Being able to play 1 on 1 in front of a packed out arena, with millions of fans watching around the world, going up against the best of the best and proving that you’re better. I guarantee there’s guys in this league now who take as much if not more pride in their ability to go 1 on 1 than they do team basketball. They just so happen to get paid to do that.

Imagine having 5 1v1’s simultaneously where you can talk trash and you can play both offense and defense. If the 1 offensive player gets hung up they could pass to another designated offensive player, and they could complete the 1 on 1.

Get better rules. If you allow offensive rebounds taller players have an unfair advantage. Shot clock or dribble limit. Knock away is a loss of possession. Either you score or you lose possession. 1 shot.

They can make a guard bracket and a big man bracket. And a championship game from the winner of each. Depending on how many participants there are decides what the games go up to. I could see going to 15 by 2’s and 3’s. 4 people in each bracket. That’s 7 games total. Have the first round after shooting stars. Second round after the 3 point contest. And the championship game after the dunk contest.

Or it doesn’t have to be 4 guards and 4 bigs, just 8 elite iso scorers.

Either 7 second shot clock or 4 dribble limit to keep each possession from dragging. Shooting fouls get free throws. Two fouls in a row get free throws. Missing a free throw is a loss of possession. After 5 fouls bonus so missed free throws still retain possessions. No intentional fouls, that results in keeping possession too. But not foul baiting, no jumping into defenders to get a call. That’s weak as fuck SGA, Brunson and Harden. Imagine we have a 1v1 contest and they just foul each other the whole time.
