Linsanity is something you can’t explain unless you lived it. My mom, who knows no player outside of LeBron, was calling me after every performance. That’s how huge it became.
And the league needed it badly after the lockout made both sides look so bad and people were pretty bitter about the league in its entirety. Lin put the NBA on his back for a good month.
It’s so funny watching people try to downplay linsanity when it’s one of the few moments in life when all the people I know that never watch sports ask about when to watch the game

Honestly, 2k12 is the absolute apex of MyCareer for me. I still have it installed on Steam and it’s the only 2k I even bother playing every now and then nowadays (2k11 is also GOATed but I had that on 360 and my disc is messed up now.)

They pretty much always have. They’re generally a little further from retirement than J Lin and Tacko Fall though. That was pretty unfair to have them there, honestly… Especially Tacko lol.. Lin is at least a reasonable size and you can tell he was treating it as a “fun shoot around” . Tacko wasn’t playing hard either(much harder than Lin though) but him just being there in the paint is pretty unfair for a celeb game. Dude is just 30, so he’s younger than most the celebs. He’s not like an absurdly tall player from the 90s or something who is old and slow now.
It’s pretty common but usually they’re pretty old and out of shape. Lin is still in shape, didn’t retire long ago from NBA and was competing in professional basketball back in Taiwan. So it does seem odd. Tacko Fall on the other is much younger and also professionally competing in another league outside of NBA (Chinese NBA). So unusual to see him here too. They need real celebrities who didn’t play professionally like Simu or the other influencers (forgot her name). Team Anthony stood no chance if Lin and Tacko played for real. Tacko was just unfair at that height, too easy for him.

This game is honestly the best part of all star weekend and has been for a few years. It’s NBA: Candyland. It’s stupid but in a way that everyone knows that it’s stupid. You get the occasional highlight from unexpected sources and the game is quick.
Granted, having Tacko there this year was a pretty stupid decision. And Giannis playing him like 35 mins made it worse. Giannis is such a tryhard but I respect it in a way lmao.
