Yeah, that trade looked rough at first but Wallace has been such a solid piece for OKC’s bench. Lively is great when he’s out there, but availability matters.

As much as I liked cason, I don’t think I ever saw this sort of stuff coming. If this leap is in any way real and not just an insane heater, his ceiling is ridiculous and it’s going to be very hard for the thunder to retain him
More like he’s making it very easy to move on from Dort and Wiggins down the line. There’s no chance Presti will give up Cason now.
And I’d bet the ownership group is fully prepared to dip into the second apron for at least a season or two. People don’t seem to realize the penalties other than the money will hardly affect us. If they were open to paying the Westbrook, PG, and Melo team the most money in the league at the time I’m sure they’ll be fine stretching this team as long as feasibly possible.
I definitely agree that the ownership will likely pay into the second apron. But NBA guys like Matt Moore (HardwoodParoxysm on Twitter) are already talking about how the nets should offer him a max, and I don’t think there’s any chance okc will be able to max him on top of Shai dub and chet. I imagine the thunder will move on from dort this summer and offer cason somewhere in the 20m-25m range. Will be interesting to see if he takes something like that or if he’ll wait it out for RFA
This is definitely possible but he hasn’t shown a level of consistency to warrant anyone giving him a max contract. He still has games with quite poor shooting. And his decision making is still a bit raw. I could see it happen but I could also see him not getting it. Hopefully it’s the latter as a Thunder fan lol
