[Cleveland Cavaliers official] Cavaliers guard Keon Ellis injured his left index finger in Wednesday night’s game at Milwaukee. A postgame examination by the Cavaliers’ medical staff, followed by X-rays taken at the arena, confirmed a non-displaced volar plate avulsion of his left index PIP joint.

Ellis will undergo treatment and continued evaluation and listed as QUESTIONABLE tonight at Detroit. His status will be provided as appropriate.

Haha yup! My biggest pet peeve with sports reporting has always been the injuries - whether it’s just how vague and ambiguous they make the injuries sound (like NHL saying “lower limb injury” for a high ankle sprain or fibular fracture) or when they try to get specific and sound smart they end up being wrong (a la “MRI shows torn ACL but no structural damage”). It just surprised me to see an injury report that was both specific and accurate.

by decent I don’t mean like ⁵⁰⁄₅₀, just for most players there is essentially no shot whatsoever. I’d give him like a 20-30% chance by the end of his career.

of course, my unbiased opinion is that Peja not being in the HoF is a travesty. that being said, basketball had much more of a history is Yugoslavia, so in the Hall’s eyes, Peja gets less credit for globalizing the game. Germany has Nowitzki of course, but the popularity hasn’t historically been there to the same degree. If Dennis continues to raise the profile of German basketball, the argument gets a lot easier.
