[Highlight] The Cavaliers with their 9th turnover, and a beautiful ball movement by the Thunder leads to a corner 3 by Jared McCain
God I knew Philly trading him was stupid for them.
Some teams act like it’s bad to have massive talent on the bench. Meanwhile that’s how OKC won a championship last year. This trade is going to haunt your team unfortunately.
“He wasn’t going to get enough minutes to justify keeping him as a rotational player with the emergence of VJ.”
Laughs in Ajay Mitchell, Isaiah Joe, Aaron Wiggins, Alex Caruso, Cason Wallace, Nikola Topic, and Buddy “Buddy fuckin’ Boeheim” Boeheim
People really discounted his offball movement, the trade never made sense even if he is gonna be stuck in the lineup (which wasn’t the case with our current roster and depth) the 2nd round pick is never gonna be as good as him
He’s good in an decent offense with motion. Which is not NN’s forte. He’ll perform way better in OKC than he would’ve in Philly sadly
While true he still performed really well last year before the injury and his movement and ability to create space was evident even then as a rookie. So dumb to move on from him at his lowest
Yeah definitely. This year really felt like Nurse made him stand still more
Morey has run his course here
Yeah, killed the team’s vibes, gave away a real asset to the team at least long term (and as it looks now for the short term as well). Worst were all the people in the sixers sub who came in every time someone expressed frustration with the trade going “he’s not good, he’s been trash this year!” when we hardly gave him any minutes to find his game.
Morey so good
Mikal Bridges level mistake
Man the thunder don’t even care about the Clippers pick anymore, McCain was really the ROTY frontrunner before going down and they got him for scraps im sick to my stomach
Just to duck the cap. FTP(process). FK Josh Harris.
That was our lotto pick, we’re happy now
Your process worked. Congrats.
Ours died when 2 of our lotto picks forgot how to shoot the ball, and was buried when we traded away a promising young guard that Nurse refused to give minutes to after arguably his ROTY season.
just put the cheesesteak in the bag lil bro
Imagine how we Sixers fans feel. This trade has put the team in a death spiral, the local media is attacking Maxey, and Joel developed mysterious “shin soreness”. Now making it out of the play-in feels like a monumental challenge to this team.
not gonna lie, i don’t even blame joel, he has been working so hard to get back into playing shape, publicly appealed to the front office to not duck the tax and trade away but to improve the team, and they didn’t give a fuck and did it anyways.
The team had so much joy in them this year and this trade sucked it out, and guess what.. we stink now (it doesnt help that maxey is in a slump)
Holy moly
You guys are so good lol
Why did Philly trade McCain again? Was it just to avoid some cap penalties?
“I’m quite confident we were selling high”
*selling while high
traded a good player on a rookie deal for a chance to draft a good player on a rookie deal
They could get the next Jared McCain, to be fair…
Josh Harris and Daryl Morey are both dumbfucks is why. God I hate this team.
Embiid was saying a few weeks before trade deadline that he really likes this squad and thinks it can go far. He asked the FO to make some moves to help contend, their response was to trade away McCain
They had the opportunity to duck the tax this year while getting draft picks, and Nurse is bound and determined to play both Maxey and VJ 40 min/night, so McCain was considered expendable. Meanwhile, OKC plays 12-13 guys on a routine basis even when everybody is healthy, so they cashed in what’s currently the #22 pick for another shooter on a rookie deal.
Cleveland could easily come out of the East, and they’re getting absolutely mauled by the Thunder without SGA and Jalen Williams. The Thunder are absolutely stacked.
the thing about the thunder is that if your best player is a guard, you’re going to have a bad time. The thunder have like 6 all-nba level defensive guards. In order to matchup well with the thunder your best player needs to be a Big
Ugh, that Nuggets series😭
Or be the pacers who matched our defensive energy and shot and played quick transition offense so well
Easily come out of the East based on what? They havent even made an Eastern conference finals yet
He’s saying easily in the sense that “this event is very plausible”
Not “they will do this with ease”
And im asking its plausible based on what?
They were the first seed last year on a historic winning page and got destroyed by the Pacers in the playoffs.
Pistons, Knicks, Celtics are all firmly above them. I could also see the Raptors Sixers over them too
The pistons, knicks, celtics, raptors, and sixers all failed to make the finals last year as well. What kind of argument lol
I never said any of those teams are plausible to make the finals either. East is wide open and any team has a chance to get out.
I brought up the making the finals because the cavs havent proven shit to make them a plausible final contender seeing as how they’ve choked the past few years.
How are you not getting this lmao
Please look up what the word plausible means
Everybody can’t be not plausible lmfao
“Plausible” refers to something that is reasonable, believable, or likely to be true
If the Cavs have underperformed in the playoffs then it is not reasonable or believable to think they will be coming out of the East.
For the other teams I said its not likely in the sense that theyre not a favorite either. Any team can come out of the East this year. Pistons, and Raptors are unproven in the playoffs. Knicks, Cavs, Sixers have come up short repeatedly. Celtics are a coin flip based on how Tatum looks when he comes back.
The word you and OP are looking for is possible lmao.
Sixers over Cavs what the hell are you smoking dude 😭
First of all I didn’t put them in the category of competitive series and not just straight up better. Secondly, Embiid would be the best player in that series and Maxey is a playoff riser which is more then you can say for nearly all of the Cavs team
To be a first seed on a historic winning pace means that you’re really good. So either the Cavs choked, the Pacers were also a championship contender or injuries.
Hmmm. Let’s see what happened in the playoffs.
They have the most statistically dominant playoffs series ever in the first round. Good sign
They lose game 1. Garland is injured.
They don’t have Mobley, Garland nor Hunter in game 2. They lose on a Haliburton game winner. Donovan Mitchell strains his calf in that game. An injured Garland comes back and plays in game 3. They win game 3 convincingly.
Game 4 they implode. Game 5 they also lose.
We know for sure that Garland was injured the entire series and from hindsight that the Pacers were an inner circle contender level team.
Does this look like a choke to you?
Youre overrating Garland like crazy. As good as a scorer, facilitator as he is, hes a defensive pylon and was bound to get exposed in the playoffs.
Im not just counting one series against the cavs, im counting every year since they got Mitchell.
Also 2015 Hawks and 2018 Raptors would like a word
They employ famous playoff legend James Harden. Of course they’re coming out of the east!
Oh my mistake. Adding legendary playoff riser Harden to conference finals veteran Donovan Mitchell must mean theyre a lock to come out of the East
Could easily, as in there is a very realistic chance of it happening. Who in the East has done anything besides Boston? And while what they’re doing is very impressive given the circumstances, they still have a much lower chance at making the Finals than they did in years past.
Its not about what the other teams have done, itd about what the Cavs have done.
Mitchell has never made a conference finals in his career, Harden is a notorious playoff choker, Jarrett and Allen are 7 foot for no reason and we’re once out rebounded by Josh Hart in a series.
Until proven otherwise theyre the definition of a regular season overachiever.
5 minutes with abnormal turnovers and thunder shooting more 3s isn’t enough to base it on
Sure, but it’s probably still true lol.
I think its likely just thunder never shoot that well from 3. Reg season games are won or loss just from people getting hot beyond the line these days. I genuinely dont think the east is as far behind the west as people make it seem. Thunder and Pistons are a step above everyone else, then on the next rung down I think its spurs/celtics/knicks. Nugs if they can be healthy. All the west contenders are underperforming, nugs cause of injuries, clippers waived the white flag, lakers/rockets/wolves keep having bad games. If 76ers could get healthy i genuinely think them and raptors as east 5th or 6th seed would still be a 5th or 6th seed in the west. Eastern playoffs is gonna be fun this year cause everyone is so much better than they get credit for and its not as simple as “Tatum comes back and sweeps everyone”.
Not readin all that, Raptors in 5.
Harden fell asleep on d for about 0.5 seconds and that led to a punishing 3. I love modern basketball, there’s so much more depth to it all
And he knew it, if his body language was any indicator.
Another sixers bench player flourishing with a different organization.
I appreciate Julian Champagnie. ;)
I hate my local basketball team right now. Good job Josh, cheapskate bozo. Morey sucks too.
On pace to break the turnover record LFG
I’m pleasuring myself
McCain is so good at off-ball movement
Have I said I hate Daryl Morey
Jared’s a baller, Philly lost a good one
And somehow 30 minutes later OKC only has 1 less turnover than Cleveland
Damn dude, his dad would have made a good president.
Jared McCurry
Cavs are getting cooked
Fade me
Low sold
I’ve always hated Daryl Morey.
But just casually giving the Thunder McCain for free makes me hate him so much more.
Morey is a dumbass. He is so good.
When they first got the ball I was like “That’s what you consider beautiful ball movement?” Then I was like “Oh, I see it now”
9 turnovers in six minutes is abominable. These teams were competing just last year, too.
There’s only legitimately 1 team in the nba thats a threat to okc repeating because they have a Wemby in the paint. No other team is stopping OKC from winning back to back championships.
OKC needed 2OT to beat the Pacers and then lost at home. Slow your roll
Denver took them to 7 last year.
Due to Okc being young and inexperienced while Denver being clutch down the stretch. Neither one of those things are happening at this point in time. In fact David alderman will be the rookie this coming playoffs.
Young, inexperienced, and injured! No one ever gives us the context of injury when discussing how we were beatable in the playoffs last year and glosses over it to say we’ll be beatable again this year
They currently have one rotation player shooting above 40% from 3 so they could get cold and lose kind of like the Celtics vs Knicks. They are an awesome team but not unbeatable
1 Bad day at the office doesn’t make up the difference they’re legitimately going to smoke anybody in the playoffs except the Spurs because they have wemby.
1 bad day is still more evidence than 1 bad quarter. Which is what just happened. Thunder haven’t even faced the Pistons yet
The Okc Thunder are still the leagues number 1 rated defense. That’s not just a bad quarter that’s been their defense all season. The Pistons live and die on Cade they don’t have enough yet.
They had the #1 defense last year too but they still needed 7 games to beat the Nuggets and a Haliburton Achilles tear to beat the Pacers. Saying the Spurs are the only threat to them is short-sighted.
And they told you they weren’t satisfied with how they won. Only went seven games with Denver because of being young and inexperienced like fouling to early for example. Nuggets in the clutch used to be the best in the NBA but have been legitimately bad all season. Pacers aren’t a threat this year only the San Antonio spurs have a shot to knock them off.
being young and inexperienced only the San Antonio spurs have a shot to knock them off
being young and inexperienced
only the San Antonio spurs have a shot to knock them off
Pick one
The Spurs having Wemby are the only team that has a shot to beat okc his defense makes them change their entire style of play.
NBA has weak ass defense
Idk looked good to me
That ain’t weak defense, that’s solid team basketball.
