I know his offense is still a work on progress, but I think his sleeping pattern is also a huge factor for his offense. With lack of rest, his energy plummets. He admitted after the raps game that he didn’t sleep well the night before, that he has to follow his routine better next time.
I noticed that Wemby has this pattern, usually on road games against teams that weren’t too motivating, where he didn’t sleep well the night prior and he put up a stinker. Maybe he enjoyed scrolling on IG late at night. After all, wemby’s still a 22 year old kid. He was the same against the Hornets. You could see during games that he’s having focus and energy issues, not because of opponents.
Given his size and the motor he needs at that size, it’s understandable he needs proper rest to perform. Now, his game against detroit was not a stinker imo. Knowing Vic, he probably slept early before that game. We know he cares for marquee matchups. Detroit’s defense was simply too good and it caused him issues, and guess what? he still had a dominant game. Why? because his superb energy were there, something that was missing last night against toronto.
Can’t wait for the pregame interviews in the playoffs:

Who knows? maybe he facetimed some of his friends. Maybe he played online chess. Maybe it’s a late night chitchat with a girlfriend. Maybe he binge-watched star wars. Maybe he enjoyed reading a book a bit too much. Or maybe the team had travel issues, which made him sleep uncomfortable somewhere.
Us fans, sometimes forget that players are still human beings. They have a life outside of NBA. There were nights where basktball is the air they breathe, but some nights it’s a 9-5 job.

I believe something like 62% of games this season have been won by the home team.
Thats probably skewed by the fact that the teams who rest players tend to do it on the road, but it’s not insignificant.
It’s nowhere near as important as health. You’re also cherry-picking stats; I don’t know what it is off my head, but I’d bet you $100 it’s lower than that in the playoffs since, say, 2020. Finally, it’s nowhere near as important for defending champions, and certainly isn’t anywhere near as important than health is for defending champions.
TL;DR a healthy OKC are prohibitive favorites over SAS and the rest of the NBA, homecourt or no homecourt.

With Wemby’s still developing and inconsistent offense and team’s postseason inexperience I don’t expect them to reach the finals this year but they might make the conference finals for valuable deep playoff run experience. This team is deep and talented.

Barnes’ is an expiring contract and is 34. Devin is signed through 2028-29 and caps out at around $28M. The big challenge will be around Fox’s contracts and how well we develop our first rounders
My hope this year is playoff experience. Next year we have a lot of 1st apron space to get another shooter and a real power forward to help with different match ups. Being a 2 seed this year should make it easier to get good guys in our budget
