarter
Make it all game, but only if a team is up exactly 3. Maximum chaos.
And there is no definition of āintentional foulā in the rule book.
Because the defender (from the leading team) can play really physical defense with hand check and stuff but with no intent of committing a foul.
Refs already look for legitimate defensive plays. Thatās how they determine what a transition take foul is.
Obviously there would be players playing physical defense in the hopes of getting a foul call but that would still come with way more disadvantages for the defense than just simply fouling a guy on the floor.
Didnāt Cade get one in Boston earlier this year? And he missed one?
yes
I’m fairly sure I’ve seen a sixer get it, maybe even Embiid at one point.
It was a bad foul. Usually the defender is already attached. Then you just time your foul for when they dribble the ball. This was just a terrible foul where he ran up right away and reached in/bear hugged. All he had to do was run with him for a moment then he could foul freely but dude paniced or he got inside his own head with something like “I can foul him now because I’m sure he will think I’m going to do the smart thing and not foul him right away,” but it’s probably the former.
Jokic is gonna be so pissed they gave him 3 free throws for this
Jokic is sending this clip to every ref in the league
The Jokic move that never works, worked? Ok…
Stupidity
Bro saw that coming and started his shot at the perfect time. Wow. It actually worked
Jenkinsanity
Never seen that called at least in the Silver era
Ricky Rubio did it for the Suns once⦠to tie the game and send it to OT
One of the crazier games I can remember
https://youtu.be/wFwjtLwwUPY?si=afJxb7Vgs-W6CKq9
This is Jokicās white whale man wtf
I DIDNT HEAR NO HORN
It ran out of air š
This is a crazy game
Even tho we lost it was one of the most fun games Iāve watched this season
Hoping for a fully healthy rematch for both teams
Absolutely Itāll be so sweet to shit on JB in the post
Wildly entertaining.
How can you not be romantic about basketball.
This is why these decisions and late game strategy/execution matter. And this why I don’t mind the freethrow game to see these strategies pay off.
Sometimes you get moments like this.
When Detroit is good basketball is better
Couldnāt agree more. If only Chicago would join the party.
Michael Jordan may disagree with you, but I agree with you
How does this have anything to do with being good lol you got gifted that
Yall shouldn’t have intentionally fouled then.
At half court up 3??? wtf?
Teams very often foul in that situation
Yes I know thatās what I am saying. What Ellis did is completely normal, but itās never called a shooting foul
Yea thatās some of the laziest shit Iāve seen all season
I like Jaylon Tyson, but I think heās gambling
Yeah that’s just terrible on his part, like he had a ton of time to stop and not foul him
Why would he think anyone would pull a 45 footer with 5s left? High iq as shit by Jenkins. Atkinson took the risk fouling up 3.
Because guys always try to do that when they’re down 3 with no TOs and in the bonus? It’s not like this is a new tactic by Jenkins. Just elite execution combined with elite choking by the Cavs.
That was such a soft foul if you are going to foul up three you need to wrap the guy up so he canāt get a shot up.
Of course it’s coming from the guy that made controversial statement that “It’sĀ Donovan Mitchell’s city now” in the media.
Tyson was so hype about his rebound a minute earlier.
of fucking course this game goes to overtime so the thunder nuggets game wonāt be aired, i fucking knew ts was gonna happen
It’s airing right now on ESPN News. They paused their programming in order to air Nuggets/Thunder. Just change the channel.
yeah i donāt have ESPNnews man
Did the 30 minutes of blaring horn noise make him lose his mind? What a bad foul.
Cavs fans. Who is the sideshow Bob crazy balding dude on your bench?
Haha I seen him too. Who dat?
Crazy comeback! Hope the Pistons can close it out in OT
And they wonder why viewership is down the last 2 minutes always end up taking so long filled with flopping and free throws .
This was such bs
Trash refs.
The officiating was rough tonight but this wasnāt part of that. Tyson was late with his foul, and fouled him while he was shooting.
Shouldnāt have even bothered, we suck at shooting just play real defense and this isnāt a problem
He wasnāt gonna shoot that with 5 seconds left. No chance. He felt contact coming and flailed. Refs rewarded him. First time Iāve ever seen this call result in free throws.
He was one million percent going to shoot that, the Pistons have done this before literally earlier this season with the same result. Everybody and their mom knew the cavs were fouling, so he got the shot up
Entire thing could have been avoided by playing defense against an awful three point shooting team with no timeouts going the length of the floor. You can disagree if you want, but shit aināt changing
Past half courtā¦with over 5 seconds left? Wouldāve been the dumbest fucking shot of the season.
Terrible refs, but you canāt tell me the NBA doesnāt incentivize refs to drag out games/ force ot.
Thatās exactly what I am saying.
Detroit fans downvoting this, youāre delusional. This is garbage and you know it. Bad both ways. Terrible officiating.
Honestly, people are probably downvoting because Pistons fans have seen some absolutely garbage games as far as officiating goes, and this one was about a 5 out of 10, maybe even a 4, when it comes to worst officiated games for the Pistons. There have been at least 5 games with the Pistons where both team’s fans were furious that the refs made the game straight up unwatchable. This game wasn’t unwatchable, and it really says a lot about what the Cavs have going on even with their most important players out.
Itās unwatchable when refs are this involved. There should not be a borderline call like that to send into OT. The integrity of the game is shit.
Just take the L and wish your stars be back
Daniss Jenkins is a great NBA story
undrafted, same draft year as Bronny but Lakers fans said its ok to waste a spot on a nepo baby cause nobody else is better
In the last 12 picks of the draft, thereās only 2 players that are better than Bronny lol
they’re all better than Bronny tbh
Damn libs fouling for no reason
