No, he can’t be a rim protector (even guards will score over him) and he isn’t great at defending guys larger than he is. He’s a fantastic POA perimeter pest and can guard guys up to 6’10” though, 1-4 is his true wheelhouse on defense.

On offense, he can’t shoot but he’s a great slasher/motor guy and can make some inspired connective passes and reads. If he plays to the level I honestly expect him to with a change of scenery, Knicks fans are gonna love him

We don’t need him to shoot, we need him to play defense. We already have enough shooters.

Yabusele was overweight and legitimately unplayable. I gave him the benefit of the doubt for most of the season until the new year started.

They are absolutely guys you can throw in for 5-10 minutes in a playoff game. Especially Kolek who has already shown he can perform under pressure.

At the rate Diawara is developing he might be better than Giannis come playoff time

Mo has been steadily improving as the season goes on. Him and Kolek are our two young guys to keep an eye on, but just bc of MO’s physical tools (Pascal-esque physique and height) I think he is the one Knicks fan are most excited about continuing to develop.

Yep I love Mo I hope this doesn’t cut into his minutes. He’s really starting to come into his own. I trust Brown and Leon to make it work though.

Diawara has so much promise. Browns also fallen in love with him, I don’t see his minutes getting cut. Sochan might have to do some play-to-get-in kind of work.

Sochan has that dawg in him man. He will always stand up for his teammates. I think he will do great with y’all. He’s a good point of attack defender and good cutter. I don’t think his offensive game is a lost cause.

Honestly, I think the chemistry is the win. Like a team of mercenaries that wins is meh. But the vibes of guys that are genuinely friends is pretty damn cool. If they can win? Man that’s the cherry on top. You guys are my favorite eastern team, would be so much fun to see you guys at the end of the road!

I was hoping he’d sign with a bottom feeder so he could actually get some minutes. I still have my doubts that he can get regular minutes on a good team without an injury. But hopefully I’m wrong.

We just didn’t have a role for him with our current roster, he’s still a solid player.

Sochan should work decently well with Brunson imo. He needs to play with a guard that has great ball security and can make good passes. Issue with Sochan is I think it’ll be hard to have him share minutes with Robinson and the interior defense will be bad if he shares the court with towns

Not MembershipSingle7137 but yes. Sochan is a pesky defender and a rim threat who didn’t fit in anymore due to a lack of Spurs shooting to compensate for his own lack of shooting. I expect him to do a lot more work when teamed with a second unit of shooters like Jose, McBride and Shamet that can space the floor.

Really good summary. I’ll add that he’s a great cutter. Good passer but also turns the ball over because sometimes he gets ambitious, particularly with interior passing.
