Does he even have a future in the nba? From what I can tell, Blazers fans aren’t exactly enthused about him
He’s only 20 and still adapting to the NBA speed along with getting acclimated to a totally different culture and learning English.
They drafted him knowing full well he’d be a multi year project. And so far nobody that was drafted after him has probably made them regret the pick.
Still, I have NO IDEA why we drafted Yang:
Pre draft, we had:
At the C:
A. Ayton, (YES warts and all) signed 23 - 26
B. we draft Clingan @ #7 in ‘24,
C. then go and waive and pay Ayton $30m for him not to be on the team
D. we draft Yang at 16
all with trading for 35YO Jrue for Simons, while having 31YO Jerami at $30m+ til 28 and signing 35YO Dame for 3 years for 15m/per.
Dame is the only defendable signing, for nostalgia and leadership, and the Clingan was a positive pick, but WHY TF did we draft Yang with Ayton and Clingan already on the roster?!?!?

He’s super young. Give him a year or two.
Time will tell. Clingan made a MASSIVE improvement from last year to this, so there’s optimism that he can do something similar.
He’d look a lot better if refs didn’t hate him. Everytime he’s in the court the whistle becomes so strict for him on defense, but gets absolutely hammered on offense with no calls
He’s not ready for real NBA minutes yet, but I think a lot of that angst fans have about him would be lessened if the refs didn’t screw him over everytime he was on the court
