Is the 1996 NBA Finals game 6 Intro the best ever?
As a 90s kid watching this always gets me so hyped. Even just hearing the beginning to the Alan Parsons Project makes me want to shout “from North Carolina, 6 6, Michael Jordan”
The Roundball Rock transition into Sirius is undefeated. That horns section still gives me chills.
This is when the other team knew they were fucked
Just from the intro alone you are already down by 10, this is boss level music
Now I’m thinking how good a souls boss with that would be. Like you beat the first health bar, but then it refills and this starts as the boss splits into 5
I wish we still had that power … it’s so quiet now in the UC when we do intros. The music, enhanced light show and scoreboard video, Benny with the flag, etc… and it just didn’t hit the same. I still get a bit of the old chill when the music hits, but it just doesn’t feel the same.
New to the NBA here, so I’ve never seen this opening. That was hype as hell, literally got chills
You need to watch The Last Dance on Netflix right now. Like right now.
Back when the finals was an event. Now it’s just another corporate sponsorship with what feels like an AAU tournament
Worth watching highlights from this era!
Bruh watching shit this live on a 13’ CRT TV was everything
literally same. i’ve only seen parts of it separately but never in full.

Absolutely legendary. Yall gonna fuck around and make me watch The Last Dance again
So glad they pushed that up during Covid
The Jordan machine.
That was when “Is LeBron actually better than Jordan?” Discussions were heating up.
And then they found out everyone had to stay at home?
Marketing masterminds.
End of the first episode is so hype where they have Sirius playing under Jordan’s speech to the crowd on opening night. “You guys remember in 1984 when they drafted Michael Jordan to the city of Chicago? I said then that we’d be champions by the time I leave. Well, we’re the 5-time champion, going for 6, and we need your support.” And then dropping the credits and the beat on “What time is it? GAME TIME” God damn that shit hits.
Legendary documentary. They hit all the beats so well.
And I know some had beef with it, players left out etc, but MJ also went to Australia and did his own major tribute to Luc Longley.

This is the real aura the kiddies are always blabbing about.
Miami Heat 2013 finals intro
2005 Pistons finals intro at the Palace
Those 3, together with 96’ Bulls are the best ones I’ve ever seen.
Bonus, Cleveland the goat hype video
Big Ben aura unmatched
I watched the playoffs last year and the Pistons crowd was in my opinion the best I’ve seen in a long time. I don’t know if it was the sound mixing, but I walked away thinking the NBA is so much better off when Pistons are good.
Awesome
The heat one was pretty cool but their video montage made it a lot less cool lol
Maybe it’s a generational thing, but when that video dropped, it was the coolest thing that had ever been posted on this subreddit. It happened before Cleveland made their 3-1 comeback in the finals, after Klay made those comments about it being a mans league and LeBron’s feelings got hurt.
The 2013 Miami heat video dropped in the 2017 finals for the Cavs?
I got really confused Heat leBron with Cavs LeBron, read it wrong. I thought you meant the bonus video, sorry.
All good. In the heat one, the video they play on the jumbo screen with ray allen shirtless and lighting weights just made it weird 😆
OMG thanks for the Cleveland video that’s so great. My third biggest regret is drinking so heavily during that series I don’t remember most of it. To be fair… It made you wanna drink
My best friend was travelling from Sweden to Miami and I bought him tickets to the Heat in the playoffs, him and his GF. I can’t remember the exact price, they were quite cheap, like $350 or something, 15 or so rows behind the home bench, so fucking excellent seats. It was the 1st round during the LeBron years, I can’t remember what year exactly or who they were facing. My friend liked basketball too, so they were a bit dumbstruck and in awe of me purchasing them for them.
I don’t think they went. They probably couldn’t for some reason, maybe their plans were tied while in Florida because I never saw a single picture posted on social media, and neither of them ever mentioned it. I never asked about it either, us being close friends, I knew there was some legit reason for them not going and we’ve just left it unsaid to this day.
You are a bigger man than me, I would make snide jokes about it forever
I personally always think of this intro from the Pistons ‘04 run whenever I think of that intro. Basically the same, but I love that they tried to give Larry Brown a heart attack at the end lol
I wasn’t a pistons fan growing up but I absolutely LOVED their in ring announcer. Even today anyone I know called Ben would be buh buh buh buh buh BEN WALLACE. and of course the DE-TROIT BASKET-BALL
the kid rock doesn’t age great though

Draymond as a hyena is just too perfect.
That Bulls intro is pretty iconic even now.
Its probably the 2nd most iconic NBA music next to NBC’s round ball rock
I totally understand why they wouldn’t stop using it, because it’s awesome, but sometimes when you watch the modern Chicago Bulls start playing Alan Parsons only to introduce some terrible three and a half guard lineup, it feels almost sacrilegious. This song is Michael Jordan’s theme as much as it is the theme of the Bulls
Felt pretty epic when they had D. Rose. “FROM CHICAGO” set the crowd on fire.
Now they do that for Buzi, and it just feels hollow. Or when Coby would come out last and they had the from North Carolina, it just wasn’t right.
This will never NOT give me goosebumps. Epic.
And now, the starting lineup for YOUR Chicago Bulls! (Crowd erupts)
That’s always been my favorite part
Yes
peak nba theatrics
Shit too lit
r/rareterrys at the beginning lets go
100%
Adam Silver would kill you if you tried to inject this much pageantry into an nba finals elimination game now
The 4th Championship intro, on the path to repeat the three-peat. GOAT indeed.
When you heard the bulls intro you know someone was about to get belt to ass from MJ
To pair it up with the GOAT was only fitting.
That roster is huge for that era, no one under 6’6
I get goosebumps every time I hear that music. No other intro is more electric.
The sweat on Scottie. He was ready to ball
The Knicks had some pretty awesome intros in the mid 90s. Same with the mid 2000’s Pistons.
Back when companies had to have a good product to sell, now they only invest in Marketing and social media, roduct be damned
yeesh. what a vibe
The music, 72-10 season, Rodman becoming a fan favorite, and Jordan’s first full season back and leading the Bulls back to the finals. This was the first finals I watched and it was great.
From North Carolina…
Ah shit, here we go again.
The Bulls intro will never be topped.
man. bring back the ‘90s.
So fun watching this live. I miss the 90s.
Central Arkansas Southeastern Oklahoma State New Mexico Miami of Ohio North Carolina
Pretty amazing, that group of schools.
These days, all those small school guys would’ve transferred up.
I think this intro music along w/ the NBC theme hit so HARD!
Does the United center still use this intro? I hope not their current team doesn’t deserve it
I really tried to just scroll past this, its impossible if youre a basketball fan.
This one is the NBA intro, not the in-stadium starting lineups announcement but it is incredible.
Flu Game. Jazz had tied the series 2-2 against the Bulls. And Stockton had been super clutch in the playoffs (which Malone never was). Game 5 is in Utah (finals used to be 2-3-2). Jazz fans everywhere are actually starting to think they might actually have a chance to beat the Bulls. Michael Jordan though.
Both the Bulls and the Jazz were 48-3 at home through the season and playoffs at this point. Jordan willing his team to victory on the road in the circumstances makes his performance beyond epic.

This one and the Pistons Finals give me chills 100% of the time when I watch them.
Never gets old
why was luc longley being booed? or was it just “luuuc”?
The latter.
I was saying “Booo-urns.”
Yes. Mid-‘90s Magic are up there.
What’s that intro song called?
Sirius by The Alan Parsons Project.
“Sirius” Alan Parsons Project
I’m biased because I was at the game
But the 2008 game 1 after being back in the finals for the first time in 22 years
https://youtu.be/BHBaQAwdagk?si=rRFOPbocjJWPXgWc
Feels like the Bulls are one of the few teams (only?) that still uses the same lineup intro music, even if they’ve remixed it a little
Goosebump inducing every time
Wait how tall was Scottie Pippen
no, it’s the 2004 pistons. next question.
Agreed completely. Ba-ba-ba-Billups!
Honestly, the Pistons did it first and better.
The CHI announcer doesn’t have a good voice - way too high and without gravitas.
In addition, the Bulls intro belongs to Ricky The Dragon Steamboat who came out to it for his entrance music years before.
That generation of 80s kids knew where the Bulls ripped it off from.
Commence downvotes.
