This is why teams realistically should foul up by 3. LAC did everything right here and Murray just straight flopped and got the whistle.

I just don’t know what the alternative is here for DJJ outside of giving Murray an open shot. People are saying there’s body contact, meanwhile DJJ got to a spot in time and Murray leaned into him in the jump.
Like are you just supposed to give offensive players 2 feet of space so that there is absolutely no way whatsoever for there to be any level of contact initiated by the shooter?
Goes back to my point that if THIS level of contact will be whistled, then a coach should 100% of the time opt to foul when up by 3, because the alternative is offering up way too much space to be from the offensive player creating contact for a call.
Imo they should fouled earlier and sent Nuggets for two free throws, They could avoided that questionable call. That was not only the bad foul by us though, Like Dunn and Mathurin fight with JV, Collins close out on cam, Bad foul by collins in 3rd Qrt, Couple bad fouls in 4th by Lopez. They are obviously playing hard but some of the fouls were just brutal to do.

That’s 100% a foul, look at Jamal get into his shooting motion and jones jr get into his shooting space after Jamal shoots. If jones would’ve stayed where he was when Jamal started to shoot, he would’ve been fine, this is foul 10 times out of 10
Look at how Jamal lunges his upper body into DJJ. This is not a natural shooting motion and obviously just done to bait the foul.
Lunge? lol. Look at him starting his shot, Jamal moves about 2” in the air and Derick makes knee to knee contact already. Jumping forward 2” is a pretty normal shooting motion

Gave Murray no space to land? How much space is an offensive player entitled to? DJJ got himself into solid position and Murray initiates the contact with a subtle, but still unnatural shooting motion.
At no point is DJJ encroaching on Murray’s landing space either. Like look at their feet, Murray’s landing space is not considered where DJJ is, otherwise it’d literally be impossible to contest shooters. The landing space DJJ can’t take is undercutting the shooter from where they took off and a natural area of where they’d land by going up and down.
