Meniscus, damage to other ligaments. An ACL tear can be checked by like any doctor, or Physio. It’s the internal damage that requires X-rays (for bones) and MRIs.

I’ve had a bone bruise once in my life, took a full force kick right below my shin guards trying to stop a defender from clearing the ball. I was genuinely in agony for weeks after. It’s not like a ligament or muscle injury where you can position it to get some rest from the pain. You can only make it worse and less bad

Other torn ligaments or meniscus tear. Torn ACLs commonly have some degree of those to go along with it.

Was it an unnecessary shove? 100% yes. Absolutely no reason to do that at all.

But Vince Williams getting a torn ACL from that shove is a complete freak accident. 99 times out of 100 that play ends in zero injury and both guys go onto the next play. And maybe like 1 in 1000 ends in a season ending surgery like this. Tari doesn’t have a history of being dirty and there’s no way he could’ve anticipated that shove ending in a torn ACL. This was just a freak accident

Tough injury, especially in those circumstances (not jumping or shooting or actively in the play at that moment).

Hopefully the Jazz can do him a solid in his recovery and pick up his Team Option for next season, otherwise that could be career over for him, or at least on pause for a good while.

He’s shown some real playmaking chops this year, but he’s an awful, inconsistent shooter, and will already be 26 years old by the start of next season, so it’ll be a hard road back.
