[Joel Lorenzi] Jaden Ivey on his first DNP in his career: I’m not the J.I. I used to be. The old J.I. is dead. I’m alive in Christ no matter what the basketball setting is.
It’s sad to see young players regress
That injury may have ruined Ivey’s career. If he can’t get minutes on a misfit bulls team……
Fucking Cole Anthony hate him
So happy he didn’t report to the Suns after the trade.
He did the same shit to Sharpe, luckily Sharpe was able to avoid most of the contact.
Diving for loose balls like his family’s life is on the line and shit.
And then kept doing it
Yup I believe he did It to someone on Portland. Just reckless as hell
It’s how the Magic are coached. Multiple different players on that team have done ridiculously dirty shit the past 3-4 years.
Desmond Bane became a menace once he joined Orlando
he’s always been a menace. Jamahl Mosley looks so tired of his shit
The jersey ceremony, coming home with his mom to Detroit…this all sucks ass. FCA all day man.
The guy who was crying on the court after diving for a loose ball?
Ya that guy. He always has that “I’m going to cry” face when he gets a foul call.
It’s complicated, obviously the first leg injury was the main catalyst for his reregssion. But then in pre season he got a new knee injury which seems to be the main problem for him now
As far as I’m aware his lingering knee issues are stemming from the surgery he had on his broken leg
Different legs but a common occurrence due to excessively compensating on the healthy leg
There’s an absolutely iconic piece on this from a biomechanics physio expert the Blazers brough in to work with Greg Oden, he was like “yo this guy is overcompensating everywhere, his entire lower body is going to explode, we need to shut him down and do this that etc.” and the Blazers laughed at him. sigh.
https://www.blazersedge.com/2012/4/12/2942283/investigation-the-curious-case-of-greg-oden-and-zig-ziegler
Also TIL:
Greg Oden’s career-altering injuries were rooted in a severe, long-term biomechanical imbalance that began in 6th grade, stemming from a 6-inch growth spurt that caused his right hip to detach from its socket. Although surgery repaired the hip, it resulted in his right leg being 8 millimeters shorter than his left, forcing his body to adjust to a constant, uneven gait.
If you are an NBA GM, you had this information, and a team doctor that wasn’t in a coma at the time, you should be fired on the spot for drafting this guy. Sorry. He was never, EVER going to have a sustainable pro career. Great guy. Great human. His body was too big, strong, grew too fast, etc., for itself.
edit: didn’t know he beat on a woman. NOT great human. Awful human.
Kind of crazy 8 mm can do it. Not even 1 cm and only .315 inches. Such a small difference that a non athlete wouldn’t notice but a huge impact
Would guess a lot was due to hip becoming detached and imbalance in strength following surgery that was as never fixed vs just the length difference
Crazy to me cuz I’m a semi professional player and my physio noticed I have a noticeable difference in leg length (right leg longer) and my hip is tilted because of it. I can feel it doing certain things but idk I’m 30 and only 6’3 and never had any issues with my knees or hips or anything other than a few episodes of tendonitis
I’d imagine a lot of people in your position continue without issue but great to potentially get ahead of it
I had plantar fasciitis at 12 and then repeated lower body soft tissue injuries like torn hamstring and quads and now torn hip labrum. PT in your teens isn’t the most serious and avoided it as an adult cuz I just play for fun now but the hip brought me back after trying to manage for years on my own. Turns out my hamstrings have a 30% strength difference, bad hip morphology, and after years the labrum is pretty fucked all over.
All to say seems like an injury and improper healing triggers a lot of subsequent issues
Oden was on 60 Minutes as a high schooler advocating for the draft to allow HS players again. His family knew it was only a matter of time before his body gave out and they were desperate to get him paid before it happened.
and you can’t blame them, how disastrous would it be if your body gave out before you could sign a contract that would change your families entire way of life. Not to mention your medical bills lingering over you do the rest of your life
i followed this guy, they discredited and ostracized him
I went through a lot of bullshit with my similar injury. Doctors werent really much help, it was my chiro who first diagnosed me and put me on a treatment path. So many anti-chiro people said shit about me making it up or it being something else. I thought I was gonna have to go on disability and contimplated suicide because I didnt see a way through. It still sucks a lot of people are like “so what happened” and I dont have an easy answer for it without sounding crazy.
I am unwinding a similar injury. I just had a slightly off angle where my hip would sit but I never really noticed because it never caused issues. Im not a pro athlete but I did a bunch of sports and stuff thru my 20s and early 30s and minor injuries built up to the point I had to shut down completely. It was like my whole body gave out I felt like I aged 10 years in one. As the injuries healed I realized it was all connected along the same kinetic chains and was connected to this slight hip imbalance I have had since I can remember. That was 3 years ago and I am still putting my body back together. Now I am very acutely aware of when other people have misalignments in their movement patterns and it hurts to see. But at age 39 I can sit cross-legged without pain for the first time in my entire life
Literally was what happened to Hali in the finals. Nagging hammy turned into blown achilles because of overcompensating
Bily Kennedy pulled his hammy compensating for his repaired knee. It’s not just pro athletes, it happens all the time. The PT isn’t optional
the PT isn’t optional
Seriously this. I think it was PG who talked about how the early days after an injury are the hardest because the stuff you have to do is so boring. It’s so simple that it feels like you’re wasting your time. But yeah you have to reestablish your base. You’ll just be reinjured if you start with a shaky foundation
This is just not true at all. First of all it was a calf injury that was on the injury report. Second it probably was the Achilles that was bothering him. So really not true at all but sounds good.
As a veteran of 6 leg surgeries that started with a minor knee injury and surgery, I can attest that it was all down hill from there.
Left knee Lateral release, then left Achilles rupture/repair, meniscus X three (left 2, right 2) then same Achilles rebuild/clean up using toe tendon/ligament.
Now staring down double knee replacement due to arthritis.
It’s been a shit show for 20+ years.
Hate to see it happen to people that make their living off their physical abilities.
It’s different legs though
Maybe from compensation? Knee might have had issues before but depending on it for that long mightve aggravated something
Was it a “new” injury?
Yes, it’s the right knee and it was his left broken fibula.
“The procedure and discomfort are unrelated to the fibula injury suffered last season,” the team said in a statement on Thursday.
I understand.
However, we know through study of physiology that the body is interconnected in about every way. When an injury occurs we understand other muscle groups/ligaments compensate. This injury did not occur directly as a result of on court “collision”, but him having no real history of knee issues pre or post draft is telling.
Maybe you view that as complicated, but I certainly do not.
The 2022 draft had 3 score-first shooting guards taken consecutively - Ivey, Mathurin and Sharpe. Ivey and Mathurin aren’t on their original teams and Sharpe got an extension that I think will end up being a bad contract.
I’d argue that all 3 of those guys needed to go to a team that would give them a green light to chuck the ball. Mathurin certainly didn’t get that on the Pacers. Ivey had a few things not go his way for his development (the Cole Anthony injury and also Monty loving Killian Hayes).
Either way, I think those types of players have become devalued in today’s league - unless you’re a star, teams basically need their off-guards to be either 3&D guys or a second point guard.
I just wish we drafted Keegan Murray honestly. The Kings got clowned for taking him so high, but in hindsight he looks like the right choice.
Mathurin has had a fantastic start with the Clippers, but we’ll have to see how he pans out there long term.
I think he’ll be good as a key role player, but not an integral member of their core.
Mathurin’s good for explosive games as we just saw, but his first two games with the Clippers were ass and everyone’s conveniently forgotten that.
Maybe the first game, shooting wise, but he was good in the second Houston game.
just letting you know that you’ll be wrong about Sharpes contract
This guy mentions Sharpe being bad and a bad contract frequently on this sub.
Can’t say he has bad arguments in regards to TS%, but we’ll see if he ends up being correct or not.
He’s the youngest of the 3 and still has a lot of runway left. Has to get more consistent though.
He’s been under league average TS for the entirety of his career.
nominally and also, don’t care. if you watched him play basketball you can see the tangible improvement in his game each season. and his contract is like 12% of the cap. he’s the second guy to get the basketball in his hands on the team fwiw. it’s fine to just look at data i would probably do the same if i was talking about anyone on the Pacers, most people dont watch every NBA team buddy
The kings have basically done everything in their power to not accomodate Keegan as a prospect going forward. Signed a bunch of guards to take all the shots and push him to the 4 because they had no 4s despite him being a natural 3.
It’s likely that the plan is to rotate guys in and out of the lineup to see which ones are worth keeping.
Plus if they say Ivey is unplayable they can low ball him in RFA because no one is going to overpay to take him away.
It’s more likely that after practicing, they saw how he stacks up against the other guards. That weird ass fake, fake, fake throw it to the other team turnover had to be an absolutely bizarre film session.
They’re not in danger of having to low ball him, Cam Thomas was just cut. Grimes was stiffed.
Any time they start talking like this, it’s over and they know it.
“At the end of a day, I’m a good father, and that’s all that matters.” Anytime you hear this one, it’s completely over
Yeah depressing to hear a guy in his early 20s saying this tho
Right? This is on some, “any last words?” shit
He made generational wealth for himself in a couple short years, he’ll be alright. We regular folks get life-ruining injuries with nothing to show for it, that is depressing.
“Basketball isn’t that important. Family is what’s really important.”
Yeah they out of the league once their contract is done.
Damn, how bad was this injury? The guy was a lotto pick. Isn’t this his what? 3rd year?
He was 22 averaging 17/4/4 shooting 41% from 3 and he looked like a perfect SG to play next to Cade, Cole genuinely ruined his career. He was one of the faster players in the league and was improving a lot with our shooting coach, now that he’s a lot slower so players know he can’t blow past them so they play him tighter and his off ball movement is horrible now so he struggles to get open.
He cried on draft night because his family has ties to Detroit and genuinely wanted to be here so it really sucks to see
If he was able to keep that trajectory, I really wonder what his contract extension would’ve looked like.
I like the idea of having a pure floor-spacer next to Cade, but Ivey did that and a lot more. He seemed like he was going to be a supercharged version of Andrew Nembhard on offense.
If he just plateaus at 18ish ppg…it’s probably a $100m contract minimum. Tough pill to swallow.
I still have faith JI will be a solid player in this league. He was on track to be a top 25 type player. I think once he gets fully healthy and accepts what his role will be, he will still contribute in this league. Just not at the level he wants to. I think he can still be a volume scoring 6th man.
If I was part of JI’s crew, I’d be doing anything and everything in my power to get Derrick Rose in as an assistant coach. Probably the only guy in league history with a game predicated 100% on explosiveness that was able to completely rework his play style to stay relevant
Yeah that would be a perfect fit.
Top 25 player 😂
they gotta take emojis away from some of you
Alright relax he’s a career 54% TS player. As a player where the only value he provides is scoring. You might be exaggerating just a bit on how good he was.
Also he has great competitive energy. Really hope this is a temporary setback for him.
when they get christ-like? \s
He was like this before the injury
Sucks the two most explosive guards from Indiana colleges in the past 15 years knees gave out on them. (Oladipo, Ivey)
It’s just the Indiana way.
It sucks that he’s given up hope. Maybe he doesn’t know how to get back to how he used to play, maybe it’s not possible; but he shouldn’t give up. Adjust your game, get better at other things that mae a guard great; hope he can get with a good shooting coach and trainer and learn ways to still be good.
Yeah it sure went bad for Steph
Fuck Cole Anthony dear lord
I was looking up what happened to Jaden Ivey, figured he had a couple of injuries but it was from that collision I guess
I never saw the injury before right now, and Anthony fucking HHH chop-blocks his ass. That shit was malicious
Shit deserved a suspension. Orlando always injures people it’s crazy
FR it’s crazy what they get away with. Feels like every fanbase in the east hates Orlando because we’ve nearly all had player(s) injured by them.
i remember not long after he did the exact same thing to shadon sharpe
luckily no serious injury occurred but the fact he didn’t learn from the first time just tells me he is a seriously dirty player
He’s out of the league right now, for what it’s worth.
Wow, I never actually saw the video until just now. You’re right, fuck Cole Anthony.
His mom coaches Notre Dame so this checks out
Yeah he literally went to a catholic high school before Lalumiere prep school.
An Ivey league school
He didn’t “find god” until after college. I’m speculating but based on when/how he started going all in on getting baptized and being super religious, I’m assuming it’s because he got caught cheating on his wife who had recently given birth to his first child. It’s never said by anyone that he did cheat but part of his “finding god” was because he stated he had previously lived a life of promiscuity… so I’m just connecting dots.
I’m pretty sure the religious stuff has nothing to do with basketball and purely because he can’t keep his dick in his pants.
Edit: he posted about a life of promiscuity and other actions that caused pain to the people around him on his IG story in the summer of 2023 or 2024 (can’t remember it was after his son was born). I’m speculating on why he found god, not that he cheated. Him and his wife were pretty clear that there was infidelity.
how do you know this
Social media. I went to Purdue and follow Ivey on IG where he posted some things a few years ago about “finding god” and how he is a better man now, blah blah blah. A lot about “I hurt the people closest to me”.
hey man this is pretty fucked up. maybe don’t speculate that a dude blew up his family and cheated on his wife and is faking being religious. leave dude alone. you’re just spreading theory based on speculation slandering dude. his mom works at notre dame and he spent time in catholic school according to a different comment. it’s completely possible dude just had a change in priorities and grew into his religious background due to seeing his career slipping away from injury. don’t just speculate on dudes life
I’m not really speculating; he posted it on his IG Story a few years ago. His wife did the same thing…
I didn’t say he was faking being religious, just stating it feels like he only became religious because of past issues.
Also, he’s not catholic, so going to catholic school and his mom being hired by ND in 2020 when Ivey was already 18 years old isn’t super relevant as he was already going off to college and then the nba..
And no offense but you didn’t even know his mom is head coach at ND women’s bball, so you’re commenting on something that’s clearly out of your own element…
And his religious discovery happened before his injury, it was 2-3 years ago.
Jesus Christ ain’t giving you a new fibula
“Look, I know what happened the last time I gave you motherfuckers a bone and that was just a rib…”
Fuck Cole Anthony
It was probably reckless, but I don’t think it was a dirty play by Cole. If you watch it from the baseline he’s not even looking at Ivey. He’s just diving for a loose ball. Cole was also crying after the play, so he clearly felt horrible about it.
I think it was dirty, but not intentional. You’re responsible for controlling your body on the court. Jaden Ivy clearly beat him out for possession there and Cole dove for it. Just a terrible decision.
Edit: reckless, not dirty.
Dirty play is literally all about intent. Buddy was hustling and dove for a loose ball there’s nothing at all dirty about that.
You’re right. I should’ve used the word reckless instead of dirty.
Is it even reckless though? He dove for a loose ball. Sometimes you get hurt playing sports it’s sad but it just is what it is.
I believe so. It was an uncontrolled dive with high potential for injury.
Yeah very reckless move, a lot of dudes are reckless and not dirty compared to the obvious ones who you know are dirty as fuck
shh we don’t allow nuanced takes on this here on r/nba
they need a scapegoat and Cole is an easy target
Call Anthony is the dirtiest player in the fucking NBA. You can cry all the fuck you want about Isaiah Stewart. He has never done anything even close to this to somebody. You can watch the replays, Anthony gets up fucking smiling.
I don’t even think Stew is dirty, do people think that? Guy gets into fights and everything but that’s different imo. but yea fuck Cole Anthony
Beef Stew is better classified as “aggressive” than dirty.
I think the word I was looking for is “confrontational” but aggressive works too. Either way, of all the clips I’ve seen of Stew I don’t think I’ve ever thought he did something dirty
I think unhinged fits too
I don’t disagree, I love his energy but I wish he could better channel the anger. But unhinged is fair for how he reacts.
People think beef stew is dirty?! Bro is just unhinged, not dirty lmao. No, but in all seriousness, stew sticks up for his teammates, fights for them. He gets himself in trouble, he doesn’t play (or fight for that matter 😂) dirty in any sense. I’ve never actually seen people say this about him and they shouldn’t be
God and Jesus have really been working in the NBA lately.
Yeah, God and Jesus love the NBA!
Fortunately the world is doing so well right now they can focus on the players. s/
God isnt worried about war or poverty, but that incredible jump shot we see in a player from time to time.
What does “I’m alive in Christ” even mean? Why do they always word things so strangely?
it’s phrasing specific to their faith.
like a mantra to focus your thoughts on thankfulness and humility, versus letting success and celebrity feed their ego.
that they may accomplish something great, but they’re given the opportunity to compete because of god, and they are showing that they understand and appreciate their reality
He’s saying that regardless of whatever happens on the basketball court and his NBA career, it’s not gonna effect him too much mentally since that’s not the main focus/foundation of his life over his personal faith
It’s a phrasing only certain groups of Evangelicals will use. But in Christian theology, baptism is a sort of rebirth, and so he is saying his new life is through his faith.
I guess we can conclude from this that God loves gambling.
King James Bible brought to you by DraftKings.
I always wonder about this. Presumably both teams have guys who talk endlessly about Christ so if you lose does that mean God likes the other guy more?
If you lose it’s part of god’s plan to make you stronger.
Any singular event in these guys’s lives is rationalized through “God’s plan”
I don’t think they think God picks winners and losers like a kalshi bet. God helps give them the strength to perform their best.
If you don’t believe in god it’s not going to seem rational, because like you said, what if they lose. But faith isn’t rational.
You’re right. You sure have to be an irrational person to have “faith”
christian’s don’t believe god will make you win a sporting event if you pray better lol
they’re thanking god for the opportunity and for the blessing to be alive, healthy, born a pro athlete and living that life
it sounds weird if you don’t understand the belief, but it’s ultimately just giving thanks in general, not really as ego-centric as you’re taking it
Then why not just say that? Religious people sure love to do mental gymnastics
Yes
In the NFL Tony Pollard had a similar injury, came back 9 months later, and looked like all his explosiveness was gone. The next year he signed with the Titans and while his numbers didn’t improve too much cause the Titans line was way worse than the Cowboys you could clearly see his burst was back.
I still have hope that that he can come back and be a good player next season as his leg continues to get stronger, just hope he doesn’t get too in his head about it.
Pollard breaking his leg against the 49ers was the end of that playoff game for the cowboys /: hope both these dudes can continue to improve from their injuries!
Titans fan here. Tony isn’t the same player he was in Dallas, he’s gone from being ab explosive breakaway threat to being more of a grind it out guy. He’s lost a lot of juice but he changed his running style to compensate
I think it depends on his attitude. If he hasn’t given up completely, he could put in the work this offseason and get back close to where he was.
People shouldn’t criticize him for being so religious. He’s a good kid who went through a horrible injury. When things are this bad and out of your control, sometimes believing in something bigger to fix everything and help you through it can give you the strength to keep moving forward.
Why should anyone criticize someone for being so religious? The only thing people should be critizing someone on is their character.
Someone’s character and religion often go together.
Always goes together. Religion is philosophy. Religion is going to determine everything about you and how you see the world.
Do people criticize him for being religious? Or are you making stuff up ?
I do find it hilariously silly how so many athletes in the US suddenly became so outspoken about their religion. It’s basically like they can do no wrong because Jesus is behind the wheel.
My absolute favorite are MMA fighters, who go from literally trying their best to hurt another person as much as possible, and then a second later thank Jesus for it :D
Honestly, to me it’s more that religion in American media is kind of a gimmick, or just something you say because you’re expected to say it nowadays. Which is pretty interesting, because overall Americans are becoming less religious, but if you watch modern media, you wouldn’t think that’s the case.
Yes, a lot of people criticize athletes for being religious, including on this post.
Here’s a quick example:
https://www.reddit.com/r/nba/s/YGczSsgiqZ
I wouldn’t criticize him for being religious but I do think the constant “Jesus this, Jesus that” from some of these guys is unprofessional.
Fuck Zaza
I love you
Oh brother….
I shared this in our sub but I’ll say it here too:
I still haven’t recovered from the whole Ivey saga
I’ll never forget buying one of his jerseys that year Cade was injured and Ivey was stepping up to fill the void
I bought another one the nextJanuary when he put up 30+ points in a game
I remember when Cole Anthony injured him and my heart just broke for the kid
And I remember how excited I was for his return this summer
Sports are not for the faint of heart. Shit is just such a bummer, his trajectory was looking so promising and now the only thing left of one of my favorite pistons at the time is this flair and those jerseys in my closet
I really hope he has a comeback one day. If he ever won MIP I’d probably cry
Brother I watched my franchises second best player OF ALL TIME get traded for CJ McCoulm and Kispert. Y’all still have Cade and a squad
Bob Pettit got traded for CJ McCollum?
Lmao well yes my team is still doing objectively great and will 100% be fine, as a Pistons fan I understand the move completely
More just the way we as fans can fall in love with specific players for our team whether they’re the best player or not or great for us or not
Dont even ask me about the DRose Pistons stint, I still got that jersey in my closet too 😭
Maybe I just like overly athletic guards…
Seems like a professional and level headed answer for someone dealing with coming back from injury, being traded and DNP’d. I think he is just trying to keep focused and not get emotionally derailed. His pillar is his faith so that what he is relying on. I don’t think it means he is giving up at all.
I guess it was a good thing Detroit got off this guy when they did
I still feel bad about how this is shaking out, but I was praying (metaphorically) for him to get traded in October/November.
I know that the Bulls have, so far, gotten a pretty low return on Ivey, bur I’m still hoping he can mount a comeback somehow. I watched this guy back when he competed in the FIBA U-19 Cup with Chet Holmgren, and I was really hoping that we’d get one of the two on the Bulls eventually. My wish came true for Ivey, but it’s a massive shame how it hasn’t been working out so far. I know that our roster construction is absolute dogshit with 20 guards, but I still hope he can bounce back.
It won’t be this season, but hopefully in the offseason he can heal up. The timing is unfortunate for Ivey because he’s a restricted free agent.
I’ve always hated Cole Anthony. Fuck that scrub.
Cole Anthony ruined his career
Sounds like he’s not taking it so well.
I mean, can you blame him? His entire career is in jeopardy all because of one stupid motherfucker.
Reading the comments, I keep seeing “Fuck Cole Anthony”, and in my half asleep stupor, I’m sitting here thinking what did J. Cole do to this kid?
I really need a coffee.
Cole Anthony like a little over a season ago ran into Ivy (or something I don’t remember the details) and caused him to have a season ending injury while he was having the best season of his career. Since coming back from injury Ivy hasn’t looked the same and after breaking out a season ago looks like he has gotten worse this season.
Dove into Iveys leg. Fractured his tibula. Really hard to come back from that.
It was very reckless, but not intentional as a lot of comments in this post would make you believe.
I know, we all feel that way when we’re inside our loved ones.
When we’re what???????
You heard me.
I need an adult
Inside
Inside.
Pistons been seeing this daily and said nah son, pack your shit.
Fuck Cole Anthony and Monty. The former can step on a lego for an eternity, and the latter played fucking Killian Hayes over him and stunted his development.
I’m gonna use the phrase “I’m alive in Christ” whenever I want to end a conversation.
More religious rhetoric. Just what we need in sports.
Wish this young man nothing but the best in his career. Hope his spiritually gets him through this.
That’s really sad
Amen brother. Jesus Christ is king 👑
Really unfortunate for Ivey but I legitimately can’t understand the sentiment that diving for a loose ball is a dirty play. It’s a part of basketball at every level growing up, just because you see it infrequently in the nba doesn’t make it less of a basketball play
must be the initials
Is that right?
I’m relieved his knee soreness is in his knee
Team Christ is stacked!
I’m not religious myself, but it’s refreshing to see someone reference Jesus not just when things are going well, which is the usual situation. Things are going well? “Jesus gave me the strength to persevere and overcome challenges to be here.” Things aren’t going well? Crickets. Who is Jesus anyway?
Jaden stands by his faith through thick and thin and I respect him for that.
Religion is so tiresome
Mental illness is rampant.
Poor guy. He does well in 2k26 tho.
He doesn’t seem to care about excelling in basketball anymore.
He’s a great shooter still, I’ve seen players come back from knee operations I had no idea it could be this bad though. Hopefully he can revive his career somehow because last season he was playing so damn well shooting 40 percent from 3 averaging 18. Pistons are playing well but in that playoff setting we needed an Ivey. Hit so many clutch shots. Idk if I’ll ever fully recover from this
He’s put up very good numbers offensively so far in his 4 games in Chicago. What’s going on?
Sounds allot like droses story before he committed himself to rehabbing and re inventing himself athletes that lose the one thing that made them special often feel like it’s over for them and they go to a very very dark place prayers for him man
Injuries really derail some of these guys careers
The knee soreness he’s talking about sounds a lot like Kawhi the last few years
Hope that he can get back to being the guy he used to be.
Seems like a good person, and a guy to root for.
Thank goodness he’s alive in Christ, whatever the fuck that means
My brother has been born again, into a new spiritual life. Happy for him, and hope he can make a strong comeback in the league. Whatever happens, his faith should give him a strong foundation for the rest of his life.
Galatians 2:20 - “I have been crucified with Christ and I no longer live, but Christ lives in me. The life I now live in the body, I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave himself for me.” (NIV)
Ephesians 2:4–5 - “But because of his great love for us, God, who is rich in mercy, made us alive with Christ even when we were dead in transgressions—it is by grace you have been saved.” (NIV)
Titus 3:3-7 - “At one time we too were foolish, disobedient, deceived and enslaved by all kinds of passions and pleasures. We lived in malice and envy, being hated and hating one another. But when the kindness and love of God our Savior appeared, he saved us, not because of righteous things we had done, but because of his mercy. He saved us through the washing of rebirth and renewal by the Holy Spirit, whom he poured out on us generously through Jesus Christ our Savior, so that, having been justified by his grace, we might become heirs having the hope of eternal life.” (NIV)
It’s Joever 😔
Damn man, hopefully he can bounce back he for sure was rising fast before the injury
Can anyone make out what brand that jacket is?
When does he say this quote ? I just listened to it he never says the old Ji is dead
Rooting for Ivey. Seems like a good dude from a good family.
RIP old J.I.
Sad to see this man
Mental Health on the decline confirmed
Professional athletes are so dumb and uneducated. All of them just give glory and thanks to sky daddy.
No wonder the majority of them go bankrupt, they are going on press conferences proudly stating how dumb and easy to trick they are.
They are showing everyone that they are the Mark
We call sudden religious conversion or expression ‘reaction formation’ or defensive conversion in the field. Think of it as a type of psychological defense mechanism. In psychoanalytic terms, reaction formation occurs when a person acts in a way opposite to their unconscious impulses or anxieties. Someone struggling with feelings of doubt, guilt, moral conflict etc. may suddenly embrace over the top religiousness. Not just as belief, but as a visible zealous lifestyle, in order to counteract internal feelings. ‘Religious Compensation’ is a defense against anxiety, fear, or existential insecurity. The person may be denying previously unacknowledged doubts or immoral impulses by replacing them with strict moral and religious adherence. This is a ‘projection’ of their own forbidden desires onto the world using adoption of rigid religious observance to manage it. I usually see it when patients suddenly face mortality, uncertainty, or personal failure. It can trigger an urgent need for structure, meaning, reassurance from religious beliefs.
Man as a Bulls fan who was happy to get him, this answer just reminds me of D Rose and I’m not happy lol. It’s just sad and not to mention Lonzo… we keep getting good young guards who get hurt
Complete joke they give Dilly any minutes over him
Pretty healthy mindset actually.
