Two fans holding the flag of Serbia were escorted out during Nikola Jokic’s free throws last night (the flag was too big)
Seems like an overreaction, just tell them to put it away.
Can anyone confirm they were kicked out for good? Or if this was even their first warning??
Sometimes in this situation they bring them out to the concourse to explain why they can’t be waving a giant flag, then return to their seats. I’ve personally seen it happen to some folks sitting next to me, where the ushers called them up, and they returned a few minutes later; albeit in a different stadium.
If they were kicked out for good I’d guess it’s because they were already warned.
Good point, I’m not too sure but I hope so honestly
I’m just speculating, but It’s the end of the second period here. Kinda unlikely that this is the flag’s first appearance.
Security reacting so quickly to them makes me think that they had spoken to the guests before and were keeping an eye on them.
Agreed. Also, the fans quickly try to put their flag away when they see security. If that was a first warning, I would expect they would still have the flag out because they didn’t know.
I can’t see the size of it, but they may be blocking the view for 15-20 people there.
Shocking to think this was the first time they broke it out
Especially considering they looked remorseful when they realized it was upsetting others and willing to put it away.
Short clip though idk what led up to it.
Chase really sucks for fans. They’re so strict on everything.
Maybe things have changed in the league as a whole but it was trash to see at Chase that they don’t let kids try to get autographs near the tunnel unless their seat was next to it.
I don’t think that’s a Chase Center thing. Years ago in Sacramento they were strict about that too.
Deserved. Anyone stupid enough to proudly ruin the experience for others minding their own business should be removed immediately. Honestly Jerami, you should be kind of ashamed for being fine with strait up ruining people’s good time they paid for.
LMAO at that last sentence
I understand and I think both are right. There are people who may have traveled very far (different countries ) and are unfamiliar with these rules.
They may also have different cultural background in how they can support their players from their country thinking it’s okay to do these things but yes this isn’t allowed in the NBA and it does ruin others viewers experience as well.
Being unfamiliar with basic manners sucks for others.
you ever go to the airport and can immediately spot those that are new to traveling
Good point though!
strait
tonite
You are so kind and understanding
Nah, I’m a complete baboon bro XD. I just put myself in the people behind that war crime flags shoes. Having experienced annoying people at Blazers games after paying good money for tickets, it’s excruciating
How does it feel to be a brailtlazer fan these days
I love Donovan Clingan tho, and having Dame back is like a dad coming back from Iraq or som lmao
Kill me. That’s how
Gotta quit sweating the small stuff my guy.
Not great to let mildly annoying people control your emotions without even trying.
You literally have no idea what happened settle down moron. Vietnamese people screaming at each other for 3 hours and letting their three 1-2 year old children run around and literally touch people without stopping them is not pleasant. I mean genuinely, how stupid do you have to be to just fill in blanks with someone else’s story to act like you’re such a good person. Stfu
Sybau
Johnny had her feelings hurt :(
You’re bitching about kids being kids. Americans are such fucking wimps
another idiot pulling stuff out of their ass to act like they’re so much better XD. I would go into further detail about how they poured drinks on people’s heads and took people’s hats without their parents doing anything about it… but something tells me your pathetic ass is gonna keep crying
I didn’t think people these days were fine with being rude/disruptive in public. I guess with your average person today it only matters if it’s bothering them XD. That show “Are You Smarter Than a Fifth Grader” needs to make a comeback lmao
Golden State ownership confirmed Kosovars
Well these midgets don’t play ball, so they have to be towel carriers at least…
What in the actual fuck are you talking about?
From that dudes profile, he looks like a native Serb who used Google Translate, which fucked up somehow
And the NBA thinks they can foster a European-like atmosphere in the games 😭
a European-like atmosphere would have a lot of racial slurs towards the POC players when sporting events are the only time they see a POC
Yeah, a lot of European “passion” is just people being ass holes.
It cracks me up when ppl talk up the “european sport culture” as if America needs more hooligans to trash cities win or lose, throw bananas and make ape sounds at players, abuse some random family with kids who has the jersey of a visiting team.
Then then call it “soft” if you think society should have a little more self discipline than the avg drunk every night angry at the world and taking it out on random ppl while pretending it is “hard” to exploit strength in numbers surrounded by fellow hooligan assholes.
Not just assholes. Racist and xenophobic to the core. And the fact that it is kind of “normalized” in many countries is really troublesome.
Of course it is not all the fans, but at least in Euroleague basketball it is really disturbing to see the hatred in some of them. Even children.
And an American like atmosphere has poc players using racial slurs against fans. It’s happened several times this season.
yeah totally the same thing good point bro
white boy is not a racial slur
Yea because you are americans, doesnt happen in Euroleague tho
I’m not American
No I mean as in American culture of insulting people is on racial level in Europe especially in Greece, Serbia, Lithuania or Turkey its more about insulting on personal level.
yes let’s have a Euro atmosphere where you have 50% of the arena being the fans from the opposite team, fans are segregated by fences to stop them attacking eachother, male fans are all shirtless and completely fd up drunk, fans are shooting flares in the arena, throwing toilet paper rolls jumping up and down the whole game, shouting the whole game, making monkey sounds when a black player is at the free throw line and sometimes running onto the court
NBA needs to get music out of the arena before they can even begin to sniff Euro-culture
I wouldn’t want that in front of me
I’d have to see her walk up the stairs to really judge… wait what
I’ve literally never seen anyone with even a tiny flag at an NBA game, this is too much lol
[deleted]
Either 3 things.
A) they did already warn them.
B) they took them up there to explain in a more quiet setting why they can’t hold a giant flag in front of other spectators, and then returned to their seats.
C) Warriors owner has not forgotten or forgiven Serbian war crimes.
imagine if they did that with every country that has war crimes in their recent history
NBA without American players would be weird ngl
No Basketball Association
It’s a prohibited item if it is too big or if it says something untoward. They either confiscate the item or you can leave with it
Who said they didn’t
You can tell they were blocking the view of others.
Entitled pricks.
Hold up, Ms Serbia is thickk
Oh so crowds being shit is literally in the rules, I understand now why we don’t see any tifos… Instead we have the speaker yelling DE FENSE 🤣🤣
Bro if i paid for those seats behind that dumbass flag im throwing hands if security wont
The NBA is very strict about flags at games. I think they only allow USA and Canada flags. I’ve seen people get escorted out before.
Chase Center tickets aren’t cheap either, thinking its okay to block peoples view even if its for a few seconds at a time is main character behavior. Wear a Tshirt with the flag instead and dance around til you get on the jumbo-tron like everyone else
America is good at killing passion in sports
Is that Sam Rockwell at 13 seconds?
Bad publicity > No publicity
KD upvoting this post with all his burners
shorty thick as hell. whats her @?
Tiny flags only
Man what’s with these Serbs and disrupting fans in the stands
We need Tifos at basketball games
“Being unfamiliar with basic manners sucks for others” people are downvoting this comment, just to give you an idea of how f’ing stupid Reddit users are now
I mean fair…if they were warned
I’m sure there’s stuff on the arena website about what’s allowed, what’s not, what will get you kicked asap. Did they read that, maybe.
Security is soft
I know a couple Serbs, bigger flag next game.
Its not because of the flags, rather its annoying to watch when you paid hundreds of bucks just to see a flag right in front of you.
Don’t argue or the flag gets bigger.
INAT
No warning ffs
They probably already did
How would you know they were not warned previously?
How would you know they were not?
Weird response to someone calling out another for making assumptions lol. Why are you assuming this was their first and only warning??? Do folks like you just jump to the most inflammatory possibility?
fun fact: life went on before this video and has gone on after this video
What if it were a US flag ? …Why the downvotes? Perfectly logical question
If it was blocking the view of the 15 people behind them then i imagine they would also be kicked out. Stip trying to make this something its not
not trying to make it anything, just wondering how it would look. Faux news would go buckwild
You’re real close, but just need to reach 6000 cm further
Still kicked out. Only way to truly test the theory is to fly the Israeli flag.
