Not defending Kerr or Dray, but Kerr has literally been one of the winningest humans to ever be on the hardwood. he could’ve done more with Kuminga but we don’t know what’s going on behind the scenes. I doubt Kerr is benching a dude to stroke his ego if that guy helps his team. It doesn’t matter how good someone is if they’ve mentally checked out.

The Warriors’ rotation decisions this season have been genuinely baffling at times.

Its such awful talent management. After Jimmy went down it should have been the Kumbucket show until the end of the year. Because lets not kid ourselves, Warriors weren’t making the playoffs no matter what.

Then at the end of the season, after the guy is averaging stats better than a string of DNPs, you trade him for something better than fucking Porzingus.

They played the wizards with basically 0 nba starters.

It’s wild how much he was sitting on the bench before the trade. Some coaching decisions just don’t make sense.

He did this on the warriors. He doesn’t fit next to butler and green. Green recently became washed and jimmy tore his knee recently so the timing is weird

He had plenty of games like this on the Warriors. He’s a talented player and he can put up numbers. He’s just didn’t play well with Butler/Draymond and didn’t set up Curry very well. Kerr obviously didn’t like him much either because he wanted Wagner in the draft. It is what it is, I’m rooting for him regardless.

I don’t think it was snakebite.  Kuminga is not a high BBIQ player; he’s a high talent player. The warriors system needs high-BBIQ or high energy, and Kuminga brought neither.

To unlock Kuminga, Kerr would’ve had to scrap the 5 out motion for a dribble drive scheme. JK needs a search a destroy scheme built on verticality. Basically, give the ball to Kuminga and let him attack the rim. He doesn’t thrive in a read and react offense full of backdoor cuts and triangle splits.

The problem is that in a DDM scheme, Steph would be gassed and wilt by April. So it’s either fully embrace the Kuminga strengths at the cost of Steph’s longevity through the season (which is already a problem to begin with), or trade Kuminga to a different team.

And I don’t care what anyone says, but if I’m Kerr I’m not tossing out the system that got the Warriors 4 rings and cemented Steph as the greatest shooter and a Top 2 PG of all time for a predictable offensive scheme that benefits Kuminga over Steph. It’s criticism, but it’s criticism Kerr will happily live with as most of it is reactionary and not at all based in basketball IQ.

As a warriors fan, you’re absolutely right. A lot of us are still pissed about how he was treated and handled. It’s disgusting the way Kerr treated someone young and talented like JK as opposed to how he treats someone like Draymond who consistently hurts not just our team but other teams as well.
