It was a very good trade.

The KAT trade was fine imo value wise, KAT did just make all nba team last year. Just hasn’t been a good fit with brown and the defensive fit with Jalen isn’t great obviously.

Better rebounder, better rim protector, more positionally versatile.

They both put in inconsistent effort. KAT commits more dumb fouls.

Randle’s better at guarding wings.

The most objective proof is that Wolves defense got worse after replacing KAT with Randle despite not losing any significant defenders and McDaniels improving a bit over the years. The Randle/Naz pairing is getting torched on defense while the Naz/KAT pairing held it’s own.

Knicks also got worse on defense with KAT but I would argue that losing IHart is a bigger contributor than the Randle/Divo - KAT swap.

To be fair, our roster changed so quickly, and we had so many players either added or improved so fast, but he kind of got lost in the shuffle fit wise. He’s a really good cutter and secondary ball mover. But the Spurs straight up don’t have too many of their players cut off ball right now. They want to keep the paints as open as possible for their slashing guards. So if you’re a role player in San Antonio, you really need to be able to shoot. It’s as simple as that.

If you’re not one of their three slashing guards or Victor, you’re spotting up in the corner most of the time and you simply is a terrible fit for that kind of offense. I think he’ll have his moments with the Knicks

Sochan can’t guard bigs or protect the rim. He’s good at guarding wings and is a good communicator on defense though
