My guess is that this decision is effectively Plumlee over Biz.

And then Biz gets cut the moment there’s a buyout guy we want. (Anderson would’ve been nice if not for Minnesota, Middleton would be nice. Not sure who else could be available/likely).

But, assuming we didn’t want Lonzo or Georges Niang, there is no reason leaving the roster spot empty when we’re so far under the tax.

I don’t think it’s for the playtime, but for practice. Now they can have Plumlee sit on Biyombo’s shoulders and guard Wemby, while Olynyk has him in a headlock.

Just kidding but generally that’s a good reason to collect 7 footers. In college I hooped against a guy who was 6’9 and absolute cheeks, but he’s was on the D1 school team as a walk on I presume just to be a big body in practice

This is so good for the spurs because it fixes one of the biggest issues the spurs have especially for the playoffs. They can now run lineups of wemby and kornet without fear of foul trouble. Plumlee may not be the best but he can hold his own against the best of them. His job is easy, defend and rebound which i think he will do well. Imagine this spurs team gets another decent front court player. That would be truly terrifying. Its good that the spurs front office know the weaknesses of this team.

Ps. I am not a spurs fan. I am a mavericks fan but I will support the spurs this playoffs. Next year when we are back, fuck the spurs. Fuck Nico.
