[Highlight] Royce O’Neale hits the potential game-winning 3 against the Lakers, with 0.9 seconds remaining in regulation (with replays)!
The Suns know it only takes two passes to discombobulate this team and get wide open 3s
Lmfaooo as a Lakers fan I hate how funny this is š
Discombobulate is such a fun word
Discombobulayton
Poor dude. š
Caught me red-handed
Plan: attack Luka and force rotation, pass, pass, open 3
Pretty much. Last 3-4 plays were all like that
Most of the game was like that lol
I see they watched the Celtics/Mavs finals then
At least they had guys willing to make the effort to cover, once itās lebrons rotation itās over
That was a great pass by Allen out of the triple team though.
Why did Lebron even double there…
Another hypothetical game winning shot for the suns!
Aināt no hypothetical baby
The lakers canāt handle the suns SOSĀ
Oh we bouts to get all hypotheticals on dem terries clavicles
Royce is so infuriating but when heās hitting heās hitting
I was gonna say lmao
Losing to a Royce O’Neale game winner in 2026 is brutal stuff
Heās been on fire in the 4th quarter this year.
Why didnāt JJ make any defensive subs
JJ doesnāt know how to coach defense that anyone is aware of yet
Makes no sense. Should’ve brought in Vando
Vando is being punished.
Luka you have literally carried the entire offense by yourself you must be exhausted now go guard the ball on this last play dude.
The only person who didnāt think they would target Luka on the last play was JJ.
Very bizarre coaching decision.
I mean I get it, but you really going to sub out your franchise player in the last minute of a tie game?
Okc do it all the time with shai, the problem is more so that Luka is one of the better defenders on the team, which is not a good thing at all for any serious team
Itās definitely not an easy call, and I would not want to do it but Luka was being hunted and everyone knew it was coming in that moment. And he gave up a blow by as soon as the switch happened. But yeah I would not want to tell Luka heās coming out Lol but coaches gotta make those tough calls.
He is a bad coach
Not really, working with what he’s got, and what he’s got is pretty shit
Bro probably sick of getting subbed out in this exact situation during his own career
JJ will explain that in his next podcast episode
Luka getting dusted by grayson allenĀ
Suns just switched the ball handler onto luka all game and got wide open shots nearly every time
Look how slow he is to flip his hips man
He got hunted the entire 2nd half
Grayson good
Luka not good at defense
Why is this a surprise
Luka looks like SpongeBob
The Suns are really racking up the exciting game winning shots this season
Didn’t Gillespie nail a game winner around a quarter into the season? That floater from the ft line? Maybe there was more than 5 seconds left
Yes, that barely just missed the arbitrary cut-off I put on the above one. Here is the full list of what I would technically call a “game winner”:
Suns tied for 2nd overall in the NBA with 5 such game winners:
It was our comeback win vs timberwolves! I forget how much time was still on the clock, but I consider it a GW shot
Yeah the Timberwolves still got a shot off.
Made FT… after missing the 1st one
That’s how you make it more exciting
One of these things is not like the others…
Why is Luka in on the final play? I would understand if they were down and didn’t have a timeout but there is no shotclock and the Lakers had a timeout. He was blown by so many times by Allen and Gilespie in the 4th there should have been no reason he was out there.
JJ wants to save his own PR
in his mind basically “SEE?! not my fault!”
Because the suns had a small lineup so if you get a steal in that situation, Luka can easily get a mismatchĀ
bruh lakers had a timeout, if they got a steal, they calling a timeout.
0 need for luka to be in the game
Suns had a small lineup out there. The suns canāt sub if the lakers got a steal and a Luka game winner would of been obviousĀ
It is a tie game though. Putting Vando in would cost them nothing because there wouldn’t be an offensive possession for him to play. They had a timeout so JJ just prefered to have Luka in over Vando in a end of game defensive possession.
If the lakers use a timeout, the suns can put their good defense players inĀ
Which is fine. No coach in nba history wouldn’t take a timeout to keep their 32ppg scorer on the bench so a team can’t change their defensive players (who Luka had been frying all game). You are basically suggesting keeping a cone on defense out of the floor for the very slim chance you get the ball back with enough time to actually take a shot.
Yeah but i think you gotta prioritze getting the stop first before thinking of that imo
Iām not defending it, Iām jus explaining why it may make sense for Luka to stay inĀ
absolutely disgusting pass
Do you think theyād call traveling since it looks like he landed (at least one foot) before releasing the ball?
travel? the refs cant decide what a blocking foul and a charge is and expect them to know what a travel is? especially since gather steps can run 94feet according to some. /s
gamed by royce o neal is crazy ngl
Royce been solid all year tf
Lebron took out Luka, Rich Paul’s podcast gonna be spicy.
Phoenix whole gameplan last few possessions was to get Luka on a switch and attack him.
IDK why JJ didn’t sit Luka on the bench for this defensive possession, they had a timeout so could bring him back in if you get the stop
Thatās pretty much what every team does against Luka. Celtics beat their asses 4-1 in the Finals just spamming the switch on Luka.
Just go straight at 77 and good things will happen
Collin Gillespie
I need the one from the Lakers announcers
Lakers deserved to lose like this
Luka getting blown by, Jake putting up a weak contest and Lebron overhelping. But thatās on JJ for keeping the weakest defenders on the floor after a timeout.
That was the dagger
Can we appreciate that pass by Allen? If that got picked off or deflected, we wouldāve thought, what the hell kind of play was that supposed to be?
There are 3 comments in this thread about his pass.
No appreciation for the insane leap, awareness of where the corner is, and actually getting the pass off.
Did he get the pass off though? Replays certainly looked like his right foot landed with the ball still in his hands
Idk why luka and reaves were in the game for that defensive possession. Huge problem that our two best players canāt be trusted in such situations
That slow motion replay was an absolute thing of beauty
CALL THE TIMEOUT JJ MAKE DEFENSIVE ADJUSTMENTS MAN HOLY SHIT
First option Allen
LeBron funny af for that
boom š„
Lukas defence is so shit what did I just watch during that game
i hate the lakers but that’s a travel actually lol. great pass either way but ball is on his fingers when he lands
Not saying anything but Luka and Jake had it covered, LeBron overhelped and also took out Luka in the process. Just bad rotations all game
Did Luka have it covered? Because it looked like he was in the process of getting smoked by Grayson fucking Allen.
Put some respect on NBA Ted Cruz’s name.Ā Ā
To be fair, Grayson fucking Allen has been smoking people all seasonĀ
Yea. Jake was right there.
Youāre being really generous with āright there.ā He wasnāt in position to make a play on the ball by the time Allen starts to elevate. Heās out of position and Luka was already beat because he didnāt rotate fast enough on the drive.
Are you even watching the same clip? Allen isn’t Kyrie, he is never making that shit with Luka’s hand in his face and Jake’s right behind him
Yes, but probably closer than you are. Pause the video and look at the position of Allenās body by the time he raises his arms to make the shot attempt. His entire left side is parallel to Lukaās abdomen because he beat him on the drive. Luka fell behind him. The only reason it looks like Allen doesnāt have space on the right side of the basket to put it up with his right hand is because LeBron closed out and he had to adjust the trajectory of his shot/the ball. LaRavia is too far away and his momentum was still moving backward. Luka wouldnāt of had the reach to stop the shot and might have even wound up fouling anyway. That was not an insanely tough shot.

Yeah no none of this is true. Jake’s clearly closer than Lebron until the shot is no longer there. Either you don’t understand camera perspective or you’re being disingenuous.
You can literally see everything I am describing at :04, :45 and :56. LaRavia was literally jumping off his back foot to make a play on Allenās shot because he was still very slightly moving backward off the screen and trying to stay on Coffey. He was closer than LeBron, but not in a position to actually make a meaningful play on the ball or threaten Allenās shot attempt if he went straight up with it on the right side of the basket. See what you want to see.
Your words aren’t worth shit. Here’s the actual screenshot so you can stop selling snake oil.
EDIT: LMFAO BRO BLOCKED ME, CHARMIN SOFT
Lmao. Selling snake oil? Have you been checked for CTE?
Luka got smoked, he blew by him entirely. He never should have been allowed in the paint, let alone having Lula behind Allen. Allen’s shoulder/back were literally blocking Lukas front lol. Awful
Because of that Jake and LeBron had to cave in to help, and somehow Luka managed to fall on the ground like a clown too and get completely wiped out, leaving a man open for the three there
If LeBron doesn’t come from the left, Grayson goes under the rim to that side bc he’s already in front of Luka
Lebron had to help there. This isn’t 2k where you contest a shot they automatically miss it. There was next to no contest from Laravia and i would say he makes the layup at least 50% of the time,
No he didn’t. Allen was 3⁄8 from inside the arc. You take those odds on that. Since LeBron helped, you gave up a wide open 3 to someone who shoots like 45% on wide open 3s
Go to 0:04 on the video and if Lebron wasn’t there it was a wide open layup. Like not even contested. I get that you don’t want to leave a good shooter open but when you actually look at the play in replay you will see that he had to help.
Wrong. Here’s the actual screenshot at 0:04.
Luka and Jake are in good position to contest here. Jake doesn’t have to worry about the corner because the Suns spacing is wrong and Marcus can contest either shooter. Lebron just needs to stay where he is and be ready to close out on a kickout.
The screenshot shows it all dude, have you ever played basketball? If LeBron doesn’t help, Allen just quick pivots left and completely blocks off Luka for an open layup one foot from basket. He could park on front of Luka, Luka runs into him and it’s an and 1.
Everyone in the screenshot is moving, you can’t pause real time and say this split second x should have moved y. The reality is., Grayson Allen got by Luka DonÄiÄ and made the whole team collapse because out of pride, Lakers can’t let a man blow by their star to get a layup last second
Luka never should have let him in the paint
The screenshot shows it all dude Everyone in the screenshot is moving, you can’t pause real time and say this split second x should have moved y.

Such a fucking hypocrite LMAO
Because what I’m saying is what Allen was already doing. Your praising the screenshot to try to make them do things that aren’t in motion.
Allen beat Luka and got in front of him, LeBron helped and made him adjust. I’m just calling out what Allen already did
Edit: this user blocked me lmao
Nah I caught you red fucking handed boy don’t even try š
Bruh there is a difference between me telling you “look at the screenshot, Allen is in front of Luka” vs you saying “look at the screenshot, what would be best to happen is x, y and z”. Red handed my ass!
You take the odds on allowing a poorly contested, point blank gimme layup directly underneath the basket with less than 5 seconds on the game clock because a guy is 3⁄8? On the off chance that someone might hit a shot with a far lower percentage of success? You canāt allow an easy bucket in this scenario. This is a very basic defensive principle.
So in a vacuum, help should come from the weak side as it is a harder and longer pass to that corner compared to the strong side. Now Jake is covering Coffey who is not a good shooter so he should be the help in this case and LeBron stays in the corner.
Am I crazy or does it look like Allen’s foot touch the floor before he got the pass off? Looks super close, not even sure if you could challenge that. Maybe the lakers broadcast talked about it? Again, super close, absolutely brutal loss for lakers
No idea why downvoted. I see it too
