Yeah, they gave up too much (and the wrong players) in that trade. Had it been like picks + Ayton that would have been one thing, but giving up all of your wing depth/quality role players to bring in a star generally doesn’t work.

Yeah I don’t even really count Mikal’s streak tbh. He’s had at least a couple games where he checked in for less than a minute, intentionally fouled and got subbed right out. Just to keep the streak.

Doesn’t count for the record as his pending trade meant he wasn’t eligible to play.

He played 83 games in the regular season that year. I don’t see how you can claim he missed a game when he ended up playing an extra one.

He hasn’t missed any, you can look up his game logs. He has however checked himself into 2 games, immediately fouled, and subbed out. That way he technically played and kept the streak alive. Sort of bullshittery imo but hey whatever makes him happy.

Context matters, yeah. He was healthy and available to play full minutes, but didn’t because it was a meaningless game and every other starter for both teams sat out. Then he started in the 18 playoff games for the Knicks that postseason.

If he had a broken bone and couldn’t have played more than 4 seconds, then I’d say yes it was a “fake start”

He did it for a meaningless game at the end of last year. Playoff seeding was locked in. He could’ve played more minutes, but why?
