Grant Williams says LeBron James had his own house in the NBA bubble: “He had a house on the campus. They had their own set up. Their team was taken care of”
this is not syria mate
Seriously lol. Super tone deaf
“it was the hardest championship”
It was pretty understandable to anybody who wasn’t being disingenuous
LeBron James had a wife and three young children and had to be away from them for an extended time. More time than any point in his life. Any father/husband with a healthy relationship with their family knows that this would suck. I can certainly sympathize with him.
Steven Adams, unsurprisingly, had a very different perspective as a single guy without kids in his mid 20s. It was basically just like college for him.
Never really understood why so many people failed to see the obvious difference between the two.
I think the whole global pandemic going on and what normal people were having to go through as a result of that made that “obvious difference” seem like pretty small potatoes in the grand scheme of things.
Where is the line drawn on this?
Should American citizens never complain about anything because they live in the world’s best economy and many people around the world live in worse conditions?
Was it tone deaf for normal people to complain about quarantining given that yknow, millions of people were dying?
Both of these are/were common complaints and the same logic you could apply is, strangely, not applied.
Further, it’s sort of odd to think that everybody has an obligation to only talk about things that are “big potatoes”.
“Man it fucking sucks how hot it is every summer now.”
“shut up dude, your discomfort is nothing compared to the flooding the people of Bangladesh have to deal with!”
Can you imagine applying this standard to everything in your life?
The line is drawn at common sense and an inability to recognize that the entire world was simultaneously dealing with trauma that the situation you were complaining about kept you insulated from.
You’re forgetting a key fact. Rich people arent humans. Rich athletes especially arent humans.
This sub is constantly reminding me of Kumail Nanjianis last standup.
He was addressing how everyone was making fun of him for feeling bad Eternals flopped and eventually going to therapy.
“Do you want us to feel sorry for you? No I dont want you to feel sorry for me but I get to feel sorry for me. This is my life. Im inside of here”
can you imagine applying this standard to everything in your life
That’s the thing, you don’t have to
So why pick this case specifically if you can’t be consistent to yourself?
Because people are dumb
PENThouse was mentioned. He didn’t literally have a house
I’m trying to remember back, but didn’t they say Dame had similar?
Yeah it wasn’t really a secret.
Yeah, the situation was every top dog on the teams had their penthouse type deal afair
Not true. Nuggets guys were putting out content at the time and I remember seeing a video of Jokic emerging from a room that I wouldn’t even book to go get in his golf cart.
Let me rephrase and say every top dog that probably demanded it*
This was all documented before. Im pretty sure the better properties were given out based on seeding to teams, then it was up to them to decide who got what rooms.
I’m still waiting for that Bubble documentary
It’s gonna be embarassing for some players.
“It isn’t Syria mate” cemented Steven Adams as one of my favorite NBA players.
Same.
Like the whole thing about liking tweets defending Andrew Tate’s sex trafficking and following a whole fleet of far right figures on twitter (DJT, RFK, Riley Gaines, Tucker Carlson, Eva Vlaardingerbroek) already had me excited.
But OWNING that dumb liberal LeBron James guaranteed it. My GOAT.
Can’t even remember the dudes name anymore but that one rockets player would def be an interesting plot point lol
Danuel House
LOL @ them talking about the food being mid cause I remember watching a video about how the NBA flew in a bunch of African American chefs to make “homemade” meals for them
Yeah I remember seeing a short video about the lady chef that worked at a high end restaurant that did shift there for a week or a few days. It was insane what she made there for them and then they call it mid lol
Did someone give the whole phoenix suns squad sloppy toppy lol
Ya I forgot her name but she blew the whole team
Ajayyyy or something? She did a podcast basically saying booker and top dawgs got special treatment lol
Come rub it
in the bubble? i saw that clip but i thought that was just a random ho story, i didn’t know they had designated women in the bubble for this lmao
She was hired as a “nurse” lol
Taking samples
Who is surprised by this tho? lol
That nba money making way for LeBron the billionaire
I cant believe how they looked after Lebron James any better than Grant Williams! My man would have much more productivity than his 3.4 points and2.6 rebounds.
They needed Bron’s support so maybe they enticed him!
I like how there’s all this trauma misery contest as if LeBron living in a penthouse adversely affected anyone else and we should suffer just because.
Well here’s a personal story. My spouse was in healthcare and I was on a ship and we worked then went back to our separate lives for 9+ months and in the end none of the great efforts put in social distancing matters because everyone else just partied and did whatever the fuck they want so trust me on this - nba players in the bubble trying to provide some normalcy and entertainment didn’t hurt you, me or anyone’s relative misery.
Toughest ring of his life btw
Hes a billionaire im not surprised lol
Pretty sure this was debunked. Bron’s room was right next to AD’s in the same hotels everyone else was staying at.
He was in a presidential suite. They all showed off their rooms and Lebron’s most certainly did not look like JR Smith’s lol.
damn a whole house? was his family in there as well
