Kings undrafted rookie Dylan Cardwell defensive tape (BenchHighlights on X)
One of the few bright spots this season
I like that Reynaud guy too!
I’d say the only bright spot unless you’re happy for Keon Ellis finally being freed
I’m also happy with the 2 other rookies
Has Keon been getting more minutes? In his homecoming he got about the same minutes as a Cav, albeit earlier in game.
I wish the team paid and played Ellis. That would be one less need for the Kangz.
I keep thinking back to when Jaylen Brown was hunting him last season. He’s a good player, but has his limitations against bigger wings.
It’s refreshing to see a big guy that understands his role: protect the rim/paint and grab rebounds. You can get yourself a fat payday in the NBA by doing just that. You didn’t have to score 20 a game.
This man is literally the only reason I’ve smiled at any point watching Kings games this year.
The brightest of spots in an otherwise bleak horror show of a season. I’m not saying he’s gonna be a great player or save our team, but if we had 4 more guys with Dylan Cardwell’s effort we’d at least be fun as shit. Dudes energy is amazing and if he can add any offensive output I truly think he will have a serviceable spot in this league. Hope he’s a king forever.
Future DPOY I’ll call it for you
Kings have drafted well in Cardwell and Raynaud. A patient rebuild of 3 years, and those guys can be nice rotation players around your franchise stars on a contender.
Cardwell wasn’t even drafted
Proud to own a Dylan Cardwell Jersey
respect
One of the most unique stories I’ve ever seen. Guy averaged 5 points and 5 rebounds in college and is in an NBA rotation.
To be fair the Kings barely qualify as an NBA rotation
The NBA is the NBA. Only 5000 or so people can say they’ve played in it.
Cardwell looked completely out of control in summer league, and that should have been the end of his NBA aspirations. Doug Christie may not be a good coach, but he saw something in Cardwell that was enough to get him to a take a closer look, and it paid off.
you wouldn’t realize he’s listed as a center the way he moves his feet. And it’s very instinctual too: sometimes it’s small feet movement, other times it’s long strides. I like how he attacked the KAT proto-closeout. KAT is a monster on closeouts off a pass, and even if the direction was easier to defend, Dylan played it well.
Defensive highlights? Of a rookie? An undrafted rookie? What happened to the sub I used to love…
Edit: you guys are no fun lmao I’m not being serious at all but I still love yall
Can we have one nice thing to be posted on the sub? God i hate the Lakers so much
Wouldn’t you rather watch a highlight of Bronny James making a routine layup?
Lol. Lmao even
Yeah because Lakers defensive highlights are so fun to watch
You’re right, they should show highlights of the games today
