I used to sit next to taj in a class at usc, not that there’s any reason he’d remember me. He was cool and pretty funny, but chronically unprepared. I remember a couple times at the beginning of class (this was arts and letters: America and the new West, a kind of American history class) id be pulling out some hw or some other assignment out to go walk it up front to turn in and he’d look at me and say, “bro, we got hw?” Or “we got a test today?”, and I’d just laugh and say yup, and he’d just look down and let out this quiet, defeated long “shiiiiit” like the dude from the wire.
