Start lbj and have him sit longer stretches probably not great for older muscles. Push Reaves to come off the bench and you might wind up starting laravia. Lbj comes off the bench and rui provides some defense and hopefully shooting.
Realistically there’s pride in being a starter so one of lbj or Reaves gets the quick hook and rotation

I think Brunson is the slightly better ball handler and better with ball security against elite perimeter defense, so I’d prob take Brunson by a narrow margin for postseason play. But I think Reaves is just as good as him in the regular season where defenses are less physical and swarming
Problem is Reaves is a ghost against playoff caliber teams like OKC/Spurs/Rockets as a 2nd/3rd option, while Brunson can cook as a 1st option
I wouldn’t say a ghost, he’s been pretty good in playoffs as a third option. Last year against the wolves, he was apparently suffering from a toe injury, which can absolutely be uncomfortable as can be. But you’re right, Brunson can and will cook most teams as a first option type of player. I guess Reaves is still more of a Robin to Lukas Batman.

It’s crazy to put Reaves in the same tier based on one regular season as the second option. Especially when he had an awful playoffs last season.
I wouldn’t put him in the same tier as Brunson for that very reason, I just see the similarities in their game.
Playoffs is definitely the difference maker here though to me. Even in Dallas Brunson was very good in that run to the WCF, Reaves has yet to prove that (although Reaves I do think was legit in that run to the western finals, but he was clearly a 3rd option then).
There’s a massive difference between what Brunson does and what Reeves does. Everyone is trying to stop Brunson, everyone is trying to stop Luka, Reeves get nowhere near that attention.
Reaves as a 1 option still produces at a high level though in the regular season albeit in a very small sample.
People also had these very same questions about Brunson though when he went to the Knicks, can he be the main option on offense. That’s definitely a question Reaves has not answered that Brunson has, but time will tell if he gets the chance.
