Grant Willams talking about Kemba Walker being his vet when he got drafted to Boston Celtics, how he helped him, a lot.
Kemba got screwed by Covid more than just about any other NBA player. His knee started flaring up in like February and the options were play on it and receive the best medical care and it won’t be 100% but he can manage for a few months or get surgery and be out for the year and instead he had to sit on it for months then come off his couch and play on it. Dude lost like half his athleticism and was a shell from just the start of that year
I feel bad for him there. He finally got on a team where he could win and be part of an actual culture and all of that happened and basically slammed the door shut on his prime years.
Yea thankfully Boston won eventually but that whole year is such a what if. Tatum had one of his best runs pre-Covid, Kemba wasn’t the same after, the whole Hayward in or out stuff with his newborn and injuries, the OG shot, probably the best season for Celtics vs Lakers too that we’ll get for awhile
Nah we gon see y’all next year (lemme have my delusion ‘mkay).
It kills me that happened to him right after he got out of this joke of a franchise and into a real one. If Kemba was even playing at 75% of his prime level, y’all win the bubble title
Yea it was a pretty tough watch. I think he had the lowest FG% in the bubble but somehow was top 5 in clutch shooting so every game he’d just limp around and go 2⁄12 in the first 40 minutes then he’d randomly go 3⁄4 down the stretch. Then those next few years he fell off super hard
Kemba Walker is a real one for this
Does Kemba Walker have any haters? never seen a bad word said about him
He’s one of the top dudes on my list of guys I wished had a longer healthier career. He was such a great player that was fun to watch and a great dude. I would have loved to see him still healthy by the time the Jays reached their prime.
Zero

Extremely on brand for Kemba. Can’t overstate how much I love having him on our staff. He would have thrived in the culture change that’s happened with the Hornets compared to the absolute BS he had to deal with years ago
Kemba is goated
NYC legend love you Kemba
I hope kemba doesn’t go down as a forgotten star
He’s the goat of an NBA franchise presently. Might not be a high bar, but still counts
He is , but the new generation haven’t watched him , him and john wall will be viewed differently from the new gen
Yea, that is a shame. Nephews gonna have to go out of their way to know those guys in a few years.
Exactly , d rose would have been in these convos if he hadn’t got an mvp
I think he’ll eventually have his jersey in the Hornets rafters, nobody’s worn 15 since he left, and several of our draft picks wore 15 in college and would have wanted it.
He is now an assistant coach here and has the respect of everyone in the building.
Yeah the hornets really respect him ngl , they treat him really well , I just hope he gets more recognition
The Hornets will definitely retire his jersey so theres that.
Kemba seems like a good dude
I read that as Kemba Walker was his veterinarian and I was confused when he started doctoring animals
