You know, it’s really depressing that an expected part of sports fandom is to shit on players you don’t like. On Reddit, I see it with almost every team; very few people are fans of the whole team, instead you get these factions. Pro-Podz/Anti-Podz, pro-Kuminga/anti-Kukinga, pro-coach/anti-coach, etc. It becomes more about wanting to be right than enjoying the game and rooting for wins.

I know sports betting is understood to drive negativity, hate, and harassment, but the degree to which some people on here (assuming they aren’t bots) hate people they’ve never met is worrying and sad. People find others who also want to be negative, then they feed off each other to increase the negativity. Then those narratives buoy the whole conversation to the point where Podz is commonly seen as a net negative when he’s a generally, but not overwhelmingly, positive player. As a Warriors fan, I want him, and anyone else who plays hard for the team, to do well. I want Jordan Poole and Kuminga to do well. But it’s like it’s expected to take sides.

I don’t think any player is above criticism or reproach, but the lengths some people go to hate is kinda unhealthy.

Yeah, there are some people that pretend as if he’s just a tactically clueless guy who just happened to get the opportunity to coach the greatest team out there. In reality, prior to his arrival, GSW had been playing some outdated schemes with Mark Jackson and Steve introduced the motion offense and had the balls to put Green in the starting lineup

Even now, like you pointed out, when the game is tight I trust him to make some adjustments to make other teams uncomfortable and squeeze out some unlikely wins. While he can certainly be criticized for some things like sometimes having poor rotations, I feel like he’s still one of the top 5 coaches in the world who is mostly held back by his roster’s weaknesses

Thinking basketball made a video talking about how they are Clutch City about a year ago. We used to be the #1 clutch offense with a top #5 clutch defense. It’s not just a Lakers thing.

It’s more just about Jokic’s mentality. He likes to mess around and try for crazy assists when we’re winning and doesn’t usually lock in as a scorer or defender unless we’re down. He won’t shoot a lot when we’re winning. The team has always kind of embodied that mentality of being less aggressive when ahead. We’re just a lot better of a team when we’re down 3-5 all game.

Because we’ve historically been a team that plays starters heavy minutes, we’ve always had a lot of games where the effort just shows big lapses, especially on defense.

Yeah, I’ve kinda noticed it in our national team cuz, while he certainly is by far the best player we’ve ever had, he can be “lazy” (if that’s the right term) at times. No more is that evident than in the lack of effort exerted to contest shots and when other players start to follow the example of our leader all of a sudden it becomes increasingly hard to win a relatively easy game.

It’s really no wonder that Serbia has been one of the worst teams at defending the three cuz the mentality sometimes isn’t there. Of course, when the games truly matter, we up the level of intensity and it’s a beauty to watch. I’d imagine Nuggets fans feel the same, but again, these are just my impressions

We got away with it when we had Watson there to deputise. But he’s injured too.

Watson going down has hurt us just as much as Gordon tbh, we’d found something and he was the face of that high effort and energy team that stepped up when Jokic went out.

We’ve not had that spark since both injuries coincided. They’re both our glue guys and are now just a wildly inconsistent team with a great offence.
