As far as I know this is the first time prominent oddsmaker Kenny White’s findings have been discussed publicly.  According to legendary bookmaker Art Manteris in his new book, White (then chief operating officer of Las Vegas Sports Consultants) originally investigated 10 NBA seasons after the league contracted White in Summer 2007 to assess peculiarities.  As he got into the research, White wound up focusing on games officiated by Donaghy in the 2005-06 and 2006-07 seasons.  White identified 26 Donaghy suspicious games, for which betting line moves and Donaghy’s foul call disparities illustrated those moving the lines on Donaghy’s games would have won 25 of them.  White, who according to Manteris believed evidence existed showing many more Donaghy games were fixed, submitted his report to the NBA in Fall 2007. 

White told the Las Vegas Review-Journal in May 2008 the NBA “never called back to discuss it or anything,” and the NBA’s commissioned “Pedowitz Report” (October 2008) makes no mention of White’s findings.

Many aren’t even aware of White’s study.  Perhaps we now know why.

These revelations represent at least the third in-depth look into the 2003-07 NBA betting scandal which resulted in investigators finding Tim Donaghy fixed games.  White’s findings (based on data analysis of game calls and betting lines) preceded the FBI’s (October 2007 - “In late 2006/early 2007, it was determined that an NBA referee, TIM DONAGHY, was involved in the fixing of professional basketball games”; based on interviews with co-conspirators and pro gambler government cooperators) and each preceded another (March 2011; based on co-conspirator pro gambler Jimmy Battista’s electronic betting records, betting line analyses, and interviews of pro gamblers involved in the scheme and of federal authorities who worked the case.)
