DOG I’M LITERALLY PAUSING IN THE MIDDLE OF STRETCHES TO REPLY TO THIS.
(SOURCE: AM 41 ALSO 😹)
My man 👊
What is up with that bullshit too? Random aches and pains that you never previously had, only because you dared to go to sleep at night.
Oh you thought that just because you are a bit congested you could sleep in a slightly different position did you? Fuck you, now your neck (and shoulder for some reason) are going to hurt for a week.
The feeling when when
You child.
1983 gang forever.
82 was the best because most of us were class of 00. Can’t beat that.
Imagine him being in your mind so much you feel like inserting that line in a Reddit post is a good idea.
He’s a prominent celebrity who was born the same year you fool
imagine simping for Zuckerberg
Lmao woosh
What whooshed me?
Zuckerberg was born in 1984, Slo Doug.
whoever made you did an awful job
But the point that dude is making is that of all celebrities born in ‘84 you could’ve referenced, your mind immediately sprung to somebody that you disdain
Sorry that one of the main fuck heads tearing the fabric of society apart is someone I think about. NOT thinking about these idiots is way worse.
How is that way worse. What is obsessing about zuckerberg doing for you. How is that helping your life
It’s a stupid point lmao
Rent free
Found zucks burner account
You’re downvoted but you’re right lol such a terminally online shit to write
Zuck isn’t even that relevant right now lol
Yeah the downvoting reinforces my thoughts about Reddit even outside of main hubs, the brain rot is leaking
unhealthy brains these days, people are too online.
Luka is playing till he’s 77.
Lukas game won’t age as well as LeBron’s.
That’s the thing though, LeBron’s game shouldn’t have aged this well at all since it’s dependent so heavily on his athletic ability, he’s just a freak anomaly
Luka being a slow shooter should age rather well
The main question will be his defense. He’s already not very good but age might make him a complete liability on that end
Look at James Harden. He was at times considered one of the worst defenders in the league. He is 36 and still going strong. If you have some size and can still be elite on offense you will get minutes.
Harden was a much more traditionally athletic player than Luka.
Harden was horrible at defense back then and still bad now. It doesn’t matter how much more athletic he was the fact is he is bad at defense and still gets a ton of playing time at 36.
Harden was actually always pretty good defensively and came into the league as a strong defensive player. His defensive effort fell off a cliff after he became a first option because he started conserving his energy for offense. His draft scouting report had his defense rated above all offensive attributes.
He’s always been a good post defender which Luka is not yet
I’d argue that Luka should be considered the exception to that then too. It’s one thing to be like Monte Ellis, where your team can’t afford the liability and turn overs to pay for 25ppg, it’s completely different argument for a guy who otherwise has a performance ceiling of 55-60ppg. Only like 20 players in history have even had those ceilings, you definitely treat Luka differently in your analysis than simply talking about liability. There are games in Luka’s career when he has played the sloppiest 48 minutes of basketball and still accidentally dropped 40 points.
Luka will probably age into a consistent all-star player rather than an MVP candidate in his 30s as he slows down but I don’t think he’ll ever fully lose the magic. He’ll always be a great scorer and keep his court vision.
If anything, I’ll bet he ages really well due to his passing ability. Sure, he won’t score as much once he’s a 15yr veteran, but like you said, that court vision will still be unmatched and he will still run the offense just as well.
He’ll just be what harden is now
main question is will the nba even play defense in 10 years
Brons physical shape has never been questioned though unlike Luka
Bron is just a freak of nature.
This line of thinking is so prevalent and I never understand it. There’s a baseline amount of athleticism required to be playable in the NBA, particularly on defense. Luka is way closer to that baseline now than most players of his caliber.
The difference is LeBron can slow down and still be able to contribute on defense and shift into a more shifty role like Luka.
If Luka loses a step, he won’t be able to stay on the court.
LeBron plays defense? That’s news to me. LeBron has been taking it easy on defense for the past 8 years.
LeBron is literally a good defender if you bothered to watch the games
If you think LeBron has been taking it easy, I’d love to see how you project a 35 years old and older Luka playing defense
The main thing for Luka will be conditioning and weight management. If he is able to stay around the 220-230 mark, his body should last long enough to reach 15 years as a 1st team All-NBA guy. Less stress on his legs, which are already banged up.
plus, lebron took steps to adapt his game, multiple times, if luka does the same it will extend his playability as well (tho he kinda already plays like an old-head in some ways)
i dont think anyone’s game will age as well as lebron’s
Honestly, KD.
Yes, that’s the only one.
Maybe he’ll be more injury prone but to say his game won’t age well, that’s a stretch. He’s never relied on athleticism.
Not a stretch when you add in defense. Luka is already a neutral/negative defender, losing half a step or two would be disastrous for any teams defense. Lebron has only arguably been a negative defender the past few years and we’ve seen his ability to summon enough effort in spurts to keep up.
This is what people used to say about Carmelo Anthony. Then he blew out his knee, lost a little bit of quickness in his first step, and his margin of error slipped far enough that he could no longer be a star forward in the NBA.
Luka is already significantly slower now than he was when he first entered the league. If he has some lingering lower body issue that affects his ability to consistently shift defenders, he’ll get less clean shots off and be less effective.
Do you think just because a player is slow, they can’t get slower? No amount of IQ or skill can overcome not being able to move your feet fast enough on defense
Sure, now imagine a Luka on defense that’s lost a step. He already struggles on that side of the ball.
Or a Luka that isn’t quite as quick on his first steps and decelerations. He just had less room for error comparatively.
Should it age better than ADs?
I don’t think it’s his game that won’t age as well as LeBron, I think it’s his body that won’t.
Lebron fell off until he took that trip to Miami. He is on a ton of PEDs and the NBA lets him.
Do you seriously think it’s just lebron? That’s not why he’s playing at the level he is playing at.
And your evidence is what? Feelings?
He’s been a professional basketball player since he was what, 15? Thats a long ass time for any career, let alone a professional athlete.
26 years? That’s any 48 year old working in a career they started after college. A solid 15 more years before retirement gets common for them.
It’s only a long career in like the military or pro sports.
People forget, Lila’s been a pro before before he came to the NBA. Add at least two years to whatever mmilage he’s racked up in the NBA. He’ll be gone before he turns 40.
lila
My guess is around 35, but it’s impossible to predict that. Players can say they won’t play long while they’re still in their young stage of their careers, but once you’re over 30 and you know you only have a few really elite years left in you, your perspective changes. I wouldn’t take Luka’s comments too seriously. He’s still really young for an NBA player.
Lila is that some kind of nickname
Dudes back is already a bag of gravel, he’ll be lucky to get close to 41.
Well that’s fair considering players rarely do.
ESPN: was KD right to call out Europeans?
So 42 it is
Playing till 45
I mean it’s going to be tough going against the humanoids when he’s 41.
I hope he plays until his 40s so we can see a Roethlisberger physique in the NBA
I read this as 35ish.
Retiring at 50!
Crazy the “retirement age” for athlete compared to regular folks.
He might make it to 35 and even that’s old for a basketball player.
There’s already a few comments on this post saying that Luka’s game will age well because he doesn’t rely on athleticism. Is this just wishful thinking? Like hoping unathletic players will age better because it feels “right”? The players who have aged the best historically were athletic players who added more skill over time, as they had enough athleticism to overcome father time (LeBron, Vincent Carter, Kareem, Malone etc). You can have all the IQ and skill in the world, none of it matters if you can’t move, see late career Dirk or Marc Gasol.
Not sure why Dirk is catching strays, he played for 21 years lol. His last year was a bit rough, but his late 30s were more than serviceable. GOATs GOAT.
Golf season is awaiting
I know he tired of da LeBron questions
He should have just appeased the kids and said 67
Could you imagine a 41 year old luka still crying to the refs like a 5 year old every game
His mindset is so lazy he’s so 😴😴
That’s the thing. LeBron is chasing longevity in what essentially is stat padding like the finals game where they were getting blown out and then he starts driving for meaningless points to raise his average. No one wants to play that long in the nba after having accomplishments. They wanna end their careers with their body still intact.
