There are more great scorers who never had their Draymond than there are Draymonds, which is why it’s funny when people want to act like Steph somehow made him good. Lillard, Harden, and Luka are still waiting for their Draymond. Lots of guys spend their whole prime looking for that type of help. I guess it’s not so easy for a good scorer to magically turn his supporting cast into generational level defensive players.
That being said, Draymond is a bad scorer and probably past his best years. Not a recipe for dominating on a team with no Jimmy or Steph.

On the other hand, there has been plenty of teams that have turned around their defensive fortunes with 1 or 2 players arriving. Mavs did it winning in 2011 with Tyson Chandler and also as recent as two years ago going to the finals after aquiring P.J. Washington and Daniel Gafford mid season

Also, every NFL team can easily find Ray Lewis or Ed Reed because it’s very easy to obtain the best defensive players in the world.

PJ is about as close to Draymond as Nick Van Exel is to Curry. 0x All-Star, 0x all-defense of any kind, obviously 0x DPOY, and never getting picked to an Olympic team. Defensive players around Draymond’s level are people like Jrue, Bam, Gobert. Those are star level players. If it was easy to find them, maybe Luka, Lillard, and Harden would have some rings. Just like football, you need impact on both sides to be a consistently great NBA team. Players who provide it on defense are premium assets.
Something tells me PJ would do just fine on a team with Steph, Klay and KD.

But above just absolutely amazing, elite superstars. Just because this guy got to play with the best team ever and won. But put him on a normal team and he is not carrying his team to anything. He was always nothing more than a role player on offense, and a great defender
