That’s an amazing stat. I think the Cavs have had at least 1 on the roster for at least half of our seasons. We’ve had 2 of them for probably 5-10 seasons, and 3 of them on our roster in 1 or 2 seasons as well. We traded 2 of them for Kevin Love.

Not really. All nba is a regular season award. While Miller was like Michael Jordan in that his stats go up in the playoffs, his regular season stats weren’t fantastic. He only made all star game 5 times and the three years he got 3rd team all nba, he only averaged over 20 ppg for one of them.

Even his playoff runs were mostly like 22-24 ppg except for 95-96 when he averaged 33 like he was MJ.

We gave them Vanderbilt and Beasley and took that massive Westbrook contact off them, not even that helped us

I fully agree that Utah is. This is nothing new. Teams have done this for years. Sacramento and New Orleans are both larger market cities than Indy. Have you looked at how many injuries Indy has? The healthy ones are playing and he fines them right after beating the Knicks and a comeback win? How’s that tanking?

Taking advantage of the rest system i totally get… you want the fans to get to see the stars. But as a fan, wouldn’t you rather watch your favorite player play for 3 quarters and sit the 4th, as opposed to not watching him play at all because of rest?

And there are good reasons to play young players in the 4th quarter of tight games in a lost season for the franchise, that don’t have to do with draft lottery purposes. Like getting them all experience in clutch moments, getting to see exactly what you have in a player like a Cody Williams or Isaiah Collier, avoiding injury to your starters especially now that two of them are done for the year (JJJ and Kessler).

I just genuinely dont see the big deal here. Teams have done way, way worse since Sam Hinkie with the Sixers, but its just fuck Utah apparently lmao

I feel you and Pacers are one of my teams in the East but as a Kings fan I raise you them. Been in the lottery 29 times in their 40 years of tenure in Sacramento and gotten like four or five top 5 picks. Insane that Spurs got 3 top 4 picks in a row tho when they’re rarely ever in the lottery

Iirc, the Mavs were also a third team to have never benefited from the draft lottery before last year.

The Nuggets have never moved up. They’ve been flat before, but never up. So they have never benefitted from the lottery

Edit: the Pacers went up in the lottery in the Smits draft and the pick that was used to select Kanter also went up from where it started. I won’t count Deron Williams because the Jazz traded for that pick after the lottery happened but the ping pong balls actually favored them with Kanter and they benefitted
