Wemby is constantly baiting people into shots because he knows they will avoid him otherwise.
Yup. People started to avoid putting shots up in the paint, so he started ducking and even hiding behind teammates to trick people into thinking they had a shot. His blocks are down pretty significantly this year and it’s because people have caught on and fall for it less, and just avoid the paint if he’s anywhere close to it.
And “down significantly” still has him head and shoulders above the average block rates of other players too lol

I recall people saying he breaks the geometry of the game, “safe” passes and shots are within his range and catch radius are much larger having the defender have to guard a longer range of space

People have talked about generational players forcing rule changes. This might be the rule that Wemby prompts a change for.
It’s also the one with the least impact on the game overall without blatantly nerfing him specifically.

the rule is that the defensive player can be in the paint as long as they’re within arms reach of an opposing player. cmb was there with him so it’s not defensive 3 seconds. in fact, you can see in this clip that wemby’s reaching his arms out to touch cmb to show the refs that he is within arms reach
