[Highlight] Donovan Mitchell holds the ball in an interesting way, with one hand, to force a jump ball (with a replay)
that grown men strength
[removed]
6’2” with a 6’10” wingspan, what the fuck 😳
That’s a foul
That was good call
Your a foul
Not at all.
no it’s not broÂ
Why are the Hornets wearing Utah’s sunset jerseys?
Seriously… Half the league has knocked off those legendary jerseys already and now hornets are doing it and it’s not even their colors? They’ve really lost the plot imo
It still works if you view it as a beehive, we like them
Yeah, I can see that. And I like the homage to the old pinstripe jerseys. Just seems like everyone feels like they need to incorporate the fade/blend look instead of just doing their own thing
Well…you guys are hornets though.
Bobcats and Carolina cougars inspired colors.
Not exactly a direct match but we’ve used all these colors in the past so its still works.
Tbh I had forgotten all about the Bobcats lol
Bruh it’s inspired by Queen charlotte’s favorite flower ! Cannot make that crap up
It’s the Bird-Of-Paradise color scheme, which was the favorite flower of Queen Charlotte. I learned that tonight.
It reminds me of tide detergent
Hope you learn something as good tomorrow in Ms. Reed’s third grade class!
Jumped balls more like it
The ol’ reach around
Is this not a Reach-In Foul?
Reach-around foul
I’m happy to know Donovan Mitchell is the type of guy to have the goddamn common courtesy of giving a reach around
Jesus H Christ
Ah, Gotcha. Thank you
Only if there’s illegal contact. He has all balls here.
Seriously though, why would reaching in be a foul if there’s no illegal contact?
No illegal contact? He is literally grabbing Brandon Miller by the jersey the entire play lmfao. He went to the line for a shooting foul from the logo for less contact.
That was before the jump ball.
Exactly, he fouled him to have a chance lmao. It’s just hacking
Ha, as if that foul still exists in the league. I don’t remember what year I really started noticing it, maybe 2022? But hand-checking may as well be back in today’s NBA.
Same and there are battles at the point of the attack every night every possession on and off ball. Guys are just too active and shifty not to. Just have to pray for a good reputation or a good whistle that night
Considering how many offensive fouls go uncalled in today’s nba, I think it’s more than fair for defenders to have a couple of their own. You can carry, travel, and then drop your shoulder right into the defender and then snap your head back and get free throws for your trouble.
Reach around
His hand was on the ball before real contact was made with the offensive players arm/body, then he just kept it there.
WTF are these hornets unis?
For some insane reason they want to be the Jazz
Doesn’t everyone?
A blemish to our eyes
Honeycomb
Bird of Paradise flower colors, a favorite of Queen Charlotte of Mecklenburg-Strelitz
Just going way too deep on that shit. Just like the Blazers having a turquoise stripe on a jersey to mimic the carpet at the Portland Airport. Like … what? PDXers love that shit but c’mon, it’s pretty ridiculous, right?
I legitimately love em despite that their so similar to the Jazz’s old statement ones.
that ain’t basketball.. that’s ballball!
Bol Bol MVP
Bol Bol nodded
Unrelated but that yellow retro Hornets logo just healed a part of my soul, got damn that’s crispy
Refs are garbage lol
I’m dead lmao
Jump ball feels right. Since both Mitchell had possession of the ball and Miller has possession of the balls.
Miller needs to get that shoulder fixed
I was wondering how interesting could it be the way he held it. It lived up to the title.
Was number 11 setting a screen? Can he move his foot like that?
No that’s a moving screen
Don Mitch trying to check to see if the young buck is a real threat to his title of meat off champion or not
They call him spida for a reason
Hope he took Miller on a date before or after
That was all balls smh
Which ball did he grab?
wtf is this Court and Jersey
when a guy is banging you down low
Ref biased as hell
In this play? Maybe DMitch fouled by pushing/holding his jersey but that’s usually pretty permissible in the NBA, especially if there is precedent in the game.
The wrap up is clean though, DMitch has control of the ball and the offensive player gets caught up in it.
Yeah this doesn’t seem like much of a foul. I’m completely unbiased if anything I’m a little biased towards Hornets. He doesn’t make much contact. He anticipated the handoff and had his hand on the ball almost immediately.
Edit: the grabbing of the jersey and lil push beforehand could be called depending on how loose/tight they’re calling the game. Sometimes they let em play physical. Just realized you said pretty much the same thing but yeah I agree with you 100%
How was this not the right call?
You mean other than the fact that Mitchell was clearly fouling him?
Idk. That’s just physical defense to me. OKC does that every play.
Refs are on a whole mission this game (nothing new)
‘foot to foot contact’
bro couldve just said he tripped him lol
