I would be very surprised if he gets more than 1. I wouldn’t be surprised if he never gets any.

10 blocks is a lot, even Wemby has only ever hit that insane number twice. Additionally 10 assists is quite a bit for a big that plays like Wemby. His career high in assists is 11, and he’s only ever hit 10 thrice

He’d have to tie his current career high in both blocks and assists in the same game, which is just incredibly unlikely. Especially because he’s likely to be sitting the 4th in a blowout win if he’s already got like 20/12/8/7 after 3 quarters.

Even with how great Wemby is at getting steals and blocks, it’s just harder to get 10 these days. Teams pass around and avoid Wemby because the now teams know they are better off passing out to a jumper rather than challenging him at the rim.

I’m the 80s, teams didn’t take 3s like that, so their logic was that a closer shot was still better, even if there was an increased chance of getting blocked.

Also, most 10 block games have a weird sequence where a player gets 3 or more blocks on one possession. Wemby is too good at getting the ball to himself or a teammate on a blocked shot.

If anyone is gonna do it, it’d be Wemby. I can’t think of another current player who I could envision ending up with one of these.

Wemby is definitely the most likely player to get one. Jokic could if he got enough steals. Dyson Daniels could, so could Flagg. And maybe Walker Kessler.

I witnessed the one against the Pistons. If I ever see another, I hope it’s on our side.
