[Highlight] Payton Pritchard beats the buzzer with a three pointer to end the half!
It’s actually absurd how well he’s mastered this shot
Playing against Luka gives him the hall of fame white on white violence 25% fg% boost as well
Reminds me a little bit of Caitlin Clark! Beast mode !
Payton’s oberyn to Lukas mountain
to be fair Luka did well to stay on that shot
fate of the universe, martians have a death beam pointed at earth…
I WANT FASTPP
But like…unironically.
two buzzerbeater 3s in one half is pretty nuts
Not the first time he’s done it this year, either.
Luka sees demons when its 3 secs left on the clock and pritchard has the ball. First the finals and now this lol.
Yup he missed that ft and tried to contest Pritchard lmao
He even played pretty decent defense on the shot too. Watching the ball go in must have felt awful 🤣
“This is what I do” PP proves himself every game so happy he’s in green☘️☘️☘️
Yall don’t deserve PP, wasted the start of his career sitting him on the bench
What a ridiculously terrible take. Wowzer
What’s ridiculous about it, he coulda been a starter on another team but he was a bench warmer cuz the Celtics are stacked
So you just don’t get how the nba works. JB came off the bench to start and Tatum would’ve if there wasn’t a freak accident breaking haywards ankle. Derrick white came off the bench, queta, hauser. Every starter today early their career came off the bench.
The Tatum part isnt right lol.
Literally our starting lineup for game 1 was Kyrie, JB, Gordo, Tatum, and Horford.
If the NBA works that way that doesn’t make it right. Pritchard was clearly better than some of the guys we had starting, and we played better with him way before this season or last season or the title season.
But you’re wrong. He’s never clearly been a starter but he has deserved minutes. This is the first year he is actually starter worthy.
20 - kemba, smart
21 - Dwhite, smart, Schroder, Richardson
22 - smart, brogdon, Dwhite
23 - jrue, Dwhite
24 - jrue, Dwhite
I understand why, it’s because the Celtics are stacked though I still think he was underutilized early in his career, regardless of him being young. Celtics are greedy and lucky Pritchard is so selfless. Swallowing his pride riding the bench being one of the best shooters of his draft class
Super casual take there man. Celtics drafted pritchard and developed him into what he is now. The celtics didnt start him not because they were “stacked” but because he wasnt ready
Not a casual take. He was one of the best college players at the time and came into the nba severely underrated and underutilized mostly because of his height and chill demeanor. He’s always had the talent, Boston just took forever to let him prove it when he could have from the beginning
“Best college players at the time”
Drafted 26th
“When he could have from the beginning”
Notable starting Gs for the Celtics: Smart, Walker, Brown, White, Holiday
The draft doesn’t directly reflect your skill or effort, look at Deandre Anton’s bum ass. And you’re cherry picking, I said it was obvious how it’d go on Boston, I just think he would have been incredible from the beginning especially on another team
I see you are unfamiliar with the game of basketball or at the very least the Celtics.
He contributed to banner 18 while coming off the bench, something I’m sure he is proud of! Forever our champ ☘️
As a laker fan it’s just deeply painful to see such a talented player come off the bench, I’d trade the entire lakers bench just for a shooter like that
He started the first 48 games of the season and here are his minutes logged since going back to his 6th man role: 34,33, 35, 30, 33, 32.
I hear what you’re saying but his production hasn’t diminished he’s actually better suited in this role. Hes like a Ginobili in that way. It’s not a slight he’s specialist in his own right. Hopefully Boston will compensate him as he deserves next contract
You’re totally right, it’s really just me being a salty laker fan lol. I already hate the Celtics and their depth just humiliates other teams
The only year he sat behind was 22-23 when we had smart, brogdon, and white. He played a good amount his first 2 years. This is a bad take
My point is he would’ve developed more and had a bigger impact on the league on a different team, though I doubt he’s upset about it considering it resulted in a ring
For being the 26th pick he played a good amount its not like he was a top 5 pick
I mean yeah it’s obvious how it was gonna go on the Celtics but on other teams they would have discovered that he was an underrated pick way earlier
There’s definitely truth to this. He wanted out of Boston, publicly too. He communicated not getting enough of a role his first few years but that turned around thankfully. Elsewhere he would’ve gotten that opportunity sooner for sure. Doesn’t mean he would’ve developed into the same player we know today though
Thank you, you said it a lot more eloquently than me
I mean I agree with you, for more than 1 year he sat on the bench and every time he played he looked absolutely amazing, yet people kept saying dumb shit like “he’ll never cut it” just because the coaches weren’t giving him more time.
Many coaches don’t dare to bench a max player and play a guy on a rookie contract just because he plays with… checks notes
…more energy, more grit, more pace, takes smarter shots, makes his teammates better, distributes the ball, and actually plays defense.
It’s stupid. But the Celtics knew what they had in Pritchard and needed to cash in on other bigger names first before going “our 4th PG is actually our best PG”
Honestly, his highly specialized role is probably the most likely path for a woman to actually make an NBA roster; i.e. Caitlin Clark or Sabrina Ionescu. Subbed in solely as a shooter for end-of-quarter situations, making their defensive liability largely irrelevant.
He is not even that much of a liability on d
In what way is Prichard playing a highly specialized role?
So, you just never watch the Celtics play nor do you even look at box scores? He’s one of the most efficient iso scorers in the league this year and is one of the most efficient at the rim. Specialized role? The fuckin disrespect to my boy.
You’re talking about the guy who played for 37 minutes tonight?
His special role is to play 35 plus minutes a game haha
Highly specialise, niche role, the role you give the coaches son, it’s the IYKYK kinda gig that only bball OG deep thinkers get. Pritchard’s specialisation is beyond the casual fan’s comprehension.
This might be the dumbest comment ever posted on this sub and that’s saying something
He’s not a defensive liability lol.
You should actually watch him. He’s very active with his hands and causes lots of fits against big men that get switched on him.
Guy bitches and cries about fouls and gives up points in transition and then gets lost on defense to close the half 😂
I really thought he’d grow out of this
why? what possible indication could there have been that would make you think that?
he’s been in the league 8 seasons now - this is who he is
Don’t forget taking plays off on offense because he’s gassed and Hugo is glued to him
his defense is awful and it’s still better than in the finals lmao
Windy was right 🥀
Your account is a goldmine lmao, bro cares more about the Lakers more than his favourite team.
Put Luka on skates
Genuinely looked like he slipped on ice, unreal
I thought Pritchard only knew how to push off 🤯🤯🤯
I thought the Olympics was over lmaoo 😭
THATS WHAT I DO
Lmaooooooo as an alum of the University of Oregon, he might as well trademark that phrase lol
If I had to choose a player to take a shot to save a game, I’d choose Michael Jordan. If I had to choose a player to save the world, I’d take Payton Pritchard.
A fat man on skates.
Didn’t realize the circus was in town.
Luka got sent to a whole other state and the Celtics are still cooking him.
Luka’s my favorite, esp when we’re playing him.
Luka lookin like Alysa Liu out there
And then he drills a 3 and still sits on the ground bitching about how it should’ve been an and-1 while letting Boston get back on offense lol
The best player in history at one thing.
*Many things
Payton Pritchard is who Austin Reaves thinks he is
Call the faowll ! Travel or shot clock or push off or something! Prichard too mean it has to be illegal
Mama there goes that man
SMH, invisible arm push off on Luka to put him on skates. This isnt fair
Luka’s getting game 5 flashbacks
The Caitlyn Clark of the NBA!
Luka such free eats lmao
Show Luka not getting back on D because he cried like a baby
Had to be him!
Buzzerbeating King indeed
Might be the goat 🐐 at it. Any stat nerds have some data for us?! He does this way too often to not be up there in buzzer beater stats.
Luka Oncic
And thats game.
Ended Luka and Vanderbilt oh my
Might be the king of buzzerbeaters.
Caitlin should be honored to be compared to such a dawg
PPs shooting sliders go up to 99 when at the buzzer
This is his houseeee
A buzzer beater to end a quarter is now called the Pritchard.
hes way too good for his contract
Luka’s defense is embarrassing to watch.
I’m a fan
Is that Luka tryna play defense??? Lol
Maybe Reggie was right.
Pritchard was one of my all time favorite college players and as a laker fan it broke my heart when he got drafted to B*ston
PAYTLIN CLITCHARD
How many times has he hit the buzzer beater shots?
Nice travel violation. #Gatherstepmyass
