I don’t think OKC is as worried about these injuries as most other people are. None of them have been season ending or requiring surgery, yet they’re still the #1 team in the West, and just had their 3rd stringers take the #1 team in the East down to the wire.

They’re resting these guys to avoid those season-ending injuries, because they’ve gotten to give time to the entire bench to carry the playoffs with.

Honestly, if you look at their season, they took full advantage of the easy early schedule, and once injuries started to creep up, they decided to not push it to secure a narrative win. Instead they used the buffer of wins they got to allow their guys to get recovery time and experience for the bench.

All I’m going to say is; I don’t think these playoffs are going to look anything like last year, and I think OKC is going to win in a much more convincing fashion. I think they want a longer off-season this upcoming summer, best way for them to secure that and still get a ring is to make these series quick.

Notice that every team is smelling blood in the water when it comes to OKC’s record? Means they’ll be the ones pushing to crest the mountain, only to realize that they did so whilst OKC was getting days of rest for their best guys, suring up weaknesses in their gameplan, getting valuable minutes for players that otherwise would’ve been far greener going into the playoffs. Like, did anyone really think Topic was going to be getting this many minutes this far away from the playoffs?

It just doesn’t seem like OKC has had really bad luck, more strategically making use of their schedule to combat their injury luck.
